why was the front part of the procession driving so fast?

Peter Neill I'm not sure. I believe they were signaling the procession was on the way and they may have been either heading to the cemetery or trying to get into position to block off cross streets. There's usually a few lead units like this that roll fast ahead of the procession at these funerals.

DSP Honor Guard members traveling from the ceremony to the cemetery to get set up and prepare for the burial.
