    Fantastic guide there, thanks for covering all the (current) classes and their abilities against the FP. I was hoping you might go into some lesser-known or alternative strategies, however. For instance, I remember back in Killing Floor, it was possible to kill a Fleshpound by slowly chipping away at its health, constantly breaking line-of-sight in such a way that the Fleshpound never raged. Is this technique still viable in KF2, and if so, are there any caveats to it?
    A minor thought, really. For the most part, a brilliant watch, informative and entertaining. The video footage fit with the commentary perfectly, and I was pleased at you not looking too far into the "meta-game".

    • @RichardDangles
      @RichardDangles  8 лет назад +11

      +TamiyaGuy Unfortunately Fleshpounds will stay raged until they hit a player or after 30 seconds has passed.

    • @TamiyaGuy123
      @TamiyaGuy123 8 лет назад +2

      Thanks for the reply. That was one of the caveats to the KF1 technique I mentioned. However, even then it was a (I remember) very useful strategy for Medics and low-tier Berzerkers, since if the Fleshpound ever raged (either throgh extended line-of-sight or accidental burst damage), you could let the FP hit you once, heal up, and he'd go back to his non-rage state and you continue doing small amounts of gradual damage to him.
      Not really critiquing anything here, just, y'know, sharing the wealth, as they say. And over the past three days I've been watching through almost all of your KF2 guides, despite not actually having the game installed. Cracking stuff, I say!

      TamiyaGuy in KF2 Fleshpound will rage when you are far enough or done damage to him. And by newest update it also can spawn on rage mode. Possibility for that is on suicidal = 50% and on HOE = 75% change for FP to spawn on rage mode.

      Sharpshooters can easily dispatch those chainsaw guy with Rail Gun, or similarly powerful gun with huge headshot damage.
      Back in KF1, whenever I played as a Sharpshooter, the Scrake hunting duty often falls on me, and teammates thanked me for volunteering to the duty, Berserker included(since .50BMG sniper rifle stuns Scrakes if missed, making it vulnerable to other attacks, or a follow up shot).

    7 years later, most of this information still holds, but a lot of changes happened to the meta. Still very well produced video though. One tip that was forgotten is you can sidestep it's attack just right if you take a sharp 90 degree turn at the last second. although it does require some luck and a bit of practice. Also, don't forgot to take out your melee weapon and block it's attack if you can!

    One very important thing you should have mentioned is Demo's Lvl20 Perk: On Again.
    If you throw a pipe bomb with Direct Contact on a Fleshpound, it will be staggered for a few seconds, which makes engaging them so much easier.
    1. Plant 2 C4 on the FP. (Don't get too close though)
    2. Throw a pipe directly on the FP (and use On Again when reaching Lvl20). This will stagger it.
    3. Detonate your first C4.
    4. Fire your RPG. Shortly after, the FP will have recovered and charge towards you.
    5. Detonate your second C4.
    6. Success!
    A demo can and *should* deal with a FP on his own (if 20+), as most other classes don't have enough firepower to bring FPs down quickly enough.
    Biggest problem with demo right now is the fact that it takes you 20 Levels to be decent at doing this.

