I really like this idea, I hope you make more videos like this. Seeing you outside the comfort zone and trying to fix odd things is great, I'm learning with you as well.
Just one thing that may help you in future diagnostics: Measuring batteries with a multimeter isn't sufficient as it doesn't apply a load. So with an old battery you may measure 1.5v across the terminals, but when a load is applied (when in real use) the voltage will drop. Advice is to get a battery tester which will apply a load while testing. It's the only way to be sure your battery is in fact supplying what you expect.
Vince, I love this series of you trying to fix stuff. So satisfying when you manage to do it, but I really appreciate that you show when you can't fix stuff too. Learn stuff either way.
Great video man. Small bit of info, even dead batteries will show 1.4, 1.5 volts when on a regular meter. They have small battery testers with a tiny led and a meter in it so the battery can be tested under a load. Keep these great videos coming.
I enjoyed watching you fix the tin toy very simple but an impressive piece of engineering for someone who does not know what he is doing you have great skill 😁
I use to do electrical assembly in Chicago, I did it for 15 years, I saw a video of doing custom basketball ball shoes, I love it, but alas it doesn't bring money in yet, but I've been binge watching your videos while at work, what I'm trying to say , it looks like you are having a lot of fun, enjoy your life and I really enjoy your videos. thanks, I just subbed.
My mate vince needs to do a live stream, breakdown and repairs of regular household items. the tin train toy was amazing, unraveling the mechanical mysteries of a bygone era
There's merit to the well-shot refurbishment vids, but despite how comprehensive those vids are, I always enjoy watching My Mate take a crack at things!
is it bad that I fall asleep to these videos my mate vince makes, nothing is distracting enough to make me look up at the screen but its entertaining to listen to
Doctor Who is pretty big here in the USA - I used to watch Tom Baker (still probably my favorite Doctor) weekdays after school in the early 80's on broadcast public TV (what we call PBS). It's still on BBC America and my children watch it (they're both teens) quite often. Great fixit videos!
Hello from brazil south america =) i watch all your videos and i learned everything watching you doit and gave me the courage to start fixing faulty tech =) thanks keep up with the good work my friend =)
Dr. "WHO"? Asking for a friend. Your videos have been quite consistant over the years (which is GR8T IMHO). A "6yr old Vince" video is very much like a "new Vince" video. No jarring personalty changes. That's pretty COol. Cheers from So.Ca.USA 3rd House On the Left yap@you-later. p.s. Best Quote: "Smells a bit in there"...
Dude your videos are mesmerising.. it just really makes me want to fix something now. LOVE that you didn’t edit out the delivery bit haha brilliant.. keep it up 👍🏻
The train set! Remember a time when things were meant to last! lol We are way to comfortable with throwing things away now day! plastic plastic plastic.
I had two of these as a kid! One was new in 90s, I believe. Not very entertaining to play with, unfortunately. The key was easy to lose, so I fitted a wheel from a toy car on its place.
i'm a french viewver and i love your vidéos (and Doctor Who as well) this series convience me to test my old Nintendo Switch (the air don't flow and i bought a new one after a call at Nintendo France and the price of repair is just insane)
Doctor Who is pretty known in Australia, I'm not a huge fan but i really do enjoy David Tennant and Matt Smith as the doctor's. Keep up the good work Vince i really enjoy your video's!
Hey Vince! You should set up a shop on Ebay and resell the refurbished items you fix, and link the video in the listing! You could get some money back, and keep fueling your RUclips Videos. I would try and buy a Switch from you! You do great work and you're inspirational for many people. (including myself) Keep up the good work!
I'm American and I love Doctor Who. David Tennant will always be the Doctor for me but Matt Smith was good too. I think Amy Pond was probably the best companion in my opinion.
I started when Tom Baker was Dr. Who. I then watched the ones from the 60s (Pertwee?) I loved Tom Baker so much that when he transformed to the new Doctor I couldn't watch for a while... but I got over it.
Really enjoying your videos mate. You've brilliant way of talking and explaining what your doing. Best of luck on RUclips - Subscriber for me for sure!
I live in Boston, Massachusetts, Dr. Who was big on TV here when I was kid in early 1980s. Tom Baker was the guy. And lovely Sara. And I also remember the Monsters were hack and you could see they were wearing masks..lol Loved it.
Hi long term watcher, first time commenter, just wanting to say loving the video especially all the new fixing stuff videos, keep up he great work dude :)
Hello im tring to contact you for the switch enclosure video ,i am very interest by this project, im trying to do the same thing for my switch, but how you can charge the monitor 10 inch witch the power bank because its ac in 12V ? thanks and weldone another time
There is a highly likely chance that those letter and numbers on the props were just cavity marks on the injection mold. They are put on so if there are bad parts dropping out of the mold that the person running the molding press can locate the problematic cavity.
hey nice video men, in case you didn't know why on the last drone the one blade was delayed like you said. It's not because it is delayed it is just figuring out wich blade's need to spin to get it flying stable again. And when you where holding it like that the blade didn't need to do anything so it didn't rotate. keep up the good work!
Fitting the probs to a Robocat racing drone is a pain in the butt if you a total noob like me but I do have a micro drone too and it's great fun to buzz around indoors
you can use all bateries who will fit in the case ,and of cause are not too heavy , so you can also increase the flight time . Greetings from Germany ..:) .
Yes, to answer your question, Dr Who is very big here in the USA and we get to see the new episodes the same day you see them in the UK.I've been a fan since i was a kid like yourself and used to watch the episodes on PBS and now get to see them on Netflix or BBC America.can't wait for the start of season 11with the 1st female Doctor!
