Knowing what we all know now... about the dominance of Mat Fraser after this Open workout and his repeat championship runs... I found it great to see Castro's answer starting at the 39:00 mark... Mat Fraser may not be Rich Froning Jr.... but holy smokes what a dominant athlete Mat is!!
@@dbmooo I agree! I love what Mat has done with crossfit, and watching what he has started with Justin and Mal since retiring has been amazing! Im so glad he has stuck around the games in at least that capacity! #TeamFra5er
"It's never going to happen again", couldn't be more wrong. Fraser was more dominant than Rich, Tia is more dominant than Fraser. And Justin is beginning his dominance
@@bprcarvalho You can't limit the definition of dominance to individual comp only lol. Rich has won *10 championships*. He's had 12 straight games appearance, 4 indy wins and 6 team wins (and those with over 20 different team mates)?! Dude..Fraser dropped out too early. His accomplishments don't compare when we're talking "dominance". You were right about Tia though - pound for pound she's the most dominate indy athlete (more than Fraser) and the most dominate female.
Rich Froning, Jr. competed (and won) his sixth affiliate cup with CrossFit Mayhem Freedom at the 2022 NOBULL CrossFit Games! Check out Rich in this episode of Miles to Madison for more: cf.games/3Qqo4ZW
Jesus Christ. This ROM ( Range of motion ) bullshit is pissing me off ! WTF is he talking about ? Where was this ROM when he lost in 2014 /2015 ? I mean lost, he got 2ns places but he lost race for 1st place in 2014 with Froning and then in 2015 with Smith. Both are taller than him. On this kind of fitness ( elite ) there is no such thing as longer shorter athlete, only in cases like one is 165 cm high vs 210cm high YES THIS CAN MAKE A DIFFRENCE. But 5cm is nothing here so please, stop it already...
What did you smoke? There's no logical way to explain this, Medeiros didn't even had the time to make his legacy, there's no fair way to compare a guy with 10x crossfit games championships and a guy with 2
@@braianfernandes9698 Ok hear me out A championship in 2022 is not even comparable to a championship in 2011. Games athletes couldn’t even string ring muscle ups together or do legless rope climbs back then. Any semifinals athlete from 2022 would have won the 2011 games easily. Now, if you can’t do those movements with your eyes closed, you have no chance of even getting through QFs. To win back to back in such an insanely competitive era where you can have absolutely zero weakness, is a very different story. So two back to back individual championships in this era in my opinion is far far more of an accomplishment than four individual championships in fronings era. It’s not even close. On top of this, team championships are not even worth 10% of an individual championship. I don’t think this really needs justifying to be honest. For most of the team athletes, if they were competitive as an individual then they’d do it. It’s just like any strength of schedule argument in any sport. 2 wins versus top teams is worth more than 10 walkovers.

My opinion, Mat was always more complete athlete than Froning. Both are the greatest.

It is pretty great to watch Mat as a coach!

It was awful!!!
I did this earlier in the year and got like 12 minutes. They make the thrusters look too easy 😂
Pure pain cave
@@DarthBane-zf8wv That's actually a pretty good time, wow!
@@robertciresijr7268 Thanks. Lot of sets of 6-8 at a time then back at it.
Now we know why Matt went for #5. Dave pissed him off 😀
@@KeithGreenshields Dave says we'll never see someone as dominant as Rich again 😂 , around min 38 or so
Good times
Very good
When doing the thrusters should I do 135!?
Would love to see these 3 compete with each other at 100 kg isabel.
No one saw what Mat would do after 2016. Respect to Rich, but Mat is n1.
Wow
well this didnt age well for dave, “ there never will be a athlete like froning “ matt won 5 times dave
lmao, is the judge allowed to touch Froning's barbell?
The crazy thing is froning redid this after and beat Fraser.
Why did froning compete in the open and not the games?
Many do. Lol
But yea he simply retired from individual CrossFit games by this videos year, But he always does the open and continues to do well.
Rich Froning is competing in the TEAMS division since 2015.

Mat's Burpees were not done properly.
Unpopular opinion
