It's so handy to have accents to indicate how a word should sound and to differentiate between similarly spelled words. In English you are just thrown in and have to figure it out for yourself. You have reading and Reading, polish and Polish, wind and wind, tears and tears, etc, etc...
Completed this as well and I can't help but comment on how well articulated your classes are. You make it really easy to learn. Truly grateful to you and for all the effort that goes into making these wonderful classes.
I've decided to study this during quarantine and I just started learning French from this channel. Should I learn something first before studying French?
You should definitely start with pronunciation, this course will teach you everything about it :) It's important to be able to read / listen and pronounce 🙂
The step up the ladder to improve the pronounciation right from the beginning, rather than getting stuck later on.The lesson is perfect for beginners and also for advanced students who want to improve on their pronounciation.Merci
I’ve been trying to learn French and have been struggling till I found your videos. I always wondered why the accents were on the ‘A’ and the ‘U’ and it confused me and you were the only one who actually explained why. Thank you for much for your content❤️
Hi, Dylane, I just purchased all of your text books and want to start on the "listening practice" (audios) in The Pronunciation Course." I completed the sign-up on line for the link, but have yet to receive it. Can you help, please. Many thanks.
Bonjour! In the video, you say, "We have the two words, À and A. The first one means 'at'. The other one means 'has'." But the word that appears in the video is "To", not "At". Please clarify. Merci!
My bad! Thanks for noticing. Very easy to explain, since it's a pronunciation course, I tried to keep the translations easy and use only one but said another one 😉 À translates to : To - At - In - Of - By - For - With - Per - and more.
As a seasoned language learner, and former English teacher I can honestly say how great Dylane's material, authenticity and skill is! very engaging and a great teacher!

hi, I'm so sorry to bother you but I know nothing about French this is my first video seeing how to learn French should I learn anything else before going to pronunciation.
magnificent as usual dear Dylane. I still did not notice the subtle difference (at least for me as a non native French speaker) between E grave and E Aigu. may you clarify to me which one ( E grave and E Aigu) is considered low sound and which is high sound as you mentioned at around minute 6:18 in the lesson. You can't imagine how beneficial and easy your lessons are. Thank a lot.
Thanks Dylane I'm your french beginner student oh say number 72,000,013. Thanks for the seat. ? What word can I use to practice the roling " e and r " sound 🤔 sound like a soft gargling.
Dear Dylane why E grave in Rivere takes the “y” sound as the ”y” sound in fiere. It is more logical to take the sound of E grave in both mere and pere.
Got very confused that my pronunciation of Père and other è words must have been wrong all along after reading the book, however upon watching the video I've realised that Scottish people like myself don't pronounce Fair the same way as english people haha! That's why its great that you have made the video content, thanks very much for that extra effort.
Bonjour Dylane et comment allez vous! Merci beaucoup pour votre Lesson 3 - The French ACCENT GRAVE | French pronunciation course. Nous aimons beaucoup cette vidéo.
On dirait que les lettres accentuées ont une forme effilée à la fin du son, tandis que la lettre non accentuée se termine par une coupure, comme un arrêt brusque. Est-ce correct ?
When you were commenting on the same sound but two different meaning , on the grave , LA I understand this one but the other LA there , with the grave how can I tell on what they stand for , I might be rushing things , but I didn't realize it ment two different meanings , , ? Do u have a video on how to realize on how to tell the difference 🤔. Thanks ,
That's because you don't have these sounds in your language probably so your ear can't differentiate them :) Sometimes it takes some time but you will be able to hear them at one point :)
Dear madame, l Just started your lessons and am confused like how to tell when to put a female or male writing like the UN and UNE and also when trying to put the è and é or á and a when doing a writing test for your self
merci beaucoup pour laisse-toi apprendre français à moi avec tout le videos. Bisous de Turquie. Maintenant mon français nivau que tu m’as appris très bon autant que s’ a lu la livre académique.
Hi, Im a little bit confused. Why with the same "à", there's still difference between "là, voilà" and "déjà". And also you said at the beginning of the video that with accent grave or not, the letters still pronounce the same, but seems like they are different in tone. Im not sure if French a tonal language or not? Hope to get answer for this. Thanks
I skipped ahead to the next video and again read comments. It will be nice to understand in the future what I cannot comprehend now. I look forward to the day. I'm beginning to believe paper and pen (the old fashion manner of learning) will be existentially necessary for grounding some serious grip on memorizing future material. And another thing. What did you said?😉🤭. ... Much thanks and happy holidays you and yours.

At 6:27 it should be RIVIÈRE, not rivère 😕 Oups!

Thanks a lot. Own the pdf too. But why is fier pronounced same way as fière. Shouldn't fier take [e] sound? But it takes [ɛ] sound.
That's one of the exceptions ;)

Ce qui me déroute le plus en français, ce sont les liaisons. Quand j'entends, cela ressemble à un mot, mais se révèle être 2 ou 3 ensemble. 😱
Surtout que c'est parfois obligatoire, parfois non, ou encore optionnel 😆
Pourquoi faire simple quand on peut faire compliqué 😅
Salut encore! How do we know when to use Accent AIGU and when to use Accent GRAVE? 😄 Thanks a lot for your attention.

Its so hard to practice pronounicing è correctly when its followed by a 'r' which im probably not gonna get correctly for a while
It's ok to not pronounce things correctly too, everything takes a while to learn, learning a language is a journey 😉

Not all of those :D
