Fascinating. Every time I listen to this work, I discover new beautiful details. Thank you for sharing, keep up the good work, and best greetings from Spain!
J'aime beaucoup le son du piano ( Pleyel ? ), très ravelien (au lieu de l'inévitable Steinway ) qui donne une couleur particulière, sobre, respectueuse des autres instruments. Bravo !
It's a pity that a single wrong note in an otherwise splendid performance can ruin the experience for you. Maybe live music isn't for you as every musician will make mistakes in concert, at least once in a while.
Couldn't they provide a better piano? What a clunker. As for Ravel. . . I guess the written dynamics and pastel coloration aren't considered worth observing these days.
I wouldn't completely disapprove of the piano, in fact I find it most of the time impressively beautiful. It has a gorgeous, extremely clear sound which comes into its own in the arpeggios for instance, and in its ability to mingle naturally with the strings. The very beginning comes across as quite dry, I grant you that, which is a pity considering how beautiful it is later on.
This is also an Erard, which is exactly the type of piano Ravel would have been writing on. It's been restored and restrung from what I can see as well. For an Erard, it's quite nice. They have a much thinner tone than what we're used to hearing from modern Steinway-esque type grands, so the "clunkyness" is more a part of the character of the piano than a reflection on it's quality.
I. Modere 00:00
II. Pantoum: Assez vif 10:00
III. Passacaille: Tres large 14:58
IV. Finale: Anime 23:08

Maravilloso
Bravo!! 🙂
Nice ensemble~ 멋진 앙상블이네요~
The best
Je corrige : le piano est un Erard, comme celui qui est toujours à Montfort-l'Amaury.
Bravo ♫♪
Was enjoying it until 21:26 ouch that C natural on the cello instead of the B.... Very lovely performance otherwise
Je crois que vous avez raison. Compliments pour la finesse de votre oreille.

LOL!!
Well-synchronized performance with highest technique and without superfluous romanticism. But sometimes sounds a bit nervous.
Seemed restrained at times and too slow(dragging) at other times. The last movement had more life in it. Good but not great playing.

Gut synchronisierte Aufführung mit höchster Technik und ohne überflüssige Romantik. Aber manchmal klingt ein bißchen nervös.
