I bought a toyota gt86 2012 for 18k euros in spain , im 20 years old and i think this car isnt slow , very fast going in and out of corners fun to drive and very sporty driving experience , also I hate the way people blame this car to be too slow , I guess everyone owns a e92 m3 or something like that... I have done speed test against sirocco 2.0 tsi and yeah it might be a bit slower on the 0 to 100km/h but when im going into the corner at 80km/h he is going at 60... Also I do around 550-600km with the fuel tank when pretty much messing around with it all day , so do I recommend this car? Yeah its cheap to maintain easy to drive and more confortable that people think , considering that i weight 79kg and im 1.9meters tall and I spend 2-3hours a day on it without a problem. The only issue like every other coupe is the small space in the back , its a car made for 2 people thats obviously , in the other hand i dont see any other option if u want a rear wheel car with the feeling of a atmospheric boxer engine , coupe and with a very sensitive and short gear box ! I hope my opinion helps if anyone is thinking of getting this car and sorry for bad english spelling etc!
A bought one a few years ago when it first came out and paid 24k. It was amazing for the price and the best part was the resale value. I traded it in for a WRX and I wasn't upside down. I had 2k in equity! Still have my WRX though, It handles better and can hang with v8s all day. The driving experiance isn't as good but the AWD and extra 100hp more than make up for it.
It looks great in silver. I bought a 2016 Mustang and love it but I really like this back to basics type sports car. People get hung up on hp but trust me this car is a blast to drive. If I were younger I would have bought this car.
i didn't think much of the BRZ/FRS/GT86 when they just came out and a decent amount of time after that. But since around 1 and a half year ago i started to look into them a little more, and more, and more. Now i love them, i always preferred basic cars, And i always find myself not using many accessories like A/C, Parking cams/censors, ect ect ect, And i always find myself being more interested in cars that are more for fun then power. therefor think it would fit me pretty well. Off course there is the pretty bad back view and blind spots but then again, What car doesn't have a weaker point here or there.
I was looking into buying this car. I like the idea of the sports car and fun while driving. I was wanting more power though, so I actually ended up purchasing the 2SS Camaro. I am loving my purchase, but I still like this 86.
Camaro is a nice car but imo its quite different from the 86. The Camaro SS is 900lbs heavier and outward visibility is one of the worst out there. Don't get me wrong I think the Camaro is a great car but its not without its compromises.
xuimod people always talk crap about visibility in the Camaro. I couldn't disagree more. I drive it every day and have not had a problem seeing anything. I love the cockpit feeling. having the Blindspot monitoring and the backup camera make it all even easier.
Most of the spec things you list as not being options are standard in the UK. Heated leather seats, dual climate control, touch screen, bluetooth hifi, keyless entry, push button start, Colour TFT dash display, etc. etc. They take all this stuff out to make it cheaper for the US market.
I can’t believe how much more options and standard features there are in the brz. You get leather and heated seats standard. And can pick almost any dealer options you want or can imagine.
For those who want a turbo Toyota, the Supra is going to be brought back in the next couple years. Look up, "2019 Toyota Supra." As for the 2017 86, it may be a little overpriced currently, but the value will depreciate a lot over the next few years, and that's when I hope to get one. One of the things I like about the '17 86 is that the reliability is much better than the FR-S, according to JD Power.
so i have a 2015 manual FR-S...i have almost 27k miles on it, I get on average 31.1 mpg....this is my daily driver and i have a 30-35 mile commute to work (mostly freeway)...and im 24, so i definitely ride the car hard.
or mustang. finnaly someone think same of me. you would have to LOVELOVELOVELOVELOVE toyota to buy this car and look at it.. inside is like very poor ok come on guys sport cars doesnt means they dont have to be good looking or smart desing expensive meterials and more.. They can do more on this car.
Sure you can, you can't call a BRZ/86 light at 2800lbs, it's average. The new mx5 RF is 2300lbs and even with 50 less horsepower is a quicker car. As most owners will never take them to a track a new base mustang or camaro will handle exceptionally well on the road next to a BRZ/86 but deliver far more daily driver luxuries, more power while getting the same or better fuel economy and a lower sticker price. If any BRZ/86 driver decides to track their car all the handling in the world doesn't make up for all the tail lights passing you.
