THAT' S A TUTORIAL DAMN IT!!!!, FINALLY, someone with a clear voice and good energy, that doesn't cough or say eugh or hummm or excuse me, sorry, or can't give clear directions or give details if their lives depended on it!!!, YOU ROCK MAN! CONTINUE MAKING TUTORIALS, YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING, we need you man! and most of all, THANNNNNNNNNNK YOU BRO! XO
I've been watching a lot of Inkscape tutorials and this has been one of the most helpful so far. Good speed--if I missed something, I can go back and review what I didn't catch the first time.
Awesome tutorial for the basics! Quick and straight to the point, usually I'm the one saying "blah blah" and skipping forward through someone talking about how their life is going haha
THANKS MAN!! I was having troubles with this program and searched for a few tuts but NONE seemed to help me as much as this video you made did. Thanks a lot man, I subbued to your channel to hopefully get more amazing tuts to basic things.. :D cheers mate!!
Thanks for sharing, I just found this tool last night and your review was extremely helpful in making me understand the most useful tools in the application. Cheers
Thank you I have not been using inkscape very long so found your video very helpful as i have no idea what half of the controls do but now i know a bit more thanks
Thanks for the nice vid. Really liked the fast pacing actually. Other videos seem to take 10 minutes just to explain how to make rectangles... The only time I had te rewind was when you used the dropper and fill the rest of the gradient. How did you do that?
1:50 zoom: you've missed that. it's a window zoom. select, drag window and the selected area is zoom in. VERY useful. Try it in tiny areas, juctions, overcrossings.....
Nice paced helpful video. Improvements: 1: Stop repeatedly saying the totally unneccessary phrase 'go ahead and', 2: 'Not very useful' -> 'I have not yet worked out what this might be useful for', 3: 'All you need'... -> 'The key features I have learnt and found useful'.
wow thanks i did not wanna ask help for the program on work so when i found this tut i was soo happy now i can help later bit more on my work thanks again
do you have a video on how to erase background image(example I have a body silhouette and I want words over it but someone the body is in the word how can I erase just a small part) thanks
Sometimes you don't need to erase. Keep your images on separate layers. Then you can adjust the transparency on the image that you choose to put in front. If you make it 0% transparency, then the images in the back will only show outside the one in front. This works even if you have no color in the front object. You might have to watch another video to figure this out, but it's very easy once you know where to find transparency and layers on Inkscape.
How do you work on a document that will print out to be a regular sized piece of paper? Reason I ask is because whenever I open inkscape, it only shows a small box to work on...
Great videos. I subbed and hope to see more in the future but this has given me lots of ideas. Currently designing a logo for work. Thinking this would be gret for making christmas cards.
If an image had a polka dot in it, how do I remove those speciifc polka dots. I used to know hwo to dot his but stoped using Inkscape for a while and forgot.
Go to Inkscape. Create object. Go to Path > object to path. Create text. Holding down Shift key, select both the text and the path (your circle etc.), then go to Text > Flow into frame. The text will be inside the object, and will conform to it.
I'm having trouble using the "difference" function. It's almost like I have some type of super human SVG that resists the function. Are some types of SVG files different? I can't cut use the difference, break apart, or the cut path functions on this file! Help!
I choked and spit my water out when I heard him say, "you got your 'beezer" curve" Never heard the "bezier" curve tool (beh-zee-ay) pronounced that way before.
Hey can you help me? Im trying to edit a imported PNG image in Inkscape so I can remove a specific part of it and insert a different image into the file. I've tried to ungroup the entire image so I can select the certain parts I want gone but Inkscape keeps telling me "No groups to ungroup in the selection".Plz help I'm trying to avoid paying someone to do it
You can't ungroup a PNG image. SVG is the vector based file you need. You may have to resort to tracing your PNG file. Maybe someone knows of a way to convert PNG to SVG.
When I open inkscape it looks like this. This box that says DEFAULT at the top of it, it covers the left side of the screen covering part of the icons on the left side. How can I remove or hide this box?
Pretty effective tutorial, just a very fast talker. Had to spend a lot of time moving back and forth through the video because he goes through things so quickly.
shmoggo... It's easy to see that you're very familiar with the tools. I'm not. I'm having great difficulty following your cursor while you're speaking. Can you [next time] say something like "The first tool I'm going to dicuss is the "select tool..." then move your cursor at a speed that we can follow where you're taking us? many thanks!
Well Lester, I was being a bit sarcastic in my response. But, it is a commonly known term in design, not just in software, so I was surprised to hear his pronunciation. Matter of fact, this is the first time I've ever hear anyone pronounce it that way. But like I began my comment, it was a great video, pronunciation not withstanding.
It really worked for me after I look and try some tutorials, yours is the one that worked. Owe you a lot.

