What's funny is that I used to hate martial arts (taekwondo) for 6 years. But after watching the ip man movie and realizing there are different types of fighting styles (sad I know). I didn't even know bruce lee was. I never realized how important he was and how the concept of Jeet Kune Do was so important, well to me anyways. I am now doing both kickboxing and wing chun and tbh it's both fun and a good learning experience.

But I remember the 1st time I seen him in TV at the age of 11 or 12 it was like a life changer for me being fasinated and in love with sport and him. Bruce Lee was only 125 pounds when he died. He was not healthy, he took many cortizone shots to relieve his back pain. He overworked himself, did not eat right and was not sleeping. If you notice he was tiny in "Enter The Dragon." I loved Bruce , but man, he went 100 mph all the time Chuck Norris, Leo Fong and Dan Inosanto said Bruce Lee never stopped training, never let his body heal. It's like lifting weights 3 hours everyday for 10 years and not eating or resting to heal. Eventually you will die, the body shuts down.
I agree. He was fanatical. I feel like in a way the people who were his friends didn't really look out for him the way they should have done, and I know he didn't really take great care of himself. It's very sad all around. I'm small myself but he weighed even less than I do in enter the dragon. I feel like his death could have been prevented. He passed out like 6 months before dubbing enter the dragon from the exact same thing. He was saved then.

I buy the accidental death version of Bruce Lee. It is common enough that one can deem an aneurism the 'superfit' syndrome. Particularly with martial arts, micro-arterial fissuring from impact trauma creates the risk of dislodgements from the affected areas. The preceding headaches are a tell tale sign of this, and prescribed medications back then were notorious for aiding, rather than relieving in aneurismic risks. Medications that aim to dissolve trauma affected arterial regions have been banned in recent times for precisely this reason (increased likelihood of dislodgements and aneurisms in the brain). What is much more controversial is how Brandon died. Allegedly, live rounds were emptied of their gun powder rather than the use of blanks or theatrical special weapons effects, but the wrong ones were inserted. It was a live round that killed Brandon Lee. I find it completely odd, in 1994, that one would even contemplate the use of live round gun powder siphoning. It offers absolutely no advantage in terms of cost or effect, and the risk is ever present because at point blank range (it is said to have been the scene immediately prior to him being thrown out of the apartment window), a small amount of powder residue could be lethal. I have heard talk about why they forgot which ones were live and not, but never why they chose to siphon live rounds in the first place. It just wasn't done (for point blank imitation). An overlay of special sound effect is required. The choice of a live round makes no sense. It wasnt a certain death sentence, but a highly probable one. It was literally a 'fatal' decision to siphon live rounds, and i have never heard any explanation as to why it was done in the first place. Perhaps you cannot underestimate human stupidity, but this just doesn't make sense on a movie set, given the conscious choice that would have had to have been made in using live rounds at point blank.

What's funny is that I used to hate martial arts (taekwondo) for 6 years. But after watching the ip man movie and realizing there are different types of fighting styles (sad I know). I didn't even know bruce lee was. I never realized how important he was and how the concept of Jeet Kune Do was so important, well to me anyways. I am now doing both kickboxing and wing chun and tbh it's both fun and a good learning experience.
This makes very sad. All 3 idols of mine are all dead. And Bruce Lee was already gone but I was even born. But I remember the 1st time I seen him in TV at the age of 11 or 12 it was like a life changer for me being fasinated and in love with sport and him. Till to this day.. but I love the legacy of him and watching him & loving everything about him. And there of course are sad things u don't wanna hear about his death and stuff but I like to hear how live and remember that not how he died. Bruce Lee was only 125 pounds when he died. He was not healthy, he took many cortizone shots to relieve his back pain. He overworked himself, did not eat right and was not sleeping.

I buy the accidental death version of Bruce Lee. It is common enough that one can deem an aneurism the 'superfit' syndrome. Particularly with martial arts, micro-arterial fissuring from impact trauma creates the risk of dislodgements from the affected areas. The preceding headaches are a tell tale sign of this, and prescribed medications back then were notorious for aiding, rather than relieving in aneurismic risks. Medications that aim to dissolve trauma affected arterial regions have been banned in recent times for precisely this reason (increased likelihood of dislodgements and aneurisms in the brain).
What is much more controversial is how Brandon died. Allegedly, live rounds were emptied of their gun powder rather than the use of blanks or theatrical special weapons effects, but the wrong ones were inserted. It was a live round that killed Brandon Lee. I find it completely odd, in 1994, that one would even contemplate the use of live round gun powder siphoning. It offers absolutely no advantage in terms of cost or effect, and the risk is ever present because at point blank range (it is said to have been the scene immediately prior to him being thrown out of the apartment window), a small amount of powder residue could be lethal. I have heard talk about why they forgot which ones were live and not, but never why they chose to siphon live rounds in the first place. It just wasn't done (for point blank imitation). An overlay of special sound effect is required. The choice of a live round makes no sense. It wasnt a certain death sentence, but a highly probable one. It was literally a 'fatal' decision to siphon live rounds, and i have never heard any explanation as to why it was done in the first place. Perhaps you cannot underestimate human stupidity, but this just doesn't make sense on a movie set, given the conscious choice that would have had to have been made in using live rounds at point blank.