I was really considering this car but I have a son now so I don't think it would be a very good choice. A WRX would be more practical for me and it's still a fun car.
aireworkz the wrx is a practical car, but its a not so pretty sedan and most people (non car people) will not look twice at the car. however with price points not that far off, the wrx is a better buy. awd, turbo set up makes the car a very fun car to drive and ride in, i wish they had a 2 door verson of the wrx :(
I don’t know about the versions you get to there, but in Japan it was always the 86, and trim levels are (from basic to top-tier) G, GT, GT Limited, and GT High Performance. G is the one pictured here or its equivalent. GT grade, like mine, has better interior, redesigned center instruments, and larger stock wheels. GT Limited has the previous upgrades plus upgraded interior with alcantara, and heated seats along with different underpanels. GT high performance grade has the previous plus upgraded wheels, big brake calipers, and accents etc. There are also special variations like Black Package and GR and GR Sport, at least here in Japan.
It looks like the Edlebrock Supercharger is the way to go with this car, they went above and beyond with the engineering of that thing, and i honestly think its better than what Toyobaru would have done themselves... But its not hard for Subaru to just throw in the Stock turbo engine now in WRX STI and just have a BRZ STI....
fatboy19831 you can buy tires first and hang with faster cars on the track. It's not about test driving the 86 (formerly FRS) on a highway and saying, "it's slow." I've had guys in Mustangs come up on the highway and want to race and take off cuz they want to show off to their girlfriend, and yeah, it takes forever for me to catch them in my FRS, but I've passed them on tight highway interchange turns going 70 while they have to drop down to 55-60. They try to speed up mid turn and we all know what that's gonna do. Mine is only lowered, imagine with better tires. Granted it could use more hp, personally I say 25hp more for an even 230 and a flatter torque curve.
unresolved777 An E85 tune will give you the power and torque you need at the expense of fuel economy. On the stock tires a Mustang Live axel V6 is actually FASTER than the FRS around turns with the right line (not the GT with the base suspension) . The Mustang is difficult to change your path once it is set at high speed. You just Understeer. You can change your path in the FRS as long as you don't upset the balance to much.
Great review ! This car is gorgeous and I want to buy it, but my brain knows the Golf GTI is just an all round better car. Sadly my everyday commute isn't with twisty mountains or at a race track, it's behind peak traffic and I think that's the worst point about this car.. If it didn't suck so much in interior quality, ride comfort, noise and fuel efficiency I would've bought it regardless of the lack of the power.. it seems to have far too many negatives and only few positives like Aesthetics and driving fun.
The Z has less space on the inside, only has 2 seats , gets about 8 mpg less in the real world, has no limited slip, weighs 500 pounds more and just lacks the agility and feel of the 86. In fact the Z handles like a good sedan not a sports car. Under 30k you have a choice high hp or low weight. You cant have both.
fatboy19831 boxer engines are supposed to be turbocharged, everything is the same but you'll get more power so leaving corners it's up to the skill of the driver to not spin out once you get the boost
Shitler, No everything is not the same. The Compression ratio is lower on a Turbo boxer. You have long runs from the Turbo to the head. Both things give you unavoidable turbo lag. ALL TURBO SUBARUS HAVE HORRIBLE TURBO LAG. The Wrx has far less lag than the STI. The WRX is still flat on the bottom end. To make the WRX more responsive Subaru used a small Turbo. A small turbo acts just like a potato in the tail pipe at high revs. The WRX is done for the most part buy 5500 rpm. The N/A 2.0 is just getting started at 5500 rpm. Subaru could have given the N/A 2.0 20 more hp but it would even be slower in normal driving. The bottom end torque would be compromised. There will ALWAYS compromises in the automotive world. There is no free lunch. You want a light weight turbo Boxer 4 sports car with very little lag and a good top end? The $60,000 Boxster is your car.
