From a Mario Party mainstay that suddenly vanished almost 20 years ago, to an incredibly rare enemy that was only found almost 25 years later, to even a character who almost made a big comeback but was lost for a mysterious reason, we're going to cover it all!

Toadsworth has vanished as well. His only appearance nowadays are in ports and remakes of older games, the last time being Mario 3D All-Stars. His last "new* appearance is 10 years ago in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team.
He didn't even appear in the Mario movie. Instead, Peach's advisor is a generic blue Toad with glasses.

Cassarin = Catherine which is actually Birdo’s name in Japanese ❤
That's the theory!
Cassarin is an alternate romanization of Catherine. No "th" sound exists in Japanese, and the "s" sound (written as two s's in this case) is the closest phonetic equivalent. It's the same reason there's a translaton inconsistency with the name of the planet that the original Metroid takes place in versus its name in later titles of the series (Zebeth vs. Zebes).
There would be no need to replace that name with "Birdo" for localizations if it was unused in the Japanese version.

Yo introducing Bowsers brother could be so cool. Imagine in Mario Odyssey 2 you have to go against two Bowsers, and then the Brother betrays Bowser and you have to capture him, resulting in a Marvelesque Bowser v Bowser fight.

I like the blue star that was originally being the leader because he looked more Luma because Rosalina looks less Luma because I’m not glad that Rosa Elena had gone there. I like the blue star guy better.
I hope Bowser’s brother will make a return. I think it would be more fun with 2 Bowsers than one. Also, I hope Rosalina doesn’t become a forgotten character herself, since she is my favorite.
For the Fighter Fly and Shellcreeper in Mario Power Tennis I assume they wanted to use 3D models in the Mario Bros. court but ended up using 2D sprites instead.

Donkey Kong Jr. actually was in Mario Kart Double Dash, you could spot him in the crowd on the track Waluigi Stadium
Love the video! Super interesting! I have only one suggestion (it's just me) but the little 'pop' noise that sounds out when anything appears on screen is a little intrusive. Using it every once in a while is great, but it became pretty distracting... just a suggestion, keep up the good work!

I think Bowser’s brother was used as a reference for rookie in Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga
Spinies turn into Coins when you go through a Gold Ring in NSMB2 to reference the Grey P-Switch from Super Mario World.
The unused SMB3 enemies can be found in unused levels. Yellow cheep cheeps spawn in threes and the green parabeetles are slower than the red one.

My headcanon, shellcreepers are the four legged koopas.
There’s a really obscure Mario character that only appeared in the original Mario Party and was only featured in one minigame (Key-pa-way) named Spike Koopa. He’s a pretty weird looking character and it’s weird how he only appeared in this one minigame and never made a reappearance; not even in Key-pa-way’s remake. Hopefully he can return in a mainline Mario game someday.

Going do that, do this. U need 2 players for this glitch, go to 1-1 and both players get a propeller suit. After this go to 1-3 and both players get a yoshi, then eat a koopa in their yoshi's mouth. If you both ground pound at the same time, and then u spit out the koopa shell. Carefully stop the shell and pick it up, in your propellor suit, fly up and ground pound with the koopa shell in your hands. Infinite lives, easily done, no lag and on world 1
3:35 a thought i had when i first saw that character is that it reminded me of squirps, a character from super paper mario that guides/helps the player (to an extent) in the space chapter/level of the game
its prolly not true, but the fact the lil guy was found in mario galaxy files and the fact a character similar not only pops up in a mario game released a few months before, but in a space level as well, made me start thinking about it

I think the title becomes a bit misleading as most of these characters are cut concepts that never saw the light of day to begin with it would make more sense as cut Mario characters or something like that

Chukcya was used for SM64 DS, 8 years after the original came out.
He is in original too they changed their colors a bit though in DS version, and got a model upgrade..
In the next Mario & Luigi or Paper Mario game I would like to see Koopa kids fighting against Bowser 'cus of tge parental issues...

0:18 Bowser's Brother was never actually a real thing. He just uses the castle palette for enemies, because the axe isn't present. That's also why every Bowser in the game uses the Overworld palette - because of the presence of the axe.

Bowers brother was actually he bowser himself. every enemy in the game uses a blue version of themselves when the axe isn't loaded in. . . So bowsers brother is just bowser himself just the axe is not there. And also the original super mario brothers depicted him as blue. That was bowser himself just the axe is gone.
In the manuals, that specific enemy is called "Bowser's Brother", so...
