I've used four of your card tricks at work the other day - with the young lad I support and my colleague. I put on a bit of a show with the tricks, and the reaction I received from them (particularly my colleague) was great. He said he's only ever seen magic on TV, never close up, and was very impressed. This is down to you Matt, so thank you 👍
Me too, I love to show some card tricks during the work breaks and Matt's stuff is amazing and so well explained! Thanks for sharing :) PS: I fooled myself during first try!
Hello! I LOVE your card videos. I've been practicing magic for 54 years starting at age seven. I'm not half bad. But there is ALWAYS more to learn, and you really emphasize keeping it fun. Thank you!
You’re right brother, there is always something that you can pick up from any performance. So glad you thought enough of this to drop me a comment. Glad you found it useful!
I love tricks like this! I always say that 'once is a trick and twice is a lesson', so I usually only show a trick once and leave them wanting more. Tricks like this with two parts almost makes them feel like they saw it twice and it blows their minds. Great effect and perfect for pretty much everywhere! Thanks for sharing and for your great explanation!
Love this routine! I like that it has two parts with the spectator doing the same thing but with different outcomes. Very fooling. Also, your enthusiasm is addictive. Keep 'em coming!
That's why I always look forward to your videos! Amazing trick with a brilliant and simple explanation! Going to show it to random people in the Club! That would be great! Thank you so much!
Worked out the maths but still effective, especially with the second part. I think I will do the final reveal with the pack face up, letting the spectators working out the reveal. TOB
It works cuz non of that disturbs the order… is only an ilusion… you set them then flip in pairs and then unset them back… only the spectator card is off since that one was indeed disturbed individually
very cool trick, but how well does it work if the ppl cant follow instructions? with tricks like these my friend seem to forget how to count to 2. dont understand how to cut the cards, ect,,, how do you deal with that? other than dont let the touch anything...lol
Nice. "No set up", then "this shuffle and simple cut will not ruint your setup". I do not mind the setup, especially if it can be done easily in plain sight
@@MattMcGurk ever do the shadow box ? ( girl from light, one of hennings' favorite? ) I used to do that one , along with some others. my profile Pic, if you can see it , is an actual show picture of one of my performances . I did a twist on it that I've never seen done before. After showing the box empty , I would switch places with another stage hand who was dressed in an identical costume, and when the shadow box lit up , they expected someone else to pop out , but to their surprise, it was me instead.
Letting the spectator shuffle at the start just gives the impression of fairness. Best to think that you’re just taking cards out of the deck, it’s not a cull as such. It’s more the impression of that you’re doing more than what you are technically doing.
A nice trick, but the explaning is a bit strange, for part 2! Ill think there is the problem, why some ppl fail to reprocess the routine! The Point is 1. explaining the Charlier shuffel bring the most out and than the point that you show 3 times variations of if a Card is face up or down, so the ppl do it multiple times and of corse it will fail than!
Shuffling at the start just shows that the cards are not in any pre-arranged order. It also shows fairness and ‘honesty’ in what you are doing. Having the spectator shuffle shows them you have nothing to hide. You can choose not to shuffle, it’s completely up to you.
But you do not take 12 random cards, you go by the deck specifically choose 12. It doesn’t matter where those 12 cards are if you are going to look for them. If you are going to choose ace of spades and 8 of hearts. You can shuffle all you want, then you give the deck to me and I’ll go passing cards until I see those two and separate them
Ah do you mean ‘Triumph?’ Yes it could be seen as a small packet version of that, especially the last part. If you’re studying Vernon then you can’t get any better than that! 👍
Nope, I had the same problem. It’s not in the cutting it’s in the way you flip the deck over and take the card. You are not taking the top card each time but top bottom, top bottom or as you turn the deck over you are just thumbing the cards off. Only use your thumb. You will find it will work. He did not explain this well at all.
@@rendtech Also, just to clarify - You are always taking the top card of the packet each time, its just that your hand alternates palm up, the palm down, but it is always the top card of the packet. its's always the card your thumb is on. I did explain this twice for clarity.
Re learn the part where you correct the cards by turning your right hand back and forth. Make sure it’s always the top card that is getting pushed off and also that each card is going on top of the next card . Hope this helps
Hi! Sorry wasnt trying to insult. 70 n paralyzed by evil keepers on death bed, even, so dont mince words much. My last trick ever and its brilliant! Its the one with 4 queens and 16 cards. Nice work! But I can’t take all the credit, you actually put the work in and mastered them. Sounds like you did a fantastic job. Well done! 👍

Indeed, they think they do the same trick again and the result is all different, it is so great about this one, isn't it?
Matt McGurc, du bist klasse! Danke für alle die tollen Tricks, die du sehr gut erklärst und auch jeder nachmachen kann.

Yes it’s easily done! 👍

Hope you're enjoying your cruise . You performing stage , closeup or both ... or.. maybe just a vacation?? nah , i peg you working the gig ❤️..
Well yes it is a bit of both! I’m performing my theatre show, which is a combination of large scale illusion and sleight of hand 🤚

Why shuffle the cards in the beginning if you are going to cull 12 cards to start?
Letting the spectator shuffle at the start just gives the impression of fairness. Best to think that you’re just taking cards out of the deck, it’s not a cull as such. It’s more the impression of that you’re doing more than what you are technically doing.
@@MattMcGurk thank you for the reply. Sometimes I forget to look at experience from a spectators point of view...
Where can I see you live? I'm too poor for cruise ships😔
Hopefully one day 🙏
GREAT TRICK THANK YOU
You're welcome!
You can do a great “out of this world” with the same principle.
Absolutely 👍
1st trick Was kool. But 2nd trick WAS ANOTHER 🎥 ANOTHER DAY
Thanks for the feedback my friend.
Why shuffle if you’re just going to pick out the 12 cards you want? Just start with the 12 cards you want. 👍
A nice trick, but the explaning is a bit strange, for part 2!

Whats the point of shuffling at the start of the trick if then you “choose” 12 cards

Why the hell did you shuffle it if you take out 12 cards?
❤️❤️❤️
Thats mind blowing
Thanks man, now go out and perform it for someone. Good luck!

Similar to the Dai Vernon trick
Which one? ☝️
Ah do you mean ‘Triumph?’ Yes it could be seen as a small packet version of that, especially the last part. If you’re studying Vernon then you can’t get any better than that! 👍
didn't work, my face up and face down were all mixed, will keep trying
Keep trying! You got this 👊
I was the same but just keep practicing and it will work. My problem was the cutting, make sure to watch exactly what max does
Nope, I had the same problem. It’s not in the cutting it’s in the way you flip the deck over and take the card. @@MattMcGurk I did but it HD loads of blacks and reds together not alternating like in the video
No thank you with all due respect. Boring for other spectators
Well that really depends on the ability of the performer to engage the audience. The trick is only a tool.
Too much under table stuff.
U have only 1 beginner trick i like and it's amazing