"No push button start"? What happened to it? They've had it since the first models. Or is it just the version you guys have? I test drove one that had heated seats, DUAL climate controls, push start, Bluetooth, pretty much all you need.
at 4:02 it sounds like a huge downgrade to the previous model. my '14 gt86 has heated seats, ac, automatic dual zone climate control, leather/alcantara seats, lether armrests, keyless go with a pushbutton like the gtr, a satnav, bluetooth radio, electrical folding side mirrors. i upgraded some parking sensors and a reverse camera for 400$ at a local toyota dealership. whats the problem with that? more extras that i even use. and the worst part about the new gt86 is the missing wing, the back covers of the trunk and the "smart" steering wheel. like seriously it does look like a freaking steering wheel directly from a smart.
I love this car , I have an automatic. But the wheel gap is too wide. I don't want lowering springs or coilover. I want to keep it stock but would like to close that gap a bit , what do you recommend ? I'm don't know much about cars ThAnks for any input guys/gals
I owned a Scion FR-S before, and I really loved the car for what it was, a simple back to basics no frills sports car. I didn't care for navigation systems or other gadgetry available on today's car! All I wanted was a good well balanced and back to basics sports car, I had it all with the fr-s, the only thing I would had hoped for! Was a little more hp, unlist 100 more would had been enough, but even like that it wasn't that bad of a drivers car, considering the power to weigh ratio for this car, it meant you still get a spirited driving. And compared to the Mazda Miata, its was more fun to drive for me. And I'm glad that Toyota decided to keep the car and renamed as the 86, would I buy another one? Definitely I would! It's a great little car.
Well the reason I had to get rid of the car! Is because, here in Chicago we get bad winters at times. So I had to trade it for a Jeep Wrangler, so I needed something to get me through the winter months. I had time last were I almost killed my self a few times and that's with winter tires on it! But I wasn't feeling that secure and safe driving it! Now I will buy another one in the near future that's for sure. I still love tha car!
Anibal Babilonia I see, im Canadian, our winters are way worse than yours. Doesnt stop me from daily driving a 400hp rwd coupe though. I simply refuse to sacrifice what i love driving for a few bad days in a year.
Well yeah you are true but that is more modern look and toyota just sayd fuck it and just made it they make hard choises like how tf can they know what people want
Most of the stuff it doesn't come with could definitely just be swapped. If I got it I'd swap speakers and head unit, add Push to Start and Remote. Assuming it has cruise, I'm sold.
i would buy the brz but in PR we dnt have it, so i need to buy it in usa and bring it here it will be 4,360$ just to bring it, what im thinking of doing is buying an frs or a toyota 86 and buying the brz extra parts from ebay...
Just get a used (low miles) 2016 mustang ecoboost.... better in every aspect and costs less than this disappointment if you find the right dealer. Downside on the mustang is it might not be as good for those mountain drives.... Who cares, how many days out of the year will you really be heading out to those mountain drives? Waste of gas if more than 2 times imo. In spite of this, I do love the fundamentals of the 86 due to its grand potential. But it's only left at potential...
Damn so much hate. Toyota should just drop it a couple of grand. Or you could spend the same amount of dosh and get the original ae86. Either way yall still be complaing.
xTW33T3Rx You're acting like a rebadged scion has any more class. Its no benz or bmw. It's a cheap ass underpowered sports car with a cheap ass interior that only looks half decent. How can you talk down on a civic driving a scion
Meh, it's basically a sport sedan with 2 doors. If the suspension were lower and the body had a little more aggression, then I'd say it's worth the price tag. I'm not going to criticize the engine power because, well, it's a budget sports car. But in it's current state, I'd say it's worth 21-24k, not almost 30k. May as well go with a base-line Nissan 370z for just 1-2k more, or alternatively a base-line V8 Mustang. I will say though, the manual gearbox on this 86 looks like a blast and I bet it's fantastic on a track for circuits and drifting.
The 370z is a great choice but it's trunk means it can't suit many people as their daily driver which many buyers of this car want, and you can buy coilovers, new wheels/tires etc on your own I don't understand what the big deal is there.
