I am glad you made this video as it was a question I had on recommended cleaning. You never truly say what you recommend to clean the comp. I found that I have played with all different ways to clean a comp, from making panacetic acid, to using shooters choice lead remover, and everything else in between with little success. On my CWA 2211 I was told the secret to cleaning comps. Take cleaning cloths soaked in hopes 9 and let them sit inside the comp a half hour to an hour come in with a dental pick and it just pops right out. It’s the only thing I seen that hopes 9 is good for, and it work’s amazing! Gets it just like new.
Well I wish I saw this sooner. Just got my CR920xp and put blazer through it. Maybe it got too hot but there is definitely a hard build up on the comp that I had to scrape off.
True, just yesterday I shot the "CCI 124G Blazer Ammo" I just purchased using my CR920P and it failed twice! My CR920P was previously using "MAGTECH 124 ammo" with no issues! But my MR920 (without comp) uses "Blazer 124" without any problem. Question about "comp" cleaning My personal experience is to clean every 300 rounds and use "special cotton swabs" for deep cleaning.
A DR1020 or just 10mm as the next caliber to be offered after completing the full 9mm size offerings make sense. I’m fairly sure 10mm is the 2nd best selling caliber handgun/ammo wise right now… The question is how long until I can get one? Before the election year rush I hope 😎
Thanks again, Trevor, for another great video. This right here is one reason why I chose to buy a pistol from your company. Not to MANY CEOs of a gun manufacturer make videos like this. So, that said. Thank you. 👏😎🤘🍻🍻🇺🇲. I got to thinking about a way to help prevent the build up in the comps. When ' brand new '. What about actually dipping the whole comp in Radco CLP? Pull it out, whipe it down and let the Radco CLP penatrate the comp for a few days before firing the pistol the 1st time.
Great info. What about cleaning it with CLR? Also you guys need to come out with a competition pistol, w/ a 2 lb trigger, full pic rail because it looks cooler and the DR920P config.
I put a thin layer of oil before I shoot on my comps and clean them afterwards. They don't get the erosion, lead or copper build up, even after a 1,000 round day. Is there some wear? Yes. And I honestly can't get everything brand new clean like I typically can for most of the frame and slide parts but you can upkeep them pretty easily imho.
@@mitchimuusit’s only going to get harder to remove as you shoot. The carbon build up between the lock up is acting as a glue. You gotta be a man about it at this point. The way they remove it in the videos. It’s clear as day that the guns haven’t been shot.
@@SnD340 lol be a man about it. Ya next step is to soak it in penetrating oil. Not looking the marr the hell out of it in any way. But little soak and a rubber mallet seems like the next step.
@@mitchimuus yes just be careful not to damage it. I’ve had the same issue. Had numerous failed attempts to get it off. Got frustrated and though it was stupid. I didn’t use any penetrating oil/carbon break down. But I bent my insertion tool while rotating the comp off. It was in there..
@@SnD340 ya trying to avoid that. Thing runs like a champ. Have you put a decent trigger in yours. Makes a huge difference. I can't even shoot the PDP anymore untill I put some money I to it.
Had my first issue with my MR920. After about 2500 rounds or so I had to pull the trigger out and scrape the gunk off the disconnector. That's acceptable to me.
DR920 WARPOET 5" THREADED W/HOLO & SUREFIRE TURBO T.REX SIDECAR EVERYDAY CARRY... OVER 5K ROUNDS NOT ONE ISSUE. BOUGHT THE SHADOW COMP WHEN IT CAME OUT. GOT ABOUT 2K OF THE 5 K THROUGHT THE COMP. NO ISSUES, DIDN'T HAVE TO PUT IN A LIGHTER RECOIL SPRING. MOST ACCURATE RELIABLE PISTOL I HAVE EVER OWNED. IT'S A GOD DAMN SNIPER PISTOL!
Not really apples to apples. But I recall decades ago someone made an aluminum comp when IPSC competitors were shooting zillion PSI 38 Supers. They didn't last long at all.
I used Blazer Brass to Break my Dr 920 P Te first Mags I was convinced It was never going to Shoot a complete mag, at 150 it was getting better , But i had many light Primer Strikes ,I have over 300 and it is shooting better.I took the slide off and The Firing Pin was Tight I had to Pull the Pin out and i got it free also where The Ejection rod & spring & plastic part i could not see anything ,I thought it fell out when i removed The Back plate I stuck a small Takedown tool it went in pretty deep and i felt nothing , i looked around could not find anything ? I Got online and ordered a whole Rod & Spring kit more Comp Orings and Comp retainer pins . I put it together the firing Pin was Free , so i cleaned it Put it together and I had 11 light primer Rounds i put them in a mag and they all shot ? This Is not like Glock at all ,I do not understand How the Ejecting lever ejects when i can't see anything in that Hole ? Weird .
@@Shadow-2 Thanks I have an SRO mounted and I thought it would be like a Glock ,But Now I see so clearly , I will have new Parts . Thanks so Much for The link .
Don’t shoot Blazer ammo in my Shadow Systems 10mm when it arrives. Got it. Thanks for the video.

What ammunition are you shooting ? Any hollow tips with the comp ?
Mostly plated bullets, some coated, yes many jacketed hollow points.

Congrats, you made a fun that’s near impossible to clean because the comp is insanely difficult to come off.

When is the acro slides going for sale again bud ?
For the mr920
I really Enjoy Tech Tuesdays. I haven't really looked at it but would like to know how to remove the comp on a CR920p.
They have a video in their “shorts” section showing how to 👍🏻
I have a DR920 with the solo comp added and a Timney competition trigger and RMR. Amazingly accurate setup, never cleaned the comp yet.
Let me know if your able to get it off when you do. I haven't been able to get mine off. Have tried 3 different times over the course of 5k rounds.

3:59 Well, that's something I didn't know. Guess this will be my last box of plated projectiles.
Are you guys coming out with a CR920X or CR920XP? A long frame CR920 with 15+ rounds?
Where is the actual cleaning segment?
So what would be the best ammo and grain to run for my compensated MR920 (shadow systems comp) ?
When’s the 10MM dropping? I would love to have it.
10MM for the win!

Have you seen part of a copper jacket stuck on the vent of the comp?
Can you use a brass scraper?
Can you shoot hollow tips out the mr920 comp ?
So i just found out that about blazer, thanks
Do you know of any issues with using Syntec ammo with comps?
Slim 15 rounder next please like a G43X.
great most of my ammo in storage is blazer brass 😥

You can clean guns?!
Does anyone have a link to Blazer specific video that he mentioned?

Hinting at a 10mm? That would be awesome.
Great just watch this video after shooting 300rds of blazer thru my cr920p 😂
I bet i know why you guys have 10mm rounds 😉 mr1020....
I would buy that fairly straight away.
OOOO! YEA!!! That be. Bad ass! Cause I'm buying one. I'm hoping they come out with a 45acp and their own AR Platform. 😎🤘🍻🇺🇲
Man, that would be a winner. War Poet version for me!
@ampm24-72 love to see a 10mm and 45acp
Review the video, if you look closely you can see a large frame SS on the table.
learned something about blazer today. thanks T
If you build something to run that box of ammo and I will be a new customer.
10mm... just do it
Hmmm, 10mm ammo on the desk for no apparent reason? What’s next Shadow Systems own 10mm appears on the table? Lol
10mm confirmed. 😂
Buy a Lav mic for god sakes. It’s only 79.99$
