- In this video, I use text, shapes, and lines to make the 'My Favorite Disney Princess is my Daughter' image that's been floating around the internet for a while.
I’m soooooooooo grateful for this video! I’ve watched a few videos on bend tool but they were so confusing that I’d have given up if it wasn’t of utmost importance to me. I achieved it in a few minutes after watching this. Thank you!!!!
Nice to know there is an option to bending other than creating a circle then removing!
Where are you Wendy?? I loved watching him your videos! They helped me SO much! They actually still do. Every time I have a question, I come to your videos & you ALWAYS have the answer!
Looking forward to more videos from you!! Hope all is well. God bless.
Thank u so much. Ur videos have helped me so much. U have made it a lot easier to maneuver in inkscape and it is less confusing. Thank u for that.
Was wondering if u had a video on curving font and the offset together? Thank u in advance...
Thanks for this video. I've been looking for a way to bend text like this. I even showed Russell at Cutterpros how to do it. (I took the credit, of course:) Not really, he knows I'm not smart enough to figure this out on my own. His exact words were "wow, learned something new today". THANKS...subscribed
Life saver
thanks Wendy, that's great. now how about a video showing us how to cirve and shape an image we uploaded from our files????!!
your amazing! Thanks for this.
This helped me a lot! Thank you!!! 😚😍😍
Awsome Tutorial
Thanks
AMAZING THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its me again, it's a "Watch Wendy Edwards Tutorials Day" today! LOL I use "Union" a lot of course, but in watching this video and a few others of yours, I notice you use "Attach" quite a bit instead. In this video I don't think you used "Union" at all actually. For instance, when you made the horizontal line design on each side of "Is My", you "attached" the lines, whereas I would have "union"ed them. Can you explain the difference and why you chose attach versus union? Thanks again Wendy!
Good question! In Inkscape the difference between Attach and Union is this - Attach leaves all the nodes of both objects and just sort of combines them into one object. Union puts them both together also, but if there are any overlapping nodes, they get merged. So if you have block text for example, none of your letters will be overlapping in any way. You can just attach them. If you're using script though, there's usually some overlap where the letters connect to each other. If you attach them, they'll be one object, but if you look at the nodes, you'll see some extra ones behind the image where the overlap is. If you go to cut the design, your machine will cut those hidden ones too and you probably don't want them to. I've been know to attach instead of union at times, lol. I discover it when I go to cut. No biggie though, just select the items again and union them or if you're already in Design Space you can Weld and they'll be all good again :)
Perfect! Thanks Wendy!! Looking forward to your next video!
Hi Wendy, very informative video, question, my version i downloaded free from web does not have all the fonts that u show, do i have to purchase a version to get all these fonts and perhaps u could make a video that shows how to upload an image and recreate that image such as from a photo or a drawing???
Domenic, the fonts that show in the dropdown list are all of the system fonts on the computer that you're using the software from. I happen to have hundreds of fonts downloaded, lol. I get most from Dafont if that helps, and have purchased a bunch as well.
Hello, I'm trying to edit a eps file to place on a t-shirt. Any advice as to how I navigate inkscape so that I can move the artwork would be helpful. Thanks
I'm not sure what you're asking. How to navigate? If you have a specific question I'll certainly try to help :)
Nice
Hi Wendy, I cannot find the disney fonts in my drop down list, where can I get them please?
You can go to Dafont.com and find fonts there, look for Waltograph
Thank you Wendy. I love your videos. Going through them all.
I can't get it to make a star just makes a empty box
Thanks help so much
When u go to click add path I have no options it won't even let me click add it's a Gray shade
Do you mean Add Path Effects? You have to have something selected on your screen and then the plus sign will become enabled. Once you hit the plus sign, you'll see a list of effects to choose from. If you don't have anything selected or if the item selected is not a path, the button will be disabled.
Wendy Edwards wat r u saying wen u say control? U saying control something. Cnt understand wat u r saying.
Where do I get "the new Disney font" from?
FontSpace.com has it free :)
IT WILL NOT LET ME ADD ANYTHING ...NEED HELP PLEASE
What do you mean? What can't you add? Just need a little more detail please :)
Love your video. If I need help with something would you be able to help me. I would appreciate it.
What do you need?
With removing the background of a picture and putting in a different background .
Is it a photo or clipart? If it's something you can trace the way you trace bitmap to convert a clipart image, then sure. If it's a photo, not sure how to do that in Inkscape, you might be better off with PhotoShop or Illustrator or something
