Because the entire sport is about ego-lifting, not doing any proper, beautiful movements. Powerlifters will flock to defend a wide stance awkward ass squat, and try to sway you into thinking that it's okay, but just look at their "proper" bench form. A complete joke sport

I accept he may have met the competition rules. However for an effective range of motion squat his feet are two wide and his hip joint doesn't go below his knee joint. It would be far more impressive if it was 70lb lighter but met that criteria.