    That sniper gun which costs 2500 (M99AMR) is a single shot kill on hard level, regardless which class uses it, but it has hardly enough ammo to deal with other small zeds. Lining up the Zeds in a straight line by running along the edge of a long wall allows you to kill everything with one shot because of it's 100% penetration. I have even killed two fleshpounds at once one by a fluke of luck that way. The M99AMR is so damn heavy that you can barely use anything else with it. I haven't found a light enough weapon which is good to pair with the M99AMR which allows for more of a spread of damage without maxing out what you can carry. Even the doom stick with four shot to the chest is a single shot kill. I however do enjoy Berzerker with the pulverizer, but at harder difficulty or multi-player, it tends to be easy to being killed as you get too close to them. A fully upgraded Vlad Nailgun to the head as a Bezerker does kill fleshpounds pretty quick too, but with the spread of the nails, you gotta be close up to get the maximum dole of damage. The Hemoclobber is however very handy when you get cornered by many zeds as it kills everything in a radius when using the alt-attack, and if your fleshpounds are grouped together, you can dish out damage to all of them at the same time, but you need to run around them to let them gather in the center and bleed to death. Usually takes two or three alt attacks to kill them. Can be difficult to get those Fleshpounds at times, especially on multiplayer. I have yet to learn how to play better at multiplayer and survive a hell on earth level. Been playing a few months and still haven't figured out how to survive on a hell on earth level. Oh and a few days ago I lost my entire inventory in game and I could equip the items but couldn't craft anything or even use the shop. I deleted my folder in my userdata folder and got it back. Anyone else have this issue?

  • @SoldatenTroopen
    @SoldatenTroopen 8 лет назад +15

    Fails to mention that blocking with any class using your starter knife can negate a fleshpounds damage upon successful block negating up to 95% depending on the class, that medic weapons have one of the highest natural stumble chances on knee shots and the medic assault rifle in particular is one of the best long range engagement weapons for fleshpounds and scrakes, that certain weapons can stun lock fleshpounds (more so now with the Crossbow and LAR), grenades in general at correct distances will correct the fleshpounds pathing charge to avoid it, closing a door and welding it will de-rage a fleshpound that attacks it (hopefully you unweld and save the door for later), and that in general when engaging a fleshpound with the microwave gun, aiming at the feet increases splash damage along with burst fire drastically reducing the amount of ammunition required to kill it.
    He also should be showing examples while playing Hell on Earth and not Normal difficulty to show how truly effective each class is at killing it.
    Overall, basically a re-iteration of the wikis description and tactics. 3/10 for poor tactical overview.

      Damage for Fleshpound follows the following parameters:
      Melee Drill Attack Interval: .4s
      Melee Damage multiplier against doors: 3/4/5 for hard/suicidal/hoe
      Melee Damage multiplier against players: .08/.2/.23/.25/.34/.5/.55/1 for normal/hard/suicidal/hoe/hoe+1/+2/+3/+4
      Melee Range: 250 in game distance units
      Melee Base Damage: 55
      Speed parameters:
      Walking: Randomized between the following base values of 234-268 x .87/1/1.1/1.15 Normal/Hard/Suicidal/HoE
      Running: Randomized between the following base values of 540-660 x .87/1/1.1/1.15 (same difficulty scale as above)
      Rage Speed base: 600
      Damage and Affiliated stats:
      Bleedout Time: 7s
      Penetration Resistance: 6
      Parry Resistance: 4
      Damage Recovery (Medium): .09s
      Damage Recovery (Heavy): .25s
      Chance to evade grenade: .6
      Rages at 276 damage taken
      Auto rage timer: 10-14s
      Damage to Doors (Base): 120/160/200/680 Normal/Hard/Sucidial/HoE
      Knockdown Duration: up to 1.85s
      Stun Duration: 2-4s + 1.65s (PvE) 1-1.5s - 1.65s (PvP)
      Leg Stumble Duration: 1.18-1.36s
      Stumble Duration (All other locations): 1.2-1.36s
      Parry Duration: .85-1.29s
      Hit Zones:
      Head: 1.1x
      Chest Core: 1.1x (Believed to have been changed with newest patch)
      Gauntlets: .5x
      All Other: 1x
      Player Armour Resistance:
      75-100%: 75% damage resistance
      50-74%: 65% damage resistance
      1-49%: 55% damage resistance
      So following Suicidal parameters of .23 x 2-3 x 55 = 25.3-37.95 damage taken without armour or 18.975-28.4625 damage taken from one swing as it would hit a minimum of two times to a maximim of three when having max armour.
      At the instance of 2:15-2:18, you took only 12 damage at less than 55% damage resistance meaning you could not have been on suicidal.