Justin Waters Can you elaborate what you.mean by "suspension lowered"? You seem rather misinformed about this car. The car at its stock for has a center of gravity that is lower than some mid engine Ferraris. That's mainly due to how low slung the engine and the whole drivetrain is. It had a stock ride height of a C7 Corevette. It has rear double wishbone suspension. It weighs 2750 lbs. Besides a Miata and Lotus's what other red production cars are lighter? This is a far more purpose built sports car than a Mustang or any sporty car in the 30 grand or less price bracket other than maybe the miata.
Justin Waters Can you elaborate what you mean by "suspension lowered"? You seem rather misinformed about this car. The car at its stock form has a center of gravity that is lower than some mid engine Ferraris. That's mainly due to how low slung the engine and the whole drivetrain is. It has a stock ride height of a C7 Corevette. It has rear double wishbone suspension. It weighs 2750 lbs. Besides a Miata and Lotuses, what other rwd production sports cars are lighter that are being produced today? This is a far more purpose built sports car than a Mustang or any sporty car in the 30 grand or less price bracket other than maybe the miata. If the 86 is a sports sedan with two doors a Mustang which weighs half a ton more is a freaking school bus. But it isn't. The 86 is a built from the ground up bespoke chassis sports car. A 370Z is basically a Japanese muscle car. It's a pig compared to the 86 by weighing almost 600 lbs more. It doesn't have the chassis balance and the low slung center of gravity of the 86.
The frs gt86 whatever is great until shit starts going wrong and the Toyota dealer doesn't know what's wrong because they have never worked on a boxer engine. Just saying..... I'm not bitter that a car I paid almost 30grand for is fucking up after only 2 years.... not bitter at all 😬
It should come with a turbo stock for this price. Or, a base price of like 20 grand considering there are no new technology features. It's a basic car that is small, small weak engine, and basic transmission, why does this cost more than more advanced loaded cars?
Spencer Dardon for one, it is a foreign car so it will be more expensive in America compared to comaro's and mustangs which are 5k less due to being American with no additional hidden tax😒. 2.) The money is in the suspension and tuning and the boxer unit which is 100hp /liter which is great for a car with NO turbo. 3.) The car is meant to be "balanced" (quote from Toyota) so faster in a straight doesnt always mean better. Do people ussually complain about Miatas being slow in a straight line? Not many people becasue it is meant to be a drivers car
the previous gt86 models were actually just rebadged brz's. toyota even had bodykits which subaru never sold for their cars. that's a cheap piece of crap compared to the previous model. my '14 gt86 has all the extras which were mentioned in the video as missing at 4:02
They should make it so super charging this car doesn't ruin warranty. OR JUST COME WITH A MODEL THAT HAS A SUPER CHARGER :D call it GT86 Turbo or something or GT86 Super. But then that would make it what..roughly 300hp and 250 torque I'm guessing? That kinda makes it too bargain compared to other light weight sport cars offered by well..better brands or more expensive brands
Ok no heated seats? It seems like the us version is wayy shittier than the EU model. Here you can get heated seats, leather and nicer buttons for a little extra
HAHAHAHA THE AMERICANS ARE STUFFED! Here in australia you get, leather seats, satellite navigation, headlamp washers, a boot spoiler,a screen on the speedometer area you get a 4.2 inch info screen, the interior is much more high quality, you get push button start, heated seats, automatic climate control, etc
27k!!!! The Mustang EcoBoost is 26k with 310 hp and 320poinds of torque. why is the Toyota 86 so expensive if it has such a terrible out dated interior.
Maybe some people don't like new interiors? I like cars as cars, not an overpriced ipod ripoff (of course, I'd still consider the 86 as overpriced haha).
Nermket once you have a car with a nice interior you can't go back... I have a 10.2 inch tablet screen in my vehicle, leather seats, excetera excetera. I couldn't imagine going back to a 90 style interior car..... If im dropping 27 or 30 Grand on a car I expect the car to also include a nice interior. but again this is just my personal opinion...it means nothing😆😆😆
Ancient Ruins Official that makes sense too. It's like car makers can't decide between making tuna cans or spaceships, so they do something inbetween that isn't entirely worth it. but for comparison, the original 86 was the equivalent of $25k in the 80s (at like $11k)
Great review, all points well covered, but 2 suggestions: please provide a road view while driving hard in a canyon or twisty, and please fire the sound track musicians and hire someone who can do a better backing track. Thx!
