  • I love watercolours and am always fascinated to try new supplies. I like to urban sketch so anything that is light weight and portable is certainly interesting. I already love Viviva's their Color Sheets, so I am keen to try these pans too in their unique cork palette. Although I was given these, all views here are my own.
Viviva has kindly given me a discount code to share with you, so if you like what you see go to vivivacolors.com/lizchaderton (this is an affiliate link) and use the code LIZ10 to get 10% off. They do local shipping in USA, UK and Canada and express shipping worldwide.

I'd like to see more of you actually painting other than just in your journal. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and processes with us!

I’ll add it to the list, but full paintings take so long to edit!

Stream of consciousness on seeing this in my feed:
"I don't need any more watercolour paints.
That's okay, I can go watch to learn something new. I always learn something from Liz Chaderton.
10% discount? Oh I bet they're really expensive.
Let's have a quick look at the description.
Oh for pete's sake, all those gorgeous colours for that price?
And a recycled and recyclable cork container?
Even the viridian is nice and I hate viridian.
Noooooooo, I don't need any more paint!
    Oh go on then... "

Hullo Liz, I have always thought of the Viviva paints as a “play set” for painting that is no so important. I believed that they are dye based and simply not long lasting! I believe that everyone can enjoy fun painting with no permanence not everything use be museum bound! Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas with us!

You are right! the colour sheets are dye based, so id only use them for sketching or a journal.

I want to love my Viviva colorsheets. But the Magenta is absolutely everywhere. I get covered when I hold it, I get smudges of it on my work and every single sheet now has Magenta on it. I was so dissapointed. I love the vibrancy, but that is a big drawback for me. These might be better for me.

So I am not sure but I think the Vivia pans are actually superior watercolors (made in china) packaged in a cork palette, rather then handmade watercolors like the sheets. I have used a couple of different superior watercolor palettes (one from sketchbox, one I got on amazon) and these paints seem to be identical. For what they are they are good paint, but I do not think Vivia makes the actual paint pans. :(

These paints are made in India so I'm not sure they would be the same as Superior which are made in China. I have both sets and the Viviva paints seem to be a bit creamier in comparison to Superior. Just my 2 cents.

I see that "cinnamon" as the wellknown "Naples yellow".
And may be, mixed with "perowinkle", it may create some interesting neutral colour, a coloured gray.
    Would you agree ??????
