@@R3KTANGL3 because it takes a lot of time making a new model like that maybe days, weeks, they don't actually have a timelapse of it, just some of the parts and they just stitched them together

i didnt get the point of floaters untill you mentioned baking them and it blew my mind. im shocked that that isnt what everyone does. that's is definitely going to be part of my modeling going forward
hey yea, super versatile and mighty, some assets are just stacked layers of floaters, but once baked it all comes together.

Also - so they're just scalping a character and then basically "painting" the clothes, materials etc onto that? So that would explain why every character is full of ass.

For me, it's a beautiful well crafter game. I always stop looking at shadows. I can tell something change in Blizzard, because the new maps, don't look as much polish as before. Hanamura is beautiful, all lighs looks amazing, shaders, everything resonates. But new maps, are different, they can be improve but maybe bugdet it's tight. LOVE YOUR WORK Dev team.

Cost+demand. If the skin is hogh demand(kpop collab). It will be expensive. If skin cost a lot to make it will be expensive.
Go read about Pricing and Economics surrounding it to get the educated answer. If you just want to stay ignorant no need to ask this question in the first place

@@footur3179 They all lack movement, they are awkward at best. The fluidity is gone, I'm not even talking how lifeless and cringy they've become
true, quality in animations has gotten worse drastically. The game felt so full of life and character in OW1 but with OW2 I just can't get myself to love it the way I loved OW1.
@@spaceman9459 ehh i don't think they are cringe they still fit the hero's character, some of them even have things we haven't seen before like soldier/tracer on bikes, screen overlays, and post-processing

the only one that looks weird to me is the one where the junker queen is stabbing a knife on the table by her fingers because if you wear a skin that exposes her arm, her muscles don't have physics/flex like mauga's do
they got rid of Bobby.. give microsoft time... to slow down and change the focus of the team on the right directtion again.. whatever you see on game now or even season 8... it was done.. months ago, not now. Sad but.. we need to wait to see the changes :)

Why are they acting as if they have to make new characters when they have a template mode? This doesn’t justify the cost. All they’re doing is digital shadowing. They aren’t starting from scratch in coding. It’s already done. They are just showing you how they incorporate a skin into the template before a release. All the original skins were various versions with different color schemes. The skins are then overlayed. If they are acting like they have to start from scratch then clearly their game dev/designers are prolonging work inefficiently. This is nonsense. They have new skins as soon as they approve the concept for it. That’s the hardest part now because it’s all downhill from the start of the project. Seriously this is just them talking about perspective and shadowing overlayed onto a character model. Thus wouldn’t take days, if would take minutes to an hour. When you play the game, it’s x amount of frames and resolution that are overlooked. Just like the animated shorts are more in depth and in detail compared to actual game play footage. They need to stop acting like the focus is on the game when in reality it’s in the marketing. Ppl need to stop buying skins for 20 bones so they’d lower the price. If everyone did it, bet it would drop to 2 or 3 dollars at most. And even that is a crime. But ppl won’t learn. They’d rather pay for a brand new games cost over how fast they can pump out skins. Again blizzard will only hike up prices because they test the limits of the consumer base. Problem is they lack awareness and are blissfully ignorant because they think they aren’t being robbed. If you bought 3 skins that took them at most 2 or 3 business days to create start to finish (with one or two ppl) studios, will start sellling games at higher cost to say production value required is exponential based on the worth they are charging. The artist themselves are not getting raises tgey getting same steady check while soujourns agua skin racked in 2 million since it’s release. That’s not even a full quarter. Inflation applies to actual resources makes sense. This is sheer stupidity folks for simply porting and overlaying art onto models that apply the shadowing and directions.
That’ll be $20 please and thank you…yes you get the one. What do you mean “other skins” you paid for this one not the other ones. What can you do with them I hear you ask? Equip them to these characters. What? No, not in other games you can’t leave with those so keep our $20 sinks in here thanks.