But the genesis has like no feel for the same money... its just a pretty korean mustang essentially with some show and go.This platform keeps is speed easily in corners and will catch up with much more powerful cars... not to mention you can actually enter corners at much higher speeds with this car.. just tune it a little and make it yours
Very misinformed. heated seats, auto dual zone climate control and leather seats are all available on this car.
source: I own one
On the GTS not the GT
@@SkyRu1eGaming I own gt. Can confirm. Misinformed video

Pablo, great review and thanks for your thoughts and opinions 👍
My BRZ literally has every single one of the gadgets you mentioned it doesn't have
Still would take the t 86.
This is a finely balanced racecar and all you talk about is lack of luxury and space. Didn't even take it to the track
The Toyota 86 should be the basic version of this car and the GT86 should be the performance package with a turbo.
Francisco Hanache We have the original you are all lucky to get any version, especially the Type R Civic as well ;)
Starting to like this channel. down-to-earth, and more practical reviews, with interesting discussions.
27k for this car is not cheap, I feel more like this car should cost 23k-24k considering how stripped down it is.
it's 27k for the toyota badge tbh
Noel Molina yes I literally replayed that part 5 times because my high ass didn't think I heard him right. This car was $23k when I came out wtf
Noel Molina Plus taxes etc it will reach over 30k
A bought one a few years ago when it first came out and paid 24k. It was amazing for the price and the best part was the resale value. I traded it in for a WRX and I wasn't upside down. cost million to our country xD
I like your review format dude, the questions really help to frame it al nicely. Well done.

I just wish this thing had a targa top option.
or t tops or a sun roof.. something.
I love how 'How's the Storage?" is a question. Obviously that's on my priority list, if I'm buying a sports car.
It's a car review. It's only right to mention things such as the storage space.
I was actually trying to find this type of question. Very good to know.
Not supercharged. Check specs in description. Also where are you from Mr Holmes?
I was looking into buying this car. I like the idea of the sports car and fun while driving. I was wanting more power though, so I actually ended up purchasing the 2SS Camaro. I am loving my purchase, but I still like this 86.
Jorel DeLeon better choice..i dnt like how toyota decided to only give it a 5hp bump. had it been turbo or a v6i td get more buyers
just bought a camaro as well. I'm having a blast driving it
Camaro is a nice car but imo its quite different from the 86. The Camaro SS is 900lbs heavier and outward visibility is one of the worst out there. Don't get me wrong I think the Camaro is a great car but its not without its compromises.

well he has blindspot monitoring and a backup camera so... i don't know what the issue would be.
"There's so much power" lol cooked af
Zhe they need at least 250 hp stock
Enough for your skill on the track.

I have the 860 special edition in Supernova. It's even better with more features.
I liked the previous version much more
I can’t believe how much more options and standard features there are in the brz. You get leather and heated seats standard. And can pick almost any dealer options you want or can imagine.
Seems like Honda just took a crap on the BRZ and this is the result.
Everyone keeps complaining but how can you know how well it corner and such as untill you test it
Do a review of 2017 subaru brz or a comparison between 2017 toyota 86 and 2017 subaru brz
Very well put togather video.
You covered all the points of interest, in a informative and crisp manner.
Way to go.

Whaat, you can't just compare two heavey and "more serious" cars that can't handle to a lightweight one made for handling and having fun '-'

The old 86 came with push button start and also the exact same climate control knobs as the BRZ, I wonder why this one doesn't have them
Only the FRS Series 10's had push button start. Standard FRS's didn't have them.
xuimod Hmmm, all 86s came with push button start in my country, I hope the new one will come with one too, because this car is crazy expensive here...

