I love Black Pudding and Haggis. Yours looks GREAT and I bet it smells absolutely marvellous. Great video and very interesting to listen to you. Keep your videos coming.
Stornoway is the best Black Pudding up here in Scotland, love it and love Haggis too but not tried that kind, now on my list to try.Glad you enjoyed them both
It was good to catch you on the live, was knackered though so couldn't keep my eyes open!... Don't change things too much, you're loved just the way you are! A decent down to earth fella with a giving us all a bit of better light through the dark days. Thank you for everything Hope your good lady had a smashing birthday 💖✌
From Stornoway originally, so was surprised when I seen the title. Glad you enjoyed, I'm sure others have mentioned but I would give Mcleod & Mcleod a try also. Now you've had proper Black Pudding nothing else will suffice!
Just watching that whilst tucking into Charles McLaeod fruit pudding and white pudding. I brought back the haggis and black pudding from a recent Scotland trip. It was gone in 3 days so just ordered some more the other day. Lovely stuff.
It looks very nice, I used to love peppery white pudding. With fried spuds and donnelley skinless sausages for 🥣 breakfast. Lately its just a bit of toast as I run out the door.
I was a professional chef in Scotland and Stornoway Black Pudding is the only one we would use. We often served it as a starter topped with a pigeon breast and a game sauce. I regret that it is so hard to find where I currently live in England.
You lucky so and so Gareth!... What a fantastic food parcel. I absolutely love Black Pudding, and Haggis too... You were sent top quality produce there my friend... Many years ago when i was a young man, and living in a council flat... We had a local Corner Shop nearby, and right at the back of the shop, it had a Delicatessen... And i kid you not... they sold the most delicious cold meats you could imagine, Beef... Pork... Chicken... Turkey... etc, as well as high quality freshly made Pies... Pasties... Quiches... Scotch Eggs... Pate's... Potted Meat... And all their cold meats, were freshly sliced on an electric meat slicer, from large joints they kept in a chilled display counter... Although they were more expensive than the ordinary factory prepacked meat selections available... the taste was out of this world. I wish more shops sold quality produce like this today... Unfortunately though, only a few true Delicatessens are still trading these days... But one of the things i used to buy from them as a treat for myself, was Stornoway Black Pudding... In my opinion, it really is the best Black Pudding you can buy... and believe me, I've tried many different Black Puddings over the years... Some have come close to their fantastic taste, but they've still fallen short though. I think that there's lots of horrible Black Puddings out there too... I think that if you're going to introduce Black Pudding to someone who's never tried it before... You must let them try a top quality Black Pudding like this... Don't buy one of those cheap and nasty supermarket ones... Personally i love Black Pudding, whether it's pan fried or just served cold straight from the fridge... This really was a terrific food parcel my friend... A big thank you to your anonymous foodie too, for their big heart and generosity... Those items won't have been cheep either, you really do have to pay a premium for that kind of size and quality... Thanks to those foodies as well, who've made donations to you and your channel Gareth... Every little helps the channel to grow and move forward... Keep up the good work my friend... Cheers buddy. 🍺
Cheers Rick, great story that about the corner shop. Yes we used to have shops like that when I was a kid, they always had a certain smell, in a good way lol, yes most meet comes in plastic pagages now, all the character stripped away. I'm very lucky for getting the cracking food parcel. Take care Rick, all the best, Gareth 👍👍
I can't eat black pudding....but i've never tried Haggis ...just not keen on offal! Glad you enjoyed it though! Hope your Good Lady had a lovely Birthday x thanks for shout out! It was a great live chat! Always good to see genuine people do well. Good to see the subs/foodies going up too :-)
Fantastic you've been sent that. Black pudding and haggis are both lovely. What a nice guy to have done that. Your food army is definitely growing in a great way you'll soon have a great set up for more brilliant foodie vlogs 👍
I love black pudding , and Haggis. Living in the Scottish Highlands, I'm spoiled for choice . It does however give me heartburn if I over indulge, so it's still only a Sunday morning treat . That Stornoway one is right up there, one of the top 3 I've ever had.
Friday night was SPOT ON Gaz, in fact it was brilliant! So many friendly foodies joining your party, just checked and you're now on 11.3K, and well deserved it is too. You did that Black Pudding and Haggis proud pal. Just keep being you and keep doing what you're doing, you're a STAR!
