How did I just find Raiders in 2024. Probably watched 20 episodes so far!!! Pulp Fiction is a great film and remember seeing it in the theaters with my dad at a young age and have seen numerous times through the years! Great breakdown, review, and takes on this classic

I have a theory (i heard somewhere) on why Vincent didn't notice all the noise butch was making in the kitchen.
He could have just assumed it was Marcellus Wallace. We have reason to believe marcellus was waiting at The apartment with Vincent, for 2 reasons. 1. After leaving the apartment, butch immediately runs into marcellus. Why was marcellus so close? Also he had a box of donuts, and if I remember correctly, TWO drinks. One for him, one for Vincent. And 2. Marcellus was Vincent's temporary partner due to Jules absence.
    Great podcast guys!

One of the most quotable films of all time. The gold watch scene, my god. The way Walken starts this dramatic emotional story, and seamlessly switches into humor, gets me every time. Hysterical. “He died of dysentery, he gimmedawatch…”
No matter what point you tune into this film, you just gotta finish it. The pacing is absolutely incredible.

Fantastic podcast added a completely new level of enjoyment. “English mofo do you speak it?”
Evidence against butch being the one who keyed Vince’s car.
It’s one timeline from getting the brief case back, killing the guy in the car, the wolf, car crushed, go to coffee shop. Return briefcase to Wallace has words with butch. They wear the same clothes (Tarantinos characters) the whole time after the Bonny situation.
1 they don’t have time to get the Malibu
2 I doubt butch has any clue the Malibu is Vincent’s or who Vincent is, just some guy trying to start something at the bar
    3. Butch is an honorable character, keying a car is dishonorable act and out of character.

  • @annaclarafenyo8185

The reason Marcellus has a band-aid on the back of his neck is because you don't see his face for a while, the band-aid identifies him when he walks past Butch driving. The briefcase is best thought of as containing the radioactive core of an atomic bomb. This is what was in the case in Kiss Me Deadly, and in 1994, the USSR just broke up, and loose-nukes were a hot topic.

Few things worth mentioning, when vincent insults butch, then hugs marcellus, butch gives them a dirty look. That's probably the moment he decided to betray marcellus, and not throw the fight.
Also, vincent and Mia didn't win the dance contest. We know this because as butch is walking to his apartment, when he walks by a window with the radio playing, the guy on the radio mentions the jack rabbit slims dance trophy was stolen.
And finally, an ironic moment, Jules says "marcellus doesn't like to be ****ed by anyone except Mrs Wallace" and then shortly after, marcellus indeed gets ****ed by someone else besides Mrs Wallace.
Brett didn't **** him like a b****, But zed did.

Such a great movie, and video for it. Deserved every minute of this 2hr 45m podcast!
This is one of very few movies that I've told people that I could just listen to it and enjoy it thoroughly. The dialogue is perfect, and there really are so many quotable lines.
Lance is probably my favorite secondary character (The Wolf being a close second) but he never fails to make me laugh, and has some of my favorite lines:
"Lance: Hey, whattya think about Trudi? She ain't got a boyfriend. You wanna hang out, get high?
Vincent: Which one's Trudi? The one with all the shit in her face?
Lance: No, that's Jody. That's my wife."
    and
"Yeah, I ain't ever done it before either, alright? I ain't starting now! Look, you brought her here, and that means that you're giving her the shot. The day that I bring an OD-ing bitch over to your house, then I give her the shot. Give her the shot!" His manic energy in this movie is such a great offset of the typically cool, calm, and collected energy of Vince, Jules, Marsellus, and Butch.
And so many lines/characters have great "Flex" moments.. Marsellus and his "I'll tell you what now..." (a pair of pliers and a blowtorch) monologue, for instance. But I think one that really made me do a double-take was with Jules speaking to Marsellus. They play him up so much (Marsellus) as *the* boss among bosses, nobody goes against him (and those who do, apparently get thrown out a 4-story window (Tony) or would-be murdered (like Butch); but then you have Jules telling him how it is:
"I don't wanna hear about no motherfuckin' ifs! All I wanna hear from your ass is, 'You ain't got no problem, Jules. I'm on the motherfucker. Go back in there, chill them ni**as out and wait for the cavalry which should be coming directly." And Marsellus, very calmly, repeats it back to him.
That really set the bar for the amount of respect the Jules has within this universe, and I always thought it was awesome to show that moment of "you need me" levels of confidence toward Marsellus.

Random questions that I just write off to "it's a movie". Getting burgers that early in the morning and The Wolf having a cocktail party in evening dress at 9 in the morning. No police after the crash and gunshot follow the blood to the Pawn Shop, nor after the crash into the house to take care of the OD. Why would Jules give away $1,500? After the miraculous missed shots (which show on the wall in a previous scene) Jules and Vincent shot in different directions, no way they both hit the same target. Thank goodness I've gotten past letting those types of things ruin great entertainment.

@@frankberger3507 It's not "entertainment", it's a 1990s art-film which coincidentally got picked up for wide distribution. The movie is deliberate fiction, it's using the most clicheed story-lines from pulp stories and the most tired worn-out characters, but it's doing all the things with them that never get done in the pulp stories. In the pulp stories, nobody goes tot he bathroom, there are drugs, but nobody overdoses, there are guns but nobody gets shot by accident. And there are also only a handful of "main characters" with guns, they never run into each other. What this movie does is take those fake-characters and drop them into a real LA, and make them interact with normal people. That's the experiment. But because it borrows so much from schlock pulp cinema, it got confused as an example of that by people who should know better.

    • @annaclarafenyo8185
      @annaclarafenyo8185 Месяц назад

@@frankberger3507 The reason they get burgers is to show they were up all night. The same reason the Wolf is having a coctail party, he never left to go home. There is no police in this world, like Taxi Driver. Jules and Vincent are shooting at close range, and they are aiming accurately. The reason Jules gives Pumpkin the money is because it's blood-money, he doesn't want it anymore, not now that he understands that he was doing evil. Your complaints are false, they are wrong, and they show you don't understand the story.

I learned so many words I've never heard before, that would make people turn heads, if anyone heard you saying these things in my area lol also, the use of other ones that mean other things (negative connotations or derogatory).
In the case someone doesn't know: there's ton of swearing, and it's also done in the UK. The way it's written in book form, so interesting. The phonetics are spelled out, so you won't be able to read this easily and might have to sound it out to understand the dialogues in the book 🫠🫶
