Tracing a simple layered image in Inkscape

In this video, I show you how to take a clipart image from google and turn it into an svg with colored layers. I do two simple images in this one, each is just two or three colors.

when I open trace Bitmap, I don't get the same options. was there an update that changed the process?

+Marcie Keenan stick with it. It has a pretty steep learning curve, but worth learning :) Once you get the hang of it, you'll have a blast

How do you go about drawing things with inkscape?? for example designing your own Monogram design or pumpkin something like that where do you start??

What's wrong if after you trace bitmap it's still not see through?
I know I'm doing something wrong. This has never happened before.

+Cathy Durham I honestly don't know how to do this easily in Inkscape. Trying to trace real photographs bogs it down because of the complexity of the image. I did google it though and found a good step by step tutorial on doing it with free software. I think this would give you a jpeg or something similar at the end and that could either be uploaded directly to Design Space or traced in Inkscape if need be. If you need help with that part, let me know, but I would say try to follow this and see if it gives you what you need. I'm sorry I can't be more help with this :(

You have to download it. Go to www.inkscape.org and download the version for your operating system
