- Europe is home to many large wild open spaces but it used to be home to a lot more. As the human population has grown over Europe, we have displaced many of our native animals. Thankfully not everybody is happy to watch animals disappear and go extinct and there are many ongoing rewilding and reintroduction projects across Europe. In this video i will be going through just a few of the ongoing rewilding and reintroduction programs as i will be going through 5 ongoing European rewilding and reintroduction programs.

Thanks for watching i hope you enjoyed :)
I'm suprised you didn't included European Bison they baisicly went from extinct in the wild to near threatend and they are an amaizing sucess story
You should do the largest animal from each continent ever
They would all be sauropods 😹
Every single one of them would be a sauropod lol, maybe the largest animal on each continent in the cenozoic would be more interesting
Even if we're going with the ones still alive, we might also need to distinguish between native and invasive species. For example, Autralia has feral camels and water buffalo that are roaming the continent, but the largest native species is probably the red kangaroo.
Good point@@CrownofMischief
How about what the largest animal on each continent was prior to the arrival of humans? So for Australia, it would be Diprotodon.
I think great case is that of Przewalski horses. They were saved by captive breeding, but they are being quite sucesfully reintroduced back to their natural habitat in Mongolia.
I’m glad the pine Marten, we’re back now
Aww, you didn't talk about Beavers being reintroduced all over Europe, and more recently in the UK.
They're incredibly beneficial animals, and I think more people need to know, so they can support reintroductions.
They even recently reintroduced Beavers to Ealing (in London), in the hopes they'll boost rewinding efforts there, and also prevent flooding by increasing the water capacity of the Ealing wetlands.
yeah the only reason i didn't include them is because I've included that story in other videos
I love these videos. I don't live in Europe, but the stories of its wildlife and how theres been ongoing efforts to bring them back are truly beautiful, hopefully bison, wild horses and auroches can help aid in the rewinding of Europe but more importantly I hope that lab grown crops and meats gain more traction as this will allow more crops to be grown without having to destroy more forest and other habitats for farming
Love seeing all the good news! I’d also spotlight the European bison, European beaver, and Przewalski’s horse
Very interesting video and information. We need to protect nature
I’m a bit surprised the European Bison wasn’t mentioned in this video, they’re story is the probably one of the most incredible conservation ones in the world, Eurasian Beavers also probably would have been good candidates to mention.
But still good video mate, it’s nice to hear that some of these other amazing animals are starting to do a bit better.
Yeah I've been through the European bison's story in a few other videos so i didn't include it in this one
@@TsukiCove ah well that makes sense.
Cheers for the information mate, also apparently there has been a reintroduced in Scotland for the Wildcat, perhaps you could do a video on them if you haven’t already.
Good thing these animals have a place to call home again
This just makes me so happy 😊
Glad we don’t have this problem in Romania, our nature is wild and the best preserved in all of Europe.
We had a reintroduction project. With the bison ( zimbru)
@@dariusmicluta4415 yes and it a cena really successful real fast cause of the untouched nature, in fact it was the first country where this project worked by releasing them into the wild
@@dacian_1346 I looooooove Romania. I'm from Portugal. Your country is beautiful
Half your country immigrants to other country's no shock there's room for animals
I love rewilding and reintroduction

