I made a promise with myself this year that I would make use use of all the items I wasn't wearing or was scared to wear (or accidentally ruin). So, I took pictures and created 5 outfits each with the items I don't usually wear. I remembered why I purchased the items, and I feel like I've just expanded my wardrobe without purchasing anything new. I surprised myself with how many different ways I could style unused accessories and clothes/shoes.
Love this video, and thank you for including prices I find a lot of videos like this don’t include the prices which is annoying when you’re trying to plan a trip. Can’t wait to go back to there, so many great places in this video *gtdupe*
Lol $7000 on a bag is ridiculous there are more important things in life than a $7000 bag. I’ll take the *jklux* in this case because I can’t afford the real thing.
I purchased the handbag organizer from Autumn Beckman’s channel. You don’t need it, but it has helped me be more mindful of switching out bags & keeping them clean/conditioned/ etc. I’m using the pretty things I seem to save for a special occasion more often.
I love organizer inserts! Just don’t feel I should’ve bought such a ridiculously expensive one 😂 but lesson learned! And yes, enjoy those special items more often! 💕
Break that tweed rule and use that Chanel bag whenever the heck you want! You spent your money, make your own rules! That’s what I do, I’m impractical and whimsical; and wear my fashion items out of season, and dare anyone to give me the side eye. 😂
Hi Hannah! I really appreciated your video on cost-per-wear for luxury items. It’s such a good reminder to think carefully about our purchases. I’ve also made a few impulsive buys that just don’t fit into my lifestyle. Your advice on considering practicality and personal style before buying is spot on. Thanks for sharing your honest experiences and lessons learned!
Thanks! I take care of my items all the same, really. No special treatment. Doesn’t matter if they’re from Hermes or The Gap 😂 I want all my things to last.
All absolutely gorgeous items, esp. the shawl, & the brown Chanel loafers . I hear you on the Blahnik shoes (buying pretty things that we don't end up using). I'm also considering the Triomphe belt so it was helpful to hear your perspective.
The black Hermes scarf most certainly goes with everything. I think the blue one also goes with everything. Considering you are a neutral clothing gal, the blue would be stunning against all the neutrals.
I do love your scarf with golden lines in it. I am a scarf person 😅 believe me i use scarves for bag handles for my hair for shoulder even more if i think more 😅😅😅
The white manolo blahniks are gorgeous! I find it hard when the feeling isnt strong in the beginning but after habitually wearing something for awhile i start to love the item.
All these items are still very gorgeous. I still want a Celine triomphe belt. But I want it in white! Also, I never fell victim to 7RP. I was like oh no that’s way too much for an organizer!! DGAZ and Zoomoni for the win!! One of my worst cost per wear purchases is a Bottega bag I have that I haven’t worn at all 😢. I’ve had it since Christmas last year and I just haven’t touched it at all!! Also a pair of Bottega heels. I love to look at them and I got them from the private sale for a steal but I have yet to wear them😭!
I love your Manolos! Gray and black are my go to neutrals. I would wear those in the offices. We dress business casual, so they would make me feel more dressed up.
Agree on the dark brown color in general not working with my wardrobe as well. My worst cpw are definitely my H bags 🫠. Don’t think I will ever wear them enough to make them cheap enough.
Excellent topic. How to bring out the guilt and all of us!😂. I live in an urban environment and rarely use my jumbo. Not letting her go. But cost per wear is ridiculously high. Agree about my Kelly 28. Tend to pick out my smaller bags when I’m walking. It’s more of a ladies who lunch bag still love her and she’s not going anywhere.
I literally laughed out loud at the recycled trash comment, priceless.😂 Cost per wear is a great way to look at things go decide either to sell or keep as well as keep from making the same mistake again. My issue for years was buying bags with too many zippered compartments. Finally realized they drove me nuts and I just ended up neglecting them. Now I simply avoid.
I thought the black manolos are lovely. I don’t think they scream overdressed since they are dark grey. Would you consider pairing with navy color wardrobe? Your shawl is quintessential French, keep it. It goes nicely with a blazer in the fall.
I agree with you on the Birkin. I sold one when I could get my money back. Am considering selling the one I have left. I am an enthusiast as well but I would definitely not do it again. I also will not buy Chanel shoes brand new again either.