Lovely bit of black pudding. What you need to cook is a full Scottish breakfast which will be Square sausages, bacon, eggs, potato scone, bake beans, black pudding, fruit pudding and to top it of with a bit of fried bread cooked in the frying pan after you have cook all other parts of the meal in the same pan. I am sure you will love it.
I was missing two components on my Sunday morning breakfast 🍳 I think I’ve just found what was missing looks excellent great video as always and respect to the kind person who sent you them 😀👍
A black pudding and bacon roll is to die for!! I'm Scottish and love porridge and also fruit pudding and lorne sausage. Tablet, not the vanilla type, is mmmmmm!!! We love your videos 😍
I’ve never tried haggis but tried black pudding, not my cup of tea lol… you looked like your loving it and that’s what matters 😁 very kind of the foodie to send you a taste of Scotland 🏴😘👍🏼
I had some of that black pudding the other week ,it’s absolutely fabulous ,it’s made from fresh blood as apposed to the vast majority in uk which is made from dried blood including some imported but all black pudding is ace and haggis is lovely ,working in Scotland you get different foods ,keep an eye out for the scotch pies filled with macaroni or haggis also scotch white sliced loaf ,lovely thick crust well done.👍
That was a very kind gesture to send you that food parcel Gareth. I've no doubt it tastes as good as you describe....though for me i couldn't eat it purely because of the lungs and pork blood etc....I just cannot bring myself to eat it simply because of those ingredients. But everyone is entitled to eat and enjoy what takes their fancy and tickles their tastebuds 😋👍🏻
Hi Gareth. Thanks for reading my name out from your list. You did a great live stream on Friday just gone. You made three hours feel like it was just 1 it was that good! And yes if you could get your PO Box set up ive got a gift I want to send you, nothing fancy but should be useful hopefully. The black pudding and haggis looked nice but not really my thing, but you still did a good review as always. Looking forward to the next one All the best.
That haggis and black pudding looks delicious. I sent you a message on the live show, it showed up on the night, but it’s disappeared , just saying it was a great live show.👍
Being a Scotsman i love Haggis and black pudding and you've got the gucci stuff there.... You should try a potato scone or tottie scone as we call them , keep em coming mate 👍🇬🇧
We've been to Edinburgh a few times we are hoping to go back sometime soon we will have to look out for the haggis for my partner he does like haggis I'm not overkeen on it but I do like black pudding I would look maybe for something a little smaller in both haggis & black pudding to bring home with us on our next visit keep up the good work Gareth 🍔🍕🥧👍
Hi, You sliced the black pudding way too thin, you are better off slicing it about twice as thick, so that one slice is about as thick as those two slices put together 10 to 12 mm I reckon. Oh and I think you should just cook the black pudding till it is nice and soft, not crisped up, after all it is already cooked and can be eaten cold., but I suppose that's a matter of taste! Charlie MaCleod's for me is the ultimate black pudding.
Their Stornoway white pudding is also excellent, as is their haggis roll. I order it from their website. When it arrives chilled you can cut it into portions. Enjoy it😁.
You are a lovely man and thank you for sharing your food tasting. Some of the items you try makes my mouth water. I don't know if I can get some of them here in the USA. 😀
Hi foodie , I’m a chef. I can’t stand this food lol, but I make for my husband. Just 2 minutes on each side. With breakfast. I think it’s each to there own . It’s an acquired taste.
That black pudding is the nuts. I mail order it a couple of times a year but the P&P for it is actually as much as the black pudding itself which is annoying. The Stornaway is by far the best I’ve ever had but M&S sell a pack of 4 slices of black pudding which is quite close to it but seasoned a little differently…it’s not a bad back up though.
Allreat fella, nice one on Friday hope the hangover wasn't too bad, you wanted suggestions for future reviews what about fish fingers because there's loads to choose from also the breaded and batterd fish fillets from Iceland i have them a couple of times a week absolutely spot on, all the best from across the bay in Heysham.
Gareth, what a fantastic gift to receive, I love a bit of BP served with a runny egg fried or poached. I was wondering if you have ever tried Irish white pudding at all, a farm near to me actually produces a sort of big Swiss roll of thin layers of both black and white pudding which I can highly recommend.
At breakfast you can find Stornoway black pudding served along side Tattie scones ,fried egg , Haggis, fruit pudding, Ayrshire bacon and a slice of fried bread. Some restaurants serve black pudding topped with poached egg you should try that. To get your hands on Stornoway black pudding is a great bit of produce and is not the cheapest but the quality is worth it. Great vid many thanks.
