  • This clip is from a Jordan Peterson lecture. In it the psychologist talks about the great philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche and explains his famous line ''God is Dead''. Like always he explains the philosophy behind it then he gives a psychological perspective on this issue.

Interesting comparison. Buddhism and Hinduism let us know that the duality is an illusions and the separation of opposites is an illusion. You cannot have light without dark. You can’t know happiness without suffering and sadness. So to say there is no up or down they are the same thing both are required for the other to be present. Everything is on a spectrum that goes beyond our understanding to make a closed loop. These practitioners of the belief realize this oneness and come to the conclusion that life is suffering in some cases. I don’t quite understand this belief but it seems to be similar to what Peterson is saying Niche is saying from his god is dead statement.

This man is a clinical psychologist, not a lecturer in philosophy. Know your place in the lecture hall Mr. Peterson.