    Nice video, but fleshpounds in KF2 are more bullet tank like enemies, soaking up massive amounts of damage while dealing little. The KF1 fleshpound is another story, though. Even on normal it wrecks your armor in one hit and your health in miliseconds. I think thats how fleshpounds should be, dealing massive damage while having alot of health but not so much that it becomes a bullet sponge.

    • @RichardDangles
      @RichardDangles  8 лет назад +18

      +HofmanGaming Play on Suicidal or HoE, they deal plenty of damage.

    • @jefflegos
      @jefflegos 8 лет назад +2

      +HofmanGaming Yeah on anything higher than Hard, hell even on hard, they can quickly chunk you down if left unchecked. If you don't kill it before it starts it's attack, say goodbye to your armor at least.

    • @Prowbar
      @Prowbar 8 лет назад

      Still nothing compared to KF1, I played a round on normal on Westlondon and in wave 4 (I had armor), a fleshpound destroyed my armor and brought my health down to 14 in one hit. Besides, they don't send you flying backwards so you can escape quickly. A KF1 fleshpound deals massive damage while the KF2 version is just a big bullet spunge with toilet paper around his arms.

    • @jefflegos
      @jefflegos 8 лет назад +6

      HofmanGaming Yeah that doesn't happen. Especially on normal. I have over 700 hours so I've played a round or two against them. You must be remembering them incorrectly.

    What do you do if the team dies leaving you with pounds but you are playing something like commando...suicide ? Can’t heal fast enough before his auto rages can’t outrun him aside from some map locations most rifles have no power to kill him fast enough for 6 players

      You should hopefully have close to full armor. If u positioned correctly. If you do you parry it out. Parry get distance shoot. Repeat. Hopefully zed times added in.

    Just something I wanted to add as he was talking about the gunslinger class I’m not saying I am an expert or anything but the one thing I know about the gunslinger is he is a headshot class with all of the perks leaning more towards headshots and the added bonus off pistols doing more headshot damage, the perk rack em up is by far the most OP perk in the game I’ve been able to take down fleshpounds with less than ten shots from my 500 magnums as long as I have the headshot counter at five the stumble perk is utterly useless because you have to shoot at the chest or limbs which negates that perks specialty which is headshots. And besides you know what slows down zeds more than stumble? A dead zed

    The AA-12 for support would be good, yes. It is a very easy to use weapon for anyone playing support, but what you REALLY wanna do is use the double barrel. Put it right in their face aiming directly at their forehead and use the alt-fire for both barrels at once. This, if done correctly, will make him stumble back allowing you to reload and repeat this process until he’s dead. I use the increased reload speed perk so idk if you can do this without it. This strat also works for skrakes.

    I need to menchen, that with a RPG you can use the impact dmg to kill him, it will also cause a knockdown if your lucky. Also if you go for the impact dmg , ALWAYS AIM FOR THE HEAD. It will do MASSIVE dmg on impact.

  • @Sol-xu3vr
    @Sol-xu3vr 7 лет назад

    the siren is more deadly and even more deadly when you are taking on scrakes and fleshpounds this is because even with body armor they do damage to your health but i see they dont do as much damage but it is still good to take out the sirens so your demolitions can kill the crowd and help take done the scrake or fleshpound

For example being a Sharp Shooter while welding doors and heal teammates, thanks for your help !

      +Richard Dangles My advice is go Zerk and get a Pulverizer a fp dies even faster then a Scrake from that, i also recommend a medic that keeps you alive.
      I´ve also played around with Demo you can choose the level 5 Bonus On Impact you can stun a Felshpound if you hit him with your Demo Nades it will stun him, means your Zerk can get a few extra hits on him without taking Damage. And also as a Medic you can shoot any big Zed in the Feet with the Medic Rifle, it has the highest Stumble power in the game.
