Is there a difference between putting poron foam and this car dampener inside this spacebar?
But $25? :((
10 square feet!? How many space bars you think we have?
@@chrishahn2937 all of them
Bro, link to your mouse/keyboard/deskpad?
That "weak" spacebar sounds better than my entire keyboard.
:)
Well when there keyboard entuiust they care a bit to much
Bro really thought that his space bar was weak😆😆😆
That's sound really great and nothing really changed actually
@@EpicRiceXD it's more poppy.
@@EpicRiceXD Do your ears work?
@@EpicRiceXD I agree. I literally heard no difference other than him pressing more rapidly the 2nd time around
It is
Glad I wasn't delusional when the old spacebar sounded good
Yeah but dampened is much better
I did this a while back and I stopped due to how much it mutes the sound. I wouldn't personally recommend this mod but it's a better choice compared to spacebar foam.
Mute is good
@@gormauslander if you think that, then the gmmk pro is your endgame board.
@@user-kz9rz8ui1c nope, no numpad
Scott, small suggestion. can the videos with Technical sections be added to a playlist? I really enjoy those segments simply because I learn something from those videos.
out of 3 things I tried (epoxy/tape/killmat) the killmat/auto dampener was by far the best sounding. But if you put too much, the space bar really feels heavier and maybe you need a stronger spring
BRO THE “weak” SPACEBAR IS AMAZING
Couldnt even edge to this! I exploded IMMIDIEATELY! Cleanup in aisle MY PANTS!!!
I do this in all my spacebars! Only thing to watch out for is if any adhesive gets out from under the foil. It could stick to the switch or stabs and cause some return issues.
Agreed, that is one of the main issue and concern about double-sided tapes 😅 I personally would prefer single-sided foam tapes instead as it's easier to find as well.
@@hadifelani Hey, my keycaps are pretty hollow as I am a using 25 dollars keyboard. So what should I do to make them sound less hollow? Like should I fill them with glue or use the material that the youtuber is recommending?
@@nandi7772 hmmm, is it just the long keycaps, or all of the keycaps?
@@hadifelani long ones sound much more hollow but others are also slightly hollower for my liking.
@@hadifelani When I bought my Keyboard, I just wanted to have an mechanical keyboard and I am happy with the typing experience, as it is much better than my laptop keyboard, but If there is something I can do to make it better then why not.
I've already tried this, but with modeling clay 😌, and its heavy with nice deep sound🔥
"Did you built a keyboard but your spacebar sounds weak" Bro your spacebar is more thockier than my tofu 60's spacebar 😂
Okay, ordering now.
Ok good to know thanks for letting us know we know
There's a difference between a spacebar sounding weak because of wire rattle and improper lubing as opposed to not having unnecessary material stuffed inside of the keycap...
this can be done with nearly any sold such as playboy though i don’t recommend as it could crystallize and cause issues down the line, basically just fill the extra space but dont go overboard
Hey, my keycaps are pretty cheap as I am using 25 dollars keyboard. So Can I do something with my keycaps to make them sound less hollow? Like filling it with glue or this material that this gentleman is recommending?
The sheer knowledge this man has scares me
Haha there is much that is still unknown
@@Keybored unknown???
@@ozhuenlxbouginsrirluhnbrtw2266 morbing time
omg sound, so heaven !!!!
bro had a great sounding space bar and make it better 🙂
sounded fine to me lol
Finally something to hulkify my weak spacebar on my GMMK Pro with the brass plate. You the man Scott! Thanks!
The things we do for the ideal sound in this hobby
That bring a smile on me.
that spacebar sounded great wtf
Ikr it sounds better than my Royak Kldge RK100
you can also use a couple layers of painters tape, like the tempest tape mod.
These are just butyl rubber sheets with adhesive on them, any brand will probaby work the same
Loved your review on the Gateron North Poles. On a scale of 1-10 how much would you recommend lubing them?
if you're spending that much on switches, I'd recommend lubing them. it's not necessary, but there's a noticeable difference imo
Bro went from very good spacebar to insanse s tier spacebar
THANK YOU I HAVE BEEN FIGHTING THIS FOR THE LAST MONTH
wow ur the goat
Spacebar was really good at the start, then became endgame
Just get spacebar pe foams its cheaper than the dampeners. You can also use masking tape
i love this
It worked thanks
Glad it did!
