    The composer for this is Robin Carolan. Same composer who did the score for Eggers’ The Northman. There’s 2 tracks for this already available on streaming services and they’re both fantastic.

    I like how the horror aspect of the vampire is played up as well. This feels genuinely foreboding, especially since Nosferatu is barely shown. His effect on the populace is enough. Thanks for your thoughts.

      That's the big difference between Dracula and Nosferatu imo, even though they're based on the same story. Dracula is about the vampire as personal horror stalking a small group of people, Nosferatu is about the vampire corrupting the entire world around him.

  • @Filbi
    @Filbi 3 дня назад

    So for people who don't know, this is a remake of the 1922 movie Nosferatu, which was an unauthorized adaptation of Dracula by Bram Stoker that changed all the characters' names and made a few changes to the plot. Even though Dracula is in public domain now, this movie uses most of the names and plot from the 1922 movie.
    I don't know how much the 2024 movie keeps, but the big changes to the plot were that Nosferatu takes place in Germany instead of England, the vampire Orlok simply kills his victims instead of turning them into vampires, and he brings a deadly plague with him spread by rats. The plague is the biggest difference from the plot of Dracula.

    I'm excited for this movie. Nosferatu (1922) is one of my favorite horror movies. This looks promising. I hope we don't see Bill Skarsgård before the movie but I know that ain't realistic.

    Yoooo... That curtain shot was something wasn't it? Damn, I trust Robert Eggers. The Lighthouse is a flawless masterpiece to me, The Witch is also great and The Northman was not a bad movie but it definitely so far my least favorite of the three films of Robert Eggers but Nosferatu feels like it's a movie that Robert Eggers was made to do, super excited for this!

    I think that Willem Dafoe is Professor Abraham Van Helsing. The character from the 1897 gothic horror novel Dracula written by author Bram Stoker [Ireland]. Van Helsing is a Dutch polymath doctor with a wide range of interests and accomplishments, partly attested by the string of letters that follows his name: "MD, DPh., D.Litt., etc., indicating a wealth of experience, education, and expertise.

      The 1922 Nosferatu changed the names of all the characters because they didn't have the film rights, the Van Helsing character was renamed Bulwer. In this version his name is Von Franz. But you're right, he's basically Van Helsing.

    Yes, the rats are because the movie is meant to be set in Europe during the black plague! There were a lot of people in this that Robert Eggers has worked with before in his previous films, like Willem Defoe, Ralph Ineson, and while Bill Skarsgard hasn't been in any other Robert Eggers movies, his brother Alexander was in the Northman. Anya Taylor Joy was also in 2 other Robert Eggers movies and was originally supposed to be in this one, but that fell through and she was replaced by Lily Rose Depp. I don't know if I'll see it on Christmas day, but I will definitely go see it that weekend. It looks good!

      Ain't this set in like romania? I saw the traditional clothing

    • @MadisonCLCoffing
      @MadisonCLCoffing 2 дня назад

      @RED-my9hl No, the 1922 film took place in a fictional town in Germany. I would assume it's the same for this version, but we don't know that yet. Also Romania is a European country.

    • @RED-my9hl
      @RED-my9hl 2 дня назад +1

      @MadisonCLCoffing sure but I think they'll also go to Romania cuz that's where the count is from, also I saw traditional romanian clothing for a few seconds in the trailer, also why did u feel the need to tell me romania is in europe? U think Germany and Romania are the same just cuz they're in the same continent or? 💀 also this is not a direct adaptation of the movie, more like an inspiration from the 1922 version

    • @MadisonCLCoffing
      @MadisonCLCoffing День назад

      @RED-my9hl what are you on about? 😭 what about that indicated I think Germany and Romania are the same? I said it took place in Europe, you were the one who said "AiN't ThIs SeT iN lIkE rOmAnIa?" Like Romania isn't also in Europe 😂 the original is set in Germany. Part of it may take place in Romania, but the movie as a whole will probably be set... in Germany. And no, it's a remake. If I had to guess it will take place in Germany, again, during a plague.
