Didn't see any one mention it but have been frying black pudding for years and never use oil, just dry fry it, it contains enough fat to cook to perfection with out any oil or fat added, you will appreciate the difference from a soggy mess to a dry cooked black pudding!! enjoy!
O Gareth... English style breakfasts are to Die Hard for. All that protein and fat is a gets me going, keeps me going meal. I've never tried haggis, the black pudding and English style bacon and beans I have. There are cafe's around Sydney that do a full English breakfast and the expats flock to them. Your sandwich looks great and I wouldn't turn it down. 👍🤤😀 Yippee the hob now works as it should. Cheers mate, great video. PS. It's savoury mince on thick cut toast with a plunge coffee for my Sunday breaky.
I've never tried that sliced haggis but will definitely be giving it a go. I'm a Bury girl so for me it has to be Bury Black Pudding, best there is lol!! But I like mine like you did yours, it has to have some crunch to it, great egg as well but just one thing missing mate..... brown sauce!!! It would have been perfect if you'd drizzled HP over it :)

Looks great, reminds me when in my younger days on a Saturday & Sunday morning I used to give my wife a lie in and cooked for myself 4 slices of fried bread, 2 sausages, black pudding and mealie pudding, 2 fried eggs and a 1/2 tin of tomatoes topped with a splodge of HP brown sauce, along with a big pint pot of sweet milky tea, after which I took up to my better half a cup of tea with toast and marmalade. The only 2 days that I ever had breakfast. If I was needed at work we used to send someone out to the local greasy spoon van and have a belly buster breakfast in a stotty cake.
I love Haggis and Black pudding! Some say its an acquired taste but they are both delicious. What makes me laugh is how our taste buds change over the years, my boy would always turn his nose up to black pudding but now we fight over who gets the most 😅
Breakfast of champions . Looks delicious , I lived near Hawick in the borders for a while & there was a chippy there that sold a brick shaped deep fried battered haggis that was utterly gorgeous & has lived long in my memory , definitely going back if ever I'm passing through , have a great weekend m8 🍻
Watched this episode Sunday morning, (Australia time) whilst having a breakfast of toasted, buttered crumpets and honey. Wished I was having haggis, black pudding, bacon and egg sandwich. Thanks for spoiling my breakfast Gareth.
Perfect breakie is haggis black pudding bacon eggs tattie scones square sausage and beans miss ma grandas breakfasts so much man another great review pal 👍
My mouth is bloody watering. Perfect Saturday breakfast. So glad you tried those haggis slices. I never had haggis before and really wanna try it and some square sausages (lorne). I will now. Totally trust your opinions. I adore black pud.. That looks amazing. Blimey!!!!! xx
Never once thought to have haggis on a sandwich, that looks like it would hit the spot Gareth. Bacon, black pudding, cheese and fried onion is my favourite. When I was younger I worked in a car parts dept and if the phone rang or someone came to the counter my bacon roll was always stone cold when I got back to it but I figured out adding a slice of black pudding gave you a much better chance of keeping it hot.

