Thank you so much! I've been wanting to learn this song for a long time, and there's a severe lack of Avett tutorials out there. You are a fantastic teacher; keep up the great work!

Thanks for the pdf. It was really helpful. I've looked for something simple for this song for several years! You don't know how much I appreciate your effort on this song! Thanks man!!
glad to see you throwing out tutorials again -- nice work here. I put up a cover of this a few years back, but never felt like I got it quite perfect. in concert I want to say I've seen scott using a pick for this, but I've never been able to do anything besides fingerstyle on it.
+floydiustube thanks for watching. I've played right handed with a pick and using my fingers at the same time but every time I've seen him play it, he's played finger style.
ahh this is so amazing and have ALWAYS wanted to know how he plays it. this finger picking is JUST out of my skill level because i always use a pick, if you lived me near id pay for a lesson! hah thank you so much.
+Chris Gates hey man thanks for the comment. If we lived close enough I definitely give you a lesson. Just keep practicing and maybe one day it'll all click and you'll start fingerpicking. When I played right-handed I didn't start learning to play with my fingers for several years then one day all of the sudden it all made sense to me and I started playing pretty well. It takes different time for all of us.
Hey if you can, I really want to learn how to play February seven, I saw you made a video of you playing it, and I tried to find some good tutorials but no one has any decent tutorials. So I was hoping you could help out? I also just finished learning murder in the city thanks to this video! It helped a lot!
I really like how you play the song. But i do wish you had a tab to play along with it and possibly splitting it up a bit more to focus on certain sections and to show picking pattern a little better. Overall I give this like an 8/10. It's hard to find a really good tutorial on The Avett Brothers' songs.
This is awesome -- thank you so much! I can't seem to put my 4th finger down on the G string in the first part of the intro..... any tips? I'm using the open B, but of course, that makes the phrasing hard. Also, do you do the Avett Brothers Colorado Girl song?
+Tudor Ionel I have a movement disorder in my right hand called focal dystonia which made it impossible for me to hold a pick or play finger style. So I started to learn left handed so I could continue playing music to the best of my ability.
im not saying all of this was bad, because in the end i still learned (for the most part lol), but you kept going over certain parts that left us to just fill in the blanks. this is supposed to be a tutorial, not a puzzle. i was so unnecessarily confused throughout this entire video. regardless, thank you for this. nobody else i’ve seen so far teaches it quite like you!
He's not getting rich doing all these for free. I've searched everywhere and this is the best instruction on this song I could find on the internet. Old timers who learned to play had to listen to the recording on a record and figure it out so this video is quite the luxury (but a crutch as well) Did you learn to play this song?

Your lesson is first rate, easy to follow and so perfectly melodic.

Did you learn this song? I started it from this tutorial a couple weeks ago
Thank you!! I love this song and I've been wanting to find a better way to play it. I'm still learning, but this helps so much! Please do more! :)
The chord/lyric link is broken. :-(
I really appreciate this video. Super nice detail and completely inspired by how you have overcome your condition and continue to play.

Link isn’t working - anyone else having this same problem?
Hey any chance you still got the chord sheet? Trying to learn this song.
Could I request a copy of the chord chart? the link isn't working. Thank you!
Hey CJ can I make a request for a avett brothers song? Can you play live and die?
John Duke hello. I already have that one on this channel just go back and search through my videos.
why did you switch to left handed playing?
+Tudor Ionel I have a movement disorder in my right hand called focal dystonia which made it impossible for me to hold a pick or play finger style. So I started to learn left handed so I could continue playing music to the best of my ability.
Oh i'm sorry to hear that. :(