Showing my age, but I had one of these. The main problem is that once the tin gets bent, it damages the structural and functional integrity of the toy. Most of the time, my dad could get away with squirting in some 3 in 1. Job done!
If you're interested i'm pretty sure the nanos use a 6x15mm brushed motor, in which case there are a few upgrade options. Batteries can also be sourced easily.
Not sure if its already been said, but the dim light on the cable for the drones is more dim because your looking at it from the back because of the plug.
I'm 64 now, and when I was little in the 1960s there were still a few tinplate clockwork and 'friction' toys around. Sadly, boys being boys, we would often pull them apart after a while to find out what was inside and how they worked. It's a shame, since they would be collectors' items now. Not all waste, though, since I did go on to be an engineer. (Electronics rather than mechanics, but I also have some qualifications in the latter).
Random little story here about rc drones. I worked at a Dollar General about a year ago and when an item got returned even if it still worked, we had to throw it away. Because of that, I was able to get an RC drone and many other electronic toys for free, dumpster diving after work lol. The RC drone has a very flimsy switch on it and with just the right angle you can flip the switch and it works perfectly fine. Wish more stuff like that wasn't so easily thrown away by companies or at the very least the consumer fiddle with the item before giving up and returning.
Waching you all the time from the Netherlands, learned a lot, exept when you start with your electric messuring tool, talking about ohms and stuff, Then i'am lost, but love to see you repairing stuff. Thank you for the video's.. Were on ebay can i find things need repairing? i love to do it too, because iám retiring soon.
This guy is so much like myself. I love to tinker also. I did pass a degree as an Electronics Engineer just by starting out like Vince does. Take it further bro and open up your own business.
You can get replacement batteries for much cheaper from aliexpress but usually they don't come with a connector Or you could get less capacity ones with connectors but I'm not sure if that would make it unbalanced
yep thats about it wind it up n watch it for hours see when i was a kid we didn't have computers tablets ect and simple things had more enjoyment value to them much more than they do today.
When I was a kid I didn't have tablets or computers either, but I still had toy cars, dolls, legos, you know things you can actually interact and play with. I just don't see how that train can be very fun.
Well i guess like many kids we were different individual people and like different individual people we liked and had fun in different ways I had a very vivid imagination and used to dream of driving trains so winding the toy up and watching it go round amd round and in and out of the tunnels fueled that dream. and today i have model railway layouts. I also had a toy bus and used to play with that for hours because i used to dream of driving buses like my Uncle did at the time when i grew up i ended up driving a coach for a living. So i guess you could say my fascination and fun with that toy helped fuel my future in a way. but i also had all the toys you could really interact with like any other kid.
Excellent video - so interesting. Was the dull charger an Amazon charger? They seem unable to charge very much these days. Loving your quest to learn, without much (as you said) knowledge. I was also, once, a boy who would dismantle things out of interest, but always had leftover spare parts, and they never ever worked again.
The little dimples or divots on the bottom plate of the tin train was for strength and rigidity. Don't forget to use machine oil on the gear set, it's almost like a clock movement.
You get a set of spare propellers for drones, usually when people brake one of the original one by landing the drone wrong. They tend to just replace propellers without watching which one is CW and which one is CCW.
The "disk" where green train is attached is bent, it is clearly visible in video and this is making a train to get stuck and the gears were leaving the holes in the "disk". Very easy fix
Doctor who has gotten pretty popular here in the US over the past few years. Netflix really kicked it off here. My high school had a whole club for it. By the way Tennant is best.
My husband and i have a few drones, we love playing with them, crash them at times and have lost a few propellers but we have always replaced them correctly. My husband had to fix a wire on his after it crashed, and the switch broke on mine but they are still playable. 🙂
The age range on some of the drone toys sold online are very low compared with the actual skill needed to get them flying and keep them going. Loved the train. I think it would have been for a child of 5 to 7 and so not boring at all. An 8 year old might have been looking more towards actual train sets. The cyber man helmet was interesting. Roger Loyd Pack played the king of the cybermen in the David Tennant days and was quite scary given that they came to 'upgrade' humans to non dying , unemotional cyborgs.
Hi vince you should have just put the battery from the drone with the broken moter into the one that needs a battery but love your vids heads up im british like you I have a broken drone if you want I think I still have it let me know if possible
I'm from the UK but have a friend from the US who lives out in Portland Oregon and I can confirm he is a huge Dr Who fan. There is in fact a bar near to where he lives called the tardis and it is all decked out in a Dr Who theme. He goes there regular and gets his fish and chips.
In fact, once my friend and I was discussing British sweets (candy to Americans), and though he can't get them over in the US, he started talking about jelly babies. Because of course he had seen them being eaten by Tom Baker on Dr Who.
The plate with the blue train on s slightly warped and catching where the top is buckled and catching. It would all need taking apart to take the warp out of the round plate.
I really like this idea, I hope you make more videos like this. Seeing you outside the comfort zone and trying to fix odd things is great, I'm learning with you as well.
ME TOO