JDubbs07 HSK made a supercharger model on the last generation (2012) of the gt86
Why not just buy a faster car vs spending 7 grand on power for the 86 before you even add brakes and tires.
fatboy19831 you can buy tires first and hang with faster cars on the track. It's not about test driving the 86 (formerly FRS) on a highway and saying, "it's slow." I have this car, 2017 model (this one). Very squishy in the back but it's nice!
When does the 2018 version come out 😍
What's the song at 0:53?
Great review ! This car is gorgeous and I want to buy it, but my brain knows the Golf GTI is just an all round better car.
Sadly my everyday commute isn't with twisty mountains or at a race track, it's behind peak traffic and I think that's the worst point about this car.. If it didn't suck so much in interior quality, ride comfort, noise and fuel efficiency I would've bought it regardless of the lack of the power.. it seems to have far too many negatives and only few positives like Aesthetics and driving fun.
sweet baby jesus! $27,000 is cheap???? for $29,000 u can get a 370z with 332hp
Yes It is, in my country you get Yaris for that price
The Z has less space on the inside, only has 2 seats , gets about 8 mpg less in the real world, has no limited slip, weighs 500 pounds more and just lacks the agility and feel of the 86. In fact the Z handles like a good sedan not a sports car. Under 30k you have a choice high hp or low weight. You cant have both.
Definitely wouldn't want a base model Z
fatboy19831 boxer engines are supposed to be turbocharged, everything is the same but you'll get more power so leaving corners it's up to the skill of the driver to not spin out once you get the boost
The $60,000 Boxster is your car.
i felt the same about the design. in photos i wasnt impressed but since ive seen it in person it looks better than the first version.
"No push button start"? What happened to it? They've had it since the first models. Or is it just the version you guys have?
I test drove one that had heated seats, DUAL climate controls, push start, Bluetooth, pretty much all you need.
The new generation of the Toyota AE86
my 86 is push button start, wondered why they didn't do that to this 86
at 4:02 it sounds like a huge downgrade to the previous model. my '14 gt86 has heated seats, ac, automatic dual zone climate control, leather/alcantara seats, lether armrests, keyless go with a pushbutton like the gtr, a satnav, bluetooth radio, electrical folding side mirrors. i upgraded some parking sensors and a reverse camera for 400$ at a local toyota dealership. whats the problem with that? more extras that i even use.
and the worst part about the new gt86 is the missing wing, the back covers of the trunk and the "smart" steering wheel. like seriously it does look like a freaking steering wheel directly from a smart.
i bought the TRD model and it's great even though it's small but i still love it and modding it.. best my car choice atm...
Can I take the hood out ? Or is it permanently attached to the car?
I really like how the review is done, where they ask common asked questions
Toyota told this presenter not to talk about how in the BRZ you can get heated seats, Apple CarPlay, better interior upgrades, Brembo brakes
Anibal Babilonia What happened to it?
Now that I have the jeep for winter, I'll wait a few years and buy the car, that way I'll use the jeep for winter and the car for summer
Toyota screwed up how the 2017 GT86 looks. They should've kept the previous looks but with slight facelifts. Subaru did a better job in my opinion.
Well yeah you are true but that is more modern look and toyota just sayd fuck it and just made it they make hard choises like how tf can they know what people want
there's a thing called modifying your car
It does look nicer in person I think. Images have a way of distorting the proportions.
what is the different between the frs and the 86?
Damn this or the type R civic? This is going to be a tough decision. The type R is faster, but the GT86 handles like a dream.
Type R is nice
you don't want an understeering FWD, bro.
jalene150 get the type r. I had an FRS it sucked so slow (great handling) and no leg room
Arshia Aryan lol FWD lawnmower
You can lie all you want but I fucking guarantee you've never driven a Type R
Do a 2017 BRZ
the higher trim 86’s have push to start better cooler console heated seats and all that stuff bc i have one with all that
was split between this and the accourd coupe v6 but went with the accord more practical and a lot quicker
Great car better than previous fr-s but they had no idea what a ae86 should look like. I want my ae86 not the same.
Do you know if the U.S is getting a Limited trim like every other country in the world? It seems like only the BRZ gets a limited trim.