I have the opposite issue
Jelly tape also works
Amazing keyboard
First time seeing this mod, pretty nice
I put modeling clay inside an it made it feel gooda
:)
Backlit spacebar lovers: That's not possible
Keybored the science genius does it again
By the way could this dampener be used for the bottom of cases? The 50 mil Kilmat is out of stock :)
Me with my blue switches keyboard 👀
Keyboard name/model?
My favorite keyboard doesn't have the spring in the spacebar because I lost it, so I can't press anymore. What do I do?
I would just like to take a moment to mention I appreciate how you take the spacebar off of the board lol
Haha, it's the ONLY way to do it!
Tape will make the spacebar deeper but maintain the noise. I call it the cactus spacebar mod
In b4 Shoobs and Glarses call it a skill issue 😢
Cope harder
Thats an amazing sound at the start bro what
Lol, with the filler, it's even better!
@@Keybored i must agree tho
I just put together my first major modded board (built the Odin V2). The keys sound great, but my spacebar rattled like crazy and it was driving me nuts. I ended up using thick Gorilla tape to do something similar to this and it still rattled. I assumed that it was my Owlstabs that I didnt mod correctly...so I added a thin layer of scotch tape on the stab step top and it got rid of most (99%) of that rattle. The right side is still a little loose, so I'll see if some BDZ lube or maybe even try using a holee mod or soemthing on the stem will reduce the slight left over rattle.
But yeah, same principle with the gorilla tape, just a little less noise dampening (because that's not the primary use of that tape :P )
Omg im doing this asap
It works!
I did the same but with silicion glue hheheheh
I went from "what do you mean 'weak'?" to "oh WOW"
:)
Press 1 and 9 to compare the two
Honestly sounded the exact same, the sound was only affected by you clicking harder and more rapidly than before.
I only need like 2 inches of Noico for one keyboard, is there anywhere where I don't have to buy 12 square feet and pay $35 for it?
Literally sounds the same but faster
now please teach us how to get a weak spacebar
Nice it sounds the same
dang it sounds thoccier
am i the only one that thinks it sounds better before the mod?
fr
He pressed it harder after
Would blue tac work?
Yes. The mod is about making the spacebar not hallow not actually muting it
definitely gotta try this, are there any other options other than this dampened that work good too?
Sounds the same you just tapped it faster the second time 😂
What's wrong with the old spacebar I don't get it
what about o-rings?
Do you know why my spacebar is so silent? I lubed the stabs and switches. I'm using outemu reds. They're just so silent it's crazy but it's not rattling
I like rhat weak
What keyboard is this
Dang, I may have found the mod to make an even quieter keyboard
Did you guys allready figure out why they never put the before and after sounds next to eachother?
What's this keyboard?
Can you also do that with the enter key?
Any other cheap butyl tape used for patching holes works too
damn it sounds exactly the same 😂
I bet u use a membrane keyboard
woah
Hey Scott, have you ever tried cork for sound profile changing? What do you think about it?
nice
Oh man that weak space bar sounded better than some of my space bars. 🤣
Would this work for 1u keys? If I do this mod for every keycap on my board, would it make the whole board pop more?
I personally think that it's unnecessary to do that on 1u caps. Worth a try if it's 1.5u at least.
ah, yes! you told me this when i asked you about it in your discord a long time ago
How does this work? The foam just reflects the sound back at the board instead of letting it bounce around inside the space bar?
The foam changes the sound. To my ears, it muted the sound more and made the pitch lower.
Does aluminum foil work
I dont have a noico dampener is there anything can use instead of noico dampener?
What is the frankenswitch that u use for ur spacebar?
What switch is that for the spacebar
cool
Surely blu-tac does the same job?
with that aluminum jacket youre ready to go to space 😏
What keyboard is this ?
what switch did you use for the space bar?
What keyboard model is that??
Could you do this whit all your keycaps
Just remove the plate foam below the space bar only
gonna try your way
@@omzxa8415 it will make it more poppy, but depends on the keycaps manufacturing. Dysub/single shot one will be hollow
Anybody know if you can do this to every single Keycap? Lol
Dude what switches ur keyboard got?
What keyboard is that
Hope 75!
What keyboard is that?
What's the switch in the space-bar
THAT WASN'T A BAD SPACEBAR AT FIRST
yes i built a Keybored
Nice
what keyboard is this