Sorry to disagree, but the plastic is 'special' (to take the heat of a frying pan or grill). It's so the black pudding retains its shape, avoiding 'crumbling' during cooking and then removed just before serving. Obviously if you are 'adding' black pudding to mashed potatoes, a stew of some sort or a similar cooking process, you remove the casing beforehand.
I've never bought Haggis, I've never seen it in the supermarket. I love a fried bacon and fried egg sandwich. Since getting the air fryer I do the bacon in that and usually do poached eggs in the microwave. It saves having to clean the hob, cooked hood and splashback. I can't stand a dirty hob, I have to clean it after every use, the same as the air fryer. I don't eat black pudding but I buy it for my husband. I'll have to look out for haggis so he can try it. Pleased you enjoyed your sandwich Gareth
Cant beat a bit of Haggis Gaz and some black pudding, Had some Scottish haggis in the Highlands and some Stornoway black pudding last year BLOODY lovely😋😋
Oh my God Gareth that looks amazing in all my breaks and holidays in Scotland I have never had haggis but have always wanted to try it I love black pudding so I am going for your breakfast toastie 👍👍🥚🥓🌑🏴
I get a sandwich from my local cafe its a B.E.S.T. (bacon, egg, sausage, tomato) with extra hash browns and black pudding. Its a flavour combination sensation you must try it someday
HI. There isa right way* of placing bacon in a frying pan - lay the slices so that the rind will be covered by the next slice etc etc. Its because fat takes longer to cook then the meat. x
A year on 🤫. I would never before eat Haggis due to what’s in it. Now since I’ve started making my own sausages, black pudding and Haggis for my Scottish neighbour I have become a convert. I make all my foods from really old traditional recipes. Including Scotch Pies and Square Sausage. I’m branching out into smoked fish and kippers. Sure it takes up a lot time, but it is well worth the effort. Cost wise? It’s bit dear to start off, but once you have the various ingredients? It works out a lot cheaper. I’m now cooking full time 3 days a week to accommodate my neighbours. And although I’ve passed that 70 year mark, I now feel useful again. 👍🏻👍🏻. And I cannot describe how great home made black pudding can taste. 😋😋.
I am Scottish myself but I’m not the biggest fan of haggis & certainly not on a cooked breakfast but each to their own. I like a full Scottish breakfast of sliced sausage, link sausage ( banger), Bacon, black pudding, fruit pudding, fried mushrooms, grilled or fried tomato, potato scone, haggis is optional & so are baked beans. Great content & review .
Well Gareth no Haggis in Ireland unfortunately but we have white pudding to go with black pudding , you should try toasting brown sourdough bread 😋very nice also with Kerry gold 😀
The end of that Black Pudding looks like a DOG'S ARSE! 😂😂😂 "Bon Appetit!" I thought you were having TOMATO, but it turned out to be the RED SPOT on your non-stick frying pan! 😂 You call that buttered toast? I butter my toast with a TROWEL! 😂
That looks so dam nice I have had black pudding from Lidi which looks the same as the one you got from Aldi. Which tasted very nice I must get myself along to Aldi but it’s a drive in the car to to but will do and try the haggis. Like to see that you are looking after yourself with the brown bread. 🥓🍳🥪😀
Sandwich looked great Gareth, but my cooker is blocked the same way as yours was hoping you would share the gas engineers advice on how to fix it please?
Haggis, black pud , square sausage and bacon...(all grilled) fried egg, tinned tomatoes, for my brekkie yesterday. Half a fried bread and 1 toast. Boyyyyyyy was it good.
Of you can get it where you live, try Welsh butter. It's very salty and wonderful on toast, crumpets, muffins etc. I think you'd live it because you like salt. Lots of live from North Wales.
Hey! You should use a mixture of full fat butter and olive oil for frying, not only is this alternative healthier. This method also prevents avoidable sticking, less potential to burn at higher heat and leaves a great flavour behind.
Cant go wrong with Kerry Gold butter m8. Bit biased though as an Irish man. Surprised u havn a good quality sausage in there . Me favourite would be Cumberland. Love the channel. Keep it goin.
Being the greedy Scot that I am, I'd have added the following sliced delicacies, mealy pudding, fruit pudding and square sausage to the sandwich and put it all in a Geordie stottie cake.
Hi Claire remove everything from the hob it should all lift off. Then get a pin and clean out the gas hole. Mine was clogged up stopping the gas. Should work then👍👌
Cannot stand Black Pudding but Haggis - absolutely love it (had it in Scotland at a dinner with the full ceremony (kept a wary eye on that sword though) but wasn't told what was in it until after eating it, the funny thing is I prefer the white offal {tripe etc.} rather than the red parts like liver [oh God never]), and would eat the sandwich minus the black pudding any day for breakfast. Of course I haven't seen it Australia, but I am sure one of our markets sell it to the largish Scottish population that live in Melbourne. Keep on with the vlogs, I am still catching up but have enjoyed those I have watched except the sweet ones, I am not a sweet tooth, given a choice and I will go savoury anytime. Glad someone showed you how to fix your cooktop burner, saved you quite a bit of money if you had had to call out a gas repairer. 🇦🇺🇦🇺😷😷🇦🇺🇦🇺

Gareth it's easier with chubb black pudding if you do what you did and cut the end off and then splice with your knife down its length then you can peel it back and reveal its contents. Moist
You should buy a “Huusk” knife you won’t need another they are on line and I bought three two for my grandson and one for me. They are exactly as shown. Cost me $33 each they are Japanese steel. I could smell all that cooking yummy!!! 😊

If you put sliced mushrooms in the dry pan too, they're very different without oil. Flavour much stronger. Obviously don't if you don't like them.
That looked great!!! But the way you turned the top slice and put it on upside down had my OCD going hahahaha!!! Great brekky!

Cheers Marty, all the best 😋😋👍
I second that it is sheer bliss or yummy in my tummy
I'd go for bury black pudding, I've tried Stornoway VS Bury and Stornoway is too greasy.
You can’t beat Stornoway black pudding. It is the best in Britain.

Try substituting a quarterpounder in a burger with a nice big slice of haggis, its a great alternative, delish mate, I've made it a few times now.