I have a few Hermes scarves that could be part of my worse cost per wear (and a couple that could make the best cost per wear list-cashmere) but they wouldn't top my LV PM Capcines, Chanel Deauville Tote (drop is too short) or the Talbot Runhof Mother of the Bride dress that I had altered but didn't wear because the venue changed. I really should try to get more use out of those items because they are still terrific! 💞
You just created a whole look for me! Thank you! (Minus the Orans - I’ve never found them to be comfy enough but I’ve got another pair of tan sandals from Manolo). 💕
From different angles, I don’t find bottega Veneta bags are user friendly. It hurt my shoulder when use as crossbody ( the city knot bag); very difficult closure. I did an impulse buy in Italy on the candy loop bag which can’t fit my phone. Foulard- required a seat itself. Sardine - top heavy, hurt my arm. My bv hate list is quite extensive sadly. I manage incorporating them with my outfits and use them regularly. Won compliments all the time. I fell for their beauty, the vanity they bring me. But the “ sacrifice “ I have to make for that is also sigh …
this reminds me to break out my fendi baguette i haven't worn in a while. i basically wore it all last summer, but i have other bags that got into rotation. my worst are probably these gucci platforms (they are were special occasion shoes anyways, but hard to walk in). though i recently lost a lot of weight and they aren't as bad now. I also have a sequined nano baguette that i don't wear a ton, but don't regret the purchase.
Very few ‘luxury’ purchases are practical so I really don’t worry about cost-per-wear. However, I do have some impulse purchases that, like your shoes, are not worth selling.
Bought an Amazon dupe for the larger Celine belt, I like it but don’t love it, then I bought a thinner belt with smaller size Celine buckle, that’s a better version to accessorize then outfit without screaming Celine. I like the Celine logo, but I am growing tired of the big version logo.
Just my two cents…if you don’t love something and don’t really plan to use it then you should sell it because it’s just collecting dust, taking up space and could bring joy to someone else. For instance, I would buy the Chanel clutch from you today. I think she’s gorgeous and I would rock her all year round. J. 👜
My worst cost per wear currently... Longchamp Neo Large- never used since I bought it last year to serve as an overnighter (was actually a replacement for my worn-out Lacoste). But I also bought a Doughnut backpack and gravitate towards that for trips instead. Backpack is just comfier for me and the capacity is just right. Longchamp Large is apparently too big for me. YSL mini duffel bag - the opening of a boston style bag is annoying imo. It's also quite heavy when packed. Being a speedy 20 sized bag, it's too big for everyday so I haven't used it. It's cheap 2nd hand so I don't feel as bad. Loewe Mini Flamenco- Because it's off white color and suede-lined, I feel I need to baby it. I have the Songmont mini bag in ivory which I use more as my light-colored bag but even that has color transfer already and I do not want color transfer on my Loewe. Kate Spade WOC-style crossbody- Bought as a tester bag before I buy the Chanel WOC. My wallet doesn't fit with my other essentials in it. I do not want to buy the Chanel just as an occasion bag, I want to abuse it, but because I'm not the type to change wallets so I think the Chanel WOC is not for me. I also gravitate for a more sparkly statement bag for events anyway.
I think the larger Longchamp totes would be more useful for travel if they were designed with a luggage/trolley sleeve. Smart to test out the WOC style before committing. Now you know! 😉
@@hellocatwalkcity Definitely! Idk why they don't release one with it when they're many people's fave travel bag. Personally I always use a backpack with luggage sleeve when travelling with a suitcase and use a non-roller bag pn roadtrips
I have the same speedy but not with the strap. Hardly used it. Now that LV supports terror I had a Jewish symbol in gold hand painted now I will use it more.
I can relate to the scarf situation. I see colors would look so nice but always wear black base scarf as it goes with my mostly black closet. BTW, what size is your black and gold scarf. What size and It is cashmere and silk blend or 100 percent silk? I am looking for a bit of warmth but not overly warm scarf to wear in air-con room or on the plane. Thanks!
Great video. I think you’re wrong on not selling them. I think these days someone will buy them. Yes, you get back what you paid , but you should get something back.
I made a promise with myself this year that I would make use use of all the items I wasn't wearing or was scared to wear (or accidentally ruin). Brilliant 💕
Great strategy 👏
Excellent idea!❤
Love this!!