Keep up the videos, I love watching them!
My mate vince needs to do a live stream, breakdown and repairs of regular household items. the tin train toy was amazing, unraveling the mechanical mysteries of a bygone era
Enjoy the enthusiasm of these videos. Good to see another tinkerer.
I really like the fact that vince thinks that we would not want to watch every little thing he does.
There's merit to the well-shot refurbishment vids, but despite how comprehensive those vids are, I always enjoy watching My Mate take a crack at things!
is it bad that I fall asleep to these videos my mate vince makes, nothing is distracting enough to make me look up at the screen but its entertaining to listen to
Haha, well a view is a view :-) Don't worry, I have the same problem when I try and edit them :-)
You should really get a contact cleaner spray for cleaning switches, buttons, potentiometers etc.
It would make your life much easier.

The train set! Remember a time when things were meant to last! lol We are way to comfortable with throwing things away now day! plastic plastic plastic.
everything's disposable nowadays.
@@pentiummmx2294 True that.
I had two of these as a kid! One was new in 90s, I believe. Not very entertaining to play with, unfortunately. The key was easy to lose, so I fitted a wheel from a toy car on its place.
I watched this whole dang thing when I was supposed to be working!!! :) Really interesting video - I enjoyed it a lot. Cheers :)
Vince, Doctor Who is quite big over here. I personally enjoy recent series, (the older are harder to watch) but my wife's favorite episode is "Blink"
the doctor is a world wide sensation!. we love it here in america. we even have events in the cinema where you can see some of it on the big screen.
Just found your channel and just wanted to say your content is really interesting and inspiring.

