King Inertia's last seconds at his last round was the deciding factor for me. Colaps perfectly performed his both of his routines and even called him out with his technical "precision".
his whole 2nd round was way too poor ngl, and the 1st round missed a good last drop
This was an amazing battle - one of my favorites from GBB2021. I think Inertia's bass sound in round 2 is some form of open-mouth vibration bass - sounds sick, never been done before on the GBB stage, so huge points to him.
I think the battle was clearly won by Colaps - his rounds are literally flawless in execution, structure, sound diversity, and arrangement. His drums are so incredibly consistent and punchy, plus his precision theme in the second round summed up the difference between him and Inertia well (Inertia lacks precision, but has impact).
Inertia's bass sounds are obviously top-tier, and I disagree with a lot of the arguments about it being too repetitive - with a sound that good, that versatile, and that fundamental to his style, of course he is going to use it a lot. His zipper and voice techniques are incredible too. I think Inertia could have taken this battle if he had perfect execution (his inward bass didn't come out at one point in the last 15 secs of the first round), had some counter to Colaps's precision idea, and hadn't used the same round arrangement so many times in the tournament previously.
KI’s inward bass is not what is repetitive. Every beatboxer has a sound they fall back on. And I think if any of us had an inward bass like his, we’d all use it all the time as well. What makes it repetitive is the ways in which he uses the inward bass. His predictability comes from his tempos, his structures, and even the rhythms and timing where he implements the inward bass. If he could just become more comfortable doing other styles of music, he’d be unbeatable
Colaps showed Inertia how to do the sound. You don't try to counter your teacher lol

Inertia did Colaps' sound as a counter but it was not as clean as Colaps'. Also, Colaps taught the skill to Inertia directly.

In my opinion this is quite a clear win for colaps just because he scores higher on structure and execution. Colaps has insane tech and inertia has insane bass, but inertia just wasn't clean enough and the last third of both his rounds were quite messy and didnt hit. Sick reaction though guys, keep it up 😁😁
I never really thought this battle was close tbh. Cuz even in Inertia's standards he kinda underperformed in this battle, whereas colaps gave it his all. Maybe if Inertia was at his peak performance, and used his best routines THEN it would be close.

I thinl that the big difference between the rounds from codfish and the rounds of inertia is the structure and the track itself. In codfishs rounds you really listened to different songs and genres with surprises (2nd round vs bataco) the structure of inertias rounds where just to similar for me so that most of the rounds hab a too similar feeling

For me, It’s not the inward bass by itself that’s repetitive. Anybody whose inward bass sounds like that should be using it all the time. I know I would. It’s the way he uses it. Same trap style, same tempo, same structures of routines (which are arguably also not super great). His solo elimination in 2021 was #1 because he used it in a bunch of different styles and tempos. He needs to get more comfortable doing more than just trap or drill style if he wants to really level up.

Inertia has his style with all these trap beats and basses, but for stage battles he's being way too repetitive, while Colaps is far more varied with his structures and drops.
Yeah Colaps deserved his win for sure. But that doesn't mean Inertia is bad, he's a musical beatboxer in the same league of the likes of Codfish. Codfish didn't have much variation either but he won GBB twice using the same few sounds.

inertia had nothing to do in 2nd round so he spammed that vibration bass with his high inward bass also inertia was doing that reverse thing in those days alot and yea its not his own style and that colaps showing bitting sign moment was so cold at that time because he was literally copying his style and thats not what you call a solid counter.
for me colaps win 10:0 vs inertia inertia is good only in inward bass but colaps is next level !!!

Honestly GBB would have ended differently if interia had a crazy trap drop at the end but the last like 10 sec was what made it go for colaps but indicator was right, this was definitely the best solo battle of the whole thing

well yeah if you look at the sounds count sure but codfish did not do the same beat every other round while you can almost hear the same rounds of inertia from different battles in pieces it not the bass thats the issue it is how he uses it