Excellent video tutorial. This is how a great tutorial is done. 8 minutes total. Direct to main the points and how you might use them. 5 stars.
This is definitely one of the best quick introductions to Inkscape, recommending to others.
Very helpful. 8 minute intro to Inkscape. Essentially all you need to know about the tools and the tools are 80% of it. Thanks!
I've been watching a lot of Inkscape tutorials and this has been one of the most helpful so far. Good speed--if I missed something, I can go back and review what I didn't catch the first time.

Great flyover. The pace and level of detail were just what I was looking for.
This is the best free software Ive seen. Respect.
Best Inkscape video I have viewed so far! for a beginner like myself. Thanks!
THANKS MAN!! I was having troubles with this program and searched for a few tuts but NONE seemed to help me as much as this video you made did. Thanks a lot man, I subbued to your channel to hopefully get more amazing tuts to basic things.. :D cheers mate!!
Great video. Right to the point, clear and clean explanations. Thank you!!

+namrevo84 Me too!!!!
Yes. Tired of these tutorials designed for retards -- Vids that take 10 minutes but could have easily been condensed to 30 seconds.
Good quick overview, and the bass line in the beginning and end is groovin.
1:50 zoom: you've missed that. it's a window zoom. select, drag window and the selected area is zoom in. VERY useful. Try it in tiny areas, juctions, overcrossings.....

+David Tangye Actually I liked that - made me giggle and shows you don't have to know everything.
A truly awesome video that teaches the basic.Thank you
Great tutorial. Straight to it, no messing. Thanks.
Like your style - this video is simple and easy to follow and helped me. Your other videos are good as well.
Straight to the point. Excellent video
wow thanks i did not wanna ask help for the program on work so when i found this tut i was soo happy now i can help later bit more on my work thanks again
Really concise and useful information Thanks!
Nice introduction for newbies. Thanks!
This is a great video for beginners. Thanks, must show to students.
Thank you so much. Very helpful
Hi, can u explaine where can we get, the box window on the top right.. Showing the gradient color and ect... Pls advise... Tq
Thank you. Trying to avoid buying Coreldraw. This is helping me go InkScape.
Really great informative video. I highly recommend it.
do you have a video on how to erase background image(example I have a body silhouette and I want words over it but someone the body is in the word how can I erase just a small part) thanks
Photoshop might be better for that
indeed

Actually fill bounded areas can be really useful and important in my opinion.
Great videos. I subbed and hope to see more in the future but this has given me lots of ideas. Currently designing a logo for work. Thinking this would be gret for making christmas cards.
Dose this have layer effects? Will this run on Chromebook?
Very useful tutorial. Thank you :)
If an image had a polka dot in it, how do I remove those speciifc polka dots. I used to know hwo to dot his but stoped using Inkscape for a while and forgot.
Hey! Thanks so much for this video!
I would be interested in combining the font tool and the shape or circle tool. I'd like to attach my words on a circle or square.
Go to Inkscape. Create object. Go to Path > object to path. Create text. Holding down Shift key, select both the text and the path (your circle etc.), then go to Text > Flow into frame. The text will be inside the object, and will conform to it.

thanks, i knew it was simple and you really helped here
Very useful video! Thank you!

Great video :) .
I choked and spit my water out when I heard him say, "you got your 'beezer" curve"
Never heard the "bezier" curve tool (beh-zee-ay) pronounced that way before.
He was helpful anyway :) English is my second language. It is good that you didn't hear me.
Nata It's not English. It's French!
Bonjour

When I open inkscape it looks like this. This box that says DEFAULT at the top of it, it covers the left side of the screen covering part of the icons on the left side. How can I remove or hide this box?
You open it from web browser download the app itself it's literally 15 mb in size

Cool beans? From MA by chance?
phalceprofit Nope. Chicago, actually!
shmoggo Thought that was strictly a MA thing ;)

how to cut, crop a image? I can't find how to do this
Make a shape for the hole or whatever, and use the path dropdown options, like intersection or difference.
Perfect. Thank you.

Pretty effective tutorial, just a very fast talker. Had to spend a lot of time moving back and forth through the video because he goes through things so quickly.
+Michael Washington I was so happy he went fast like that. It is slow enough.

shmoggo...

Alain Michel Sorry for going so fast - I actually hear this often, so I've made an effort to slow down a bit in upcoming videos. Thanks for watching!
I’m unable to hear what I made???? HELP
very helpfull
Thank you.
Thanks dude

I LOVE YOU
Welp, now I know the correct pronunciation of “bezier.”
2:00 "IF you have a mouse" I MAY HAVE A MOUSE WHO KNOWS
I'm judging you do simple graphics design work based on what you considered useful and not.
Have you grown as a person, in the five years since you made this comment?
Thx bro
Thans for the tut
thanks
"Beezers" XD
subbed
Why did you intentionally skip some tools, because you deemed them unimportant or not useful? A tutorial is for other people; people who are not you.
Hi sir inkscape telugu languages vedios kavali
Please sir
Nice!
If you're going to explain the tool buttons" Then do ALL the buttons, not just the ones you like.