wheni was young (70`s) i got a couple of those tin machines and i loved them
Love these videos. Keep up the good work. I wish I could get some of these sets like your 3ds lot.
Vince, yes there are lots of people over in the USA that love the series's Doc who. And we have it on bbc as well. Not as big as in Europe though.
I'm 64 now, and when I was little in the 1960s there were still a few tinplate clockwork and 'friction' toys around. engineer me some stuff my friend
Awesome mini drones 👍
Mate you are going to bankrupt me, so far I want a Big Trak and a Quad Copter and that’s just after watching two of your videos!
This is the among the ultimate niche video genres. Up there with Ashens, Big Clive and carsandwater. Good job dude.

Your awsome the British version of me were awsome. Love every second mate
I know who I'd choose to have in a zombie apocalypse. My mate Vince 💪😂

Normally with a Try me switch, there are sometimes button cells inside that power it for a while when for sale in a store.
Well Dr. Who is somewhat popular in the USA as it was first on Sci-Fi channel for like 3-4 years, and then was on BBCAmerica but it’s not mainstream
10:38 "smells a bit in there"
That made me laugh out loud for some reason.
What about a broken valve/tube radio? I am currently working on a tube amplifier. Love this old technology
I had one of the tin trains when i was a kid and they keept me happy for hours. love the vids by the way :O)
How did you play with it? Did you just stare at it for hours?
yep thats about it wind it up n watch it for hours see when i was a kid we didn't have computers tablets ect and simple things had more enjoyment value to them much more than they do today.

I'm a Whovian and live in the US. I used to listened to Dr Who on the radio as a kid in the early 70's.
Brilliant.I want a quad copter now.
could you do a video of what tools and equipment you have
Mark Curry I would love to know too!
Hi mark aka Yorkshire man i use to have the same wind up toy grate video as usual
Awesome fix as always
Excellent video - so interesting. Was the dull charger an Amazon charger? They seem unable to charge very much these days.
Loving your quest to learn, without much (as you said) knowledge.
I was also, once, a boy who would dismantle things out of interest, but always had leftover spare parts, and they never ever worked again.
I totally want that Cyberman mask!
The little dimples or divots on the bottom plate of the tin train was for strength and rigidity. Don't forget to use machine oil on the gear set, it's almost like a clock movement.

Coool videos dude i like watching you fixing things
Scared the crap out of the flies with the drones lol.
The "disk" where green train is attached is bent, it is clearly visible in video and this is making a train to get stuck and the gears were leaving the holes in the "disk". Very easy fix
Hi Vince can you make a video show me how to remove a roller blind
Hey vince i have a queshtion if you use the mayflash and connect a controller can you play undocked also?
Hi, the Mayflash adapter would need to be connected to the Switch via a USB-C OTG cable :-)
love the cyber men mask
Doctor who has gotten pretty popular here in the US over the past few years. Netflix really kicked it off here. My high school had a whole club for it. By the way Tennant is best.
My husband and i have a few drones, we love playing with them, crash them at times and have lost a few propellers but we have always replaced them correctly. My husband had to fix a wire on his after it crashed, and the switch broke on mine but they are still playable. 🙂
Very nice fix

from orlando fl and i am a doctor who fan i like it i have not seen the older episodes

My little brother has a helmet similar to the cyberman except it’s bumblebee. It’s quite old
where do you look for broken stuff....just type in broken stock or do you have something in mind?
Hey bossman, Dr. Who is pretty popular here in the US. I sleep with a Tardis blanket!
Great video, you now have a new subscriber
Great video.
Hi I LOVE your videos
I guess DWs popular enough in New Zealand to get put on tvnz 2 for a bit and tvnz on demand