Thank you for including all the footage you put into your videos! As someone in AP Photography right now it's amazing when I'm able to see people's works credited and check out their portfolios, maybe even find a few tricks along the way!
nice video as always
Fantastic Video as always!! :) 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 💖❤️💖❤️
What a wonderful video, we don't get to see too many positive videos like this. Thank you Tsuki for your research very much appreciated.
I’m always so exacted when I see a new video ❤
Another banger! Thanks Tsuki ❤
Seeing that this rewilding projects are going is heartwarming. My favourite one would have to be about beavers being reintroduced as considering climate change, they are definitely needed.
I really love animals. Sometimes it is hard to understand everything on your channel, because I'm not native speaker. Watching your channel is useful for learning English and increasing my knowledge about animals and nature. I really appreciate your work and time spent on making those videos! I just want to say really Thank You!
Nice list and kudos on seeing the Common Cranes 🙂👍
Yo tsuki! Love your videos man. And btw I think you would enjoy Twycross Zoo quite a lot. I was there like 2 weeks ago and had a great time. They focus alot on conservation and they have an awesome selection of animals:)
I see cranes up here at Washington wetlands centre as well. Very beautiful birds 💖
The common crane is naturally coming back to Ireland too. Probably a side effect to the rewinding in the UK.
Love your videos
Amazing Video XD
Love your videos.
thanks i really appreciate it :)
As you rightly said we dont own this planet, we share it ❤❤❤
Your Common crane feels the same as my Whooping crane (Im from Texas). Love these reintroducing stories!
I loved this video. It is so good to see some success stories, where we humans are trying to reverse some of the wrongs we have perpetrated. It's why I'm a member of Mossy Earth ❤
Nice video as usual
Could you make a videos about less knowing mammals from around the world.
for example:
Tree squirrels species of Africa(more species live in Africa than North America and Europe combine)
Skunk of asia (also known as sunda badger)
Canin species of South America ( the continent highest number of wild canin)
Mustelidae species from family ( Ictonychinae and Ferret-badger )
Hey Tsuki, I was wondering if you could talk about the comeback of wolves in the Netherlands in one of your videos? Thanks in advance I love your vids.
Here's our Tsuki. Thanks, mate! Cheers
i cant wait
many people don't know butt sable martens and elk (cervus canadensis) used to live in EUROPE
the sable marten was extirpated from scandinavia a few centuries ago for there fur
and the elk hasn't been seen in central and eastern Europe for 3 millennia
i we can reintroduce muskox back to Europe we should also reintroduce these 2
We do have elks in Romania tho… 😅
@@dacian_1346 what kind of elk
i don't mean moose
i mean the other elk
(cervus canadensis)
@@mrpeddlethesealion yes elks… there are no mooses in Europe
@@dacian_1346 yes there are though? Sweden has had many issues related to Moose before.
@@Kingsaxxy3872 mooses are only in America, the ones in Europe are called elks
Poland is working on reintroducing the Aurochs.
Great video , we have cranes in Scotland but I’ve yet to see them. I made a video about the value of ecotourism to Scotland, looking at white-tailed eagles on Mull. They’ve had a significant impact economically and continue to generate wealth on the island today. Rewilding will undoubtedly bring huge benefits ecologically and economically if it is fully embraced by our governments.
You should make a video on the Tauros Programme
have you ever considered what animals/plants you would send to colonize other planets?
My country (the Netherlands) doesn't paint a pretty picture when it comes to rewilding and it's problems. Wolves have exploded back into our nature reserves by spreading from Germany. They have spread almost towards the middle of our country within 3-4 years and their population is growing. Problem is, farmers in the eastern parts of this country are very much into sheep and pony keeping and the wolves have taken to attacking them especially the sheep. Instead of looking for solutions and listening to biologists, ecologists and other experts and setting out a general plan there's been a very intense lobby and media demonisation campaign by the agricultural sector and its political allies based on fear and arguments like: "We as a country don't have the space for them!", "They will attack people!", "Now I can't have pet sheep!" or: "How are supposed to enjoy the little bit of nature when it's dangerous!" Obviously there are solutions for that but, they'll cost money and require actually committing to transitioning agricultural away from the Dutch model of hyper-intense agriculture which already was slowly nut surely and increasingly fast collapsing. The E.U is an obstacle to the outright hunting of wolves because, they're heavily protected but, that has fed into Euroscepticism and other far right tendencies. With elections at the end of this month, I fear the worst for the wolves (6 packs have already found their way to the wildest places to be found in our country and they had pups this spring and summer). It would be tragedy if the human territorial response and fear would drive them to extinction again.
didnt know the common crane was that threatend in the uk. up here in northen sweden they are so common you can see hundreds out on the fields sometimes.
Forest of Dean is in england
Can you make more african against other ecosystems videos?
They need that rabbit deseas to control the overpopulation over wild rabbits in Australia, although their numbers have been brought down in the last 15 years despite the struggle
How about wolves in the Netherlands
Croatia has most brown bears in Europe, except in Russia..we have over 1000 brown bears!!!and I'm proud of it!!and pine Marten is on Croatian Cote of Arms, and it was name of Croatian money, before we got Euro this year!!!thank you Tsuki for this video!!!
Really? Most sources say Romania has the most Brown Bears.
@englandrules3872 maybe after them then...idk, probably our portals lie...but for a small country, we have a lot of them...thanks for the info
@@AnteGV1950 no problem and good on you lot for protecting them! Wish my country still had them.
@@Kingsaxxy3872 I just read it...there are around 5000 in Romania..you were right!!it's sad that they destroyed everything...I played AC Valhalla, and it's nice to roam thru England!!there were a lot animals in England in 9th century..haha!!
Id like to see African reintroduced species

Tell him I’m sorry for this black wildebeest nonsense sometimes I get hard on me cause I’m a big annoying beast
Oh, so Europe lost its lynx? I had herd of the missing lynx.
Well not so missing anymore as they have started to reappear in many places now
Why is this only a thing for Europe?
Part of me wants this to happen with jaguars that we’re once in America but that’s probably a bad idea
Aren’t they coming back? I’m sure a big male was spotted in Arizona or California.
@@Kingsaxxy3872 yeah but I’m talking about introducing a population of jaguars into North America
Can we have a video of the explosion in shark population of Florida??
As someone from austria i can say most ppl are NOT happy about bears and wolves comming back. Ppl are scared. Especially wolves becuase of lifestock.
It's a shame we are focussing to much on predators.
The moor landscaped in Western europe are dying because we use sheep to maintain it. But now wolves are back in many of those areas those sheep are disappearing.
It can be solved by adding reindeer back into western europe nature.
Because they don't need cliff's to get away from wolves.
Sadly nobody thought of this and now the wolf is getting alot of bad press.
So before reintroducing predators we need to be sure their prey is available. Else it could have negative consequences.
(This is mainly based on what I see happening in the Netherlands)