An acquired taste for some and a don't talk just serve for others the Black Pudding and Haggis. I've tried the black pudding, but I wasn't sure if I liked it or not. It does sell quite well here through delicatessen and some supermarkets. I can see you love it Gareth. Nice of you to recognise those patrons and all who contributed to the live stream. Cheers mate. Have a great day ahead. 👍😀🇦🇺
That looks absolutely amazing gareth as usual I have still not had haggis yet my aldi has not yet had it in but my local butcher has big sausage black pudding like that and he has said he will get me some I can't wait 👍👍🥓🥓🏴🏴🏴🏴🐖🐖
I Love a black pudding roll..Plus a Haggis roll both with Hp brown sause yummy ..Very glad you like them both ..Love my Haggis Tatties and Neeps You have to eat the three together for the all round taste...But like most things you have to shop around for good ones i like Halls the best.
Only just seen this vid. Mmmm. I had haggis, black pud, square sausage yesterday for brekkie (slightly crispy) with tinned tomatoes, egg and bacon. Bloody lovely. All the best from Manchester pal.
hi once again i have watched a number of your food videos,i myself am one who like eating pies ect so i watch regularly your programs over the you tube, here in Malta. And i call myself THE WELSHMAN IN MALTA.
Ah, Black Pudding 😋... I used to work in a shop with late opening hours and the petty cash bought our tea from the chip shop next door... our van driver was of a religious following that had issues around blood ( please don’t be offended if you are of the same persuasion ) but I always asked him to get me a black pudding supper ( just for badness ) always ended up with haggis for “some” reason 😂.. I knew the owner , we were at school together; and he used to wind him up saying “not having his usual black pudding tonight” 😂... He must have realised eventually it was a setup 🤪
Not really a traditional haggis, although I suppose these days they don't use the lambs paunch (stomach) to hold all the ingredients in when it's boiled. This seems like the convenience version.
Love black pudding as long as its peppery and i love haggis from the chippy, lovely grub, come on Gareth, thicker slices mate, needs to be thick to stick on a butty with a fried egg
I work in the Stornoway Black pudding factory. Sometimes my job is to capture the furry haggis. Take it back to factory and defur. They are getting wee menaces and harder to catch. Enjoy ;)
There's no back doors with you, ya can tell how down to earth you are , thats exactly why you are so liked 😊☺keep up the good work because you are very very watchable x

Stornoway black pudding is the best, no doubt about it
Hi best black pudding you'll get, I cook mine in the oven 3 minutes in hot oven. 5 from frozen.
Stornoway black pudding ......wow....its fantastic ......and I try to buy it when I can
Yes it's so good isn't it.
That was very nice what lovely guy 😊😊
Ah, Black Pudding 😋... I used to work in a shop with late opening hours and the petty cash bought our tea from the chip shop next door... our van driver was of a religious following that had issues around blood ( please don’t be offended if you are of the same persuasion ) but I always asked him to get me a black pudding supper ( just for badness ) always ended up with haggis for “some” reason 😂.. I knew the owner , we were at school together; and he used to wind him up saying “not having his usual black pudding tonight” 😂... He must have realised eventually it was a setup 🤪
no offence taken, wind up merchant lol
Great video and that food looked nice.. try our black country dish grey peas n bacon only bostin it is .
Not really a traditional haggis, although I suppose these days they don't use the lambs paunch (stomach) to hold all the ingredients in when it's boiled. This seems like the convenience version.
I love black pudding, never fry it....... already cooked and blooming delicious
Aye now yar talk in,top class those two products, they taste the way all food should taste, worth the money and tasy
Yes Ally is great, I'm lucky
Love black pudding as long as its peppery and i love haggis from the chippy, lovely grub, come on Gareth, thicker slices mate, needs to be thick to stick on a butty with a fried egg
I work in the Stornoway Black pudding factory. Sometimes my job is to capture the furry haggis. Take it back to factory and defur. They are getting wee menaces and harder to catch. Enjoy ;)
haha classic pal, thanks 😊
I may try it although havent had black pudding for a long time since childhood lol
Keep it up your brilliant,

Thank you Helen
I'm sat watching this and I could smell it cooking, then realised the wife is making a Sunday roast.