$600 for an insert?!! I can get another mid level luxury bag with that price. Guuurrrlll, you know its just hyped up influencer BS.
That thing better be 100% silk!
Hype + stupidity. I’ll be the first to admit it. 😂 🙈
Lol $7000 on a bag is ridiculous there are more important things in life than a $7000 bag. I’ll take the *jklux* in this case because I can’t afford the real thing.
I love the scarf!

Wise! 💕

Combining modern aesthetics with exquisite craftsmanship, becoming synonymous with the luxury goods field

So glad you enjoyed the video! It’s a good reminder for us all!
I started a system where I designate certain bags for certain months- this has helped me use some lesser reached for bags.
Oh that’s interesting!
I love shawls! Would love to see how you take care of your high value clothing pieces!
Thanks! I take care of my items all the same, really. No special treatment. Doesn’t matter if they’re from Hermes or The Gap 😂 I want all my things to last.

You’re probably right. I’m excited to try the navy shawl with some whites this summer.
All of my designer bags have a nice matching insert from Amazon. 😮
I would absolutely keep that beautiful never worn shawl. It is gorgeous.
Keeping it for now. 😊
Gosh you have such great taste in all your luxury purchases - I’m dyinggg over those Chanel boots ❤️❤️❤️
Oh thank you!!
Spending 600usd on a bag insert, to me is like spending 600usd on knickers. It’s essentially bag underwear….600usd?!?!?!
😂 😂 😂 Can’t argue with that! It was a bad purchase.
Thank you so much for sharing and for your transparency! I really appreciate and love all your videos ❤
I do love your scarf with golden lines in it. I am a scarf person 😅 believe me i use scarves for bag handles for my hair for shoulder even more if i think more 😅😅😅
Happy to report - It’s getting much more use these days! 😊
The white manolo blahniks are gorgeous! I find it hard when the feeling isnt strong in the beginning but after habitually wearing something for awhile i start to love the item.
Perhaps once I start wearing the grey Manolos, I’ll start to appreciate them.
I always find these types of videos incredibly enlightening! Thank you for sharing!
Also this video is making me think twice about the Celine belt because I totally agree that I’d likely use my black Kelly belt for the same purpose!
Exactly!

The Hermes scarf and be art like you said or you can tie it into different types of tops
True, it’s a versatile piece if I experiment with it. Thank you!
The insert is $600 - damn - that's a contemporary handbag price - leather.
Don’t know what I was thinking 😩
I love your Manolos! Gray and black are my go to neutrals. I would wear those in the offices. We dress business casual, so they would make me feel more dressed up.
I think you can wear your tweed clutch in the summer. I’ve seen tweed summer dresses.
I may have to try it!
Agree on the dark brown color in general not working with my wardrobe as well.
My worst cpw are definitely my H bags 🫠. Don’t think I will ever wear them enough to make them cheap enough.
Exactly! Agree on both points.

Your brown loafers would go well with your LV speedy
That excellent Speedy travel bag can be passed down, definitely a keeper!
Says my daughter as well. 🤭
600 dollars!!!!! I know they are expensive (I never considered them) but 600!!! and they are overhyped by influencers and paid promotions
So overhyped and so not worth it.
I literally laughed out loud at the recycled trash comment, priceless.😂 Cost per wear is a great way to look at things go decide either to sell or keep as well as keep from making the same mistake again. 🤣 My girl can be brutal with her words sometimes! But there’s truth in it, right? 😆
$600 for an insert?! YIKES. You drank the Kool-aid on that purchase. - the Birkin & Speedy are beautiful, BTW.
Definitely drank the Koolaid and it tasted bitter!!! 🤣
I like the black Hermes scarf more❤❤❤

Surprised to see the Birkin 30cm there… great vid. ❤

The Chanel O Case can deffo be worn in summer in my opinion ....I picture it with light wash jeans, a tucked white shirt and tan or black orans 👌
You just created a whole look for me! Thank you! (Minus the Orans - I’ve never found them to be comfy enough but I’ve got another pair of tan sandals from Manolo). 💕
@@hellocatwalkcity Happy to help 😊 My bags have no seasonal rest, I make them work all year 😆

Love your large chaine d’ancre ring! It’s been on my wish list. Is it comfortable? Worth it?
Yes it’s comfortable, especially bc the back is open!
I have the same speedy but not with the strap. Hardly used it. Now that LV supports terror I had a Jewish symbol in gold hand painted now I will use it more.
What’s the name of the Hermès scarf with the line design/topography of a horse. I’d love to buy it someday. Thank you so much!
Great video, hope your well hon ❤

It’s not Everlane Day Crossover to a Hermes Sandal
???
If you think about selling your Speedy B, let me know. ;)
Madewell bracelets broke and handkerchiefs have color bled - not Everlane ever with reallyvresponsive customer service
Great video. I think you’re wrong on not selling them. I think these days someone will buy them. Yes, you get back what you paid , but you should get something back.
Madewell is not as color fast as Everlane
I am available for donations for all the stuff that you don’t feel like it was worth the money.. let me know when I can stop by to pick it up 😂😂😂
😂 😂 😂
7RP insert…..Nope!!!!
just dye your chanel loafers black.
Or wear them with jeans. I love the look of brown shoes with jeans! 💕
Yes I’ll wear them with jeans!
okay i’m all for a bag insert but $600?? that’s how much i bought my speedy 25 for 🤯
I know! Stupidest purchase ever! 🤦🏻♀️