The 86 is beast dude. I tried it out at the dealer and it pulls hard.
It don't really care for the limited. I'd only get it if I wanted leather.
Yeah I like the modern amenities so I got the BRZ limited instead. Loving it so far!
Most of the stuff it doesn't come with could definitely just be swapped.
If I got it I'd swap speakers and head unit, add Push to Start and Remote.
Assuming it has cruise, I'm sold.
This car is perfect, colour of both interior and exterior, wheels, everything. Whish I can afford wone. Both to buy and premium fuel. Cheers
Hello...would you like make a video over toyota sienta latest model..please..
Thank u..
I wonder can you put big turbos on that thing 🤔🤔🤔
i would buy the brz but in PR we dnt have it, so i need to buy it in usa and bring it here it will be 4,360$ just to bring it, what im thinking of doing is buying an frs or a toyota 86 and buying the brz extra parts from ebay...
for those who said bad things about this car and never driven one, I suggest you go and try a 6-speed manual, you will know right away!
everything about this car is sexy af
Can you do a review for a VW GTI DSG sport?
So which is better? The BRZ or the 86?
12,000 for a gt86, that ain't bad, when I'm old enough to get that car I guess it won't be alot
+ supercharger (to bring down that 7.4 sec 60mph)
+ tech
+ interior styling
32k$ happily
I have a 2014 brz and I love her!
is this Toyota 86 better than a Hyundai genesis coupe?
I think it's simply design for people who want to customize it . Still isn't cheap tho for the options available on the market
in the UK you get full equipped.
I would use the back seats for a nice Labrador Retriever.
Love the GT86. I really do, but for this price point do yourself a favor and get the 2017 Civic Si.
ya, that way you'd be the coolest guy in yuma az! all you'd need is a lift kit for the civic, know what im saying "homie"?
xTW33T3Rx You're acting like a rebadged scion has any more class. Its no benz or bmw. It's a cheap ass underpowered sports car with a cheap ass interior that only looks half decent.
How can you talk down on a civic driving a scion
I think I'll rather get an older sti or z32
This car is wonderful for its price, in China it costs about 50% more !

Justin Waters drive one and you'll understand
how about wrx?
The frs gt86 whatever is great until shit starts going wrong and the Toyota dealer doesn't know what's wrong because they have never worked on a boxer engine. Just saying..... I'm not bitter that a car I paid almost 30grand for is fucking up after only 2 years.... not bitter at all 😬
Maybe you could take it to a subaru place lol sucks though
How much did Toyota pay you bro
Ur stupid that is a good car
I am a kid but the car does not have too much buttons or tech because it wants to stay true to the AE86
so I'm guessing that this car should have been a 2 seat?
Braeden Black is the BRZ more luxurious
the previous gt86 models were actually just rebadged brz's. toyota even had bodykits which subaru never sold for their cars. that's a cheap piece of crap compared to the previous model. my '14 gt86 has all the extras which were mentioned in the video as missing at 4:02
jason hang toyota made it a 4 seat to lower the insurance group
I cannot for the life of me figure out this guy's accent haha.
Basically the Celica's replacement? Kind of? :/
In many ways it reminds me of the 70’s Datsun 240Z, which is not a bad thing. BRZ is the better version.
Why is Darth Vader asking you all of these questions? Is he looking for a new car?
I wish there was more space in the back so I can easily carry friends with me
I can tell how this guy needs a sports car.
I can't place your accent. Where are you from?
Nice review but I feel so uncomfortable with the person asking the question. I find it unfitting.
Nermket having said all those negative things about the interior of the 86 I still think the car is a pretty badass car with a great exterior look.
people bitching about the interior when true car guys will strip it anyway lol
wtf what are people complaining here about the costs. In the Netherlands this car costs (with taxes) €51000 for the manual. that is $55k
that's fucking ridiculous. I bet it costs even more in sweden
I want to buy this and daily it, but live in Canada... guess ill stick to my 01 civic.
So this or the Nissan 370 z
Cristian Noel tough choice but the Z is my dream car lol
its coming out in a convertible soon, wait for that model before you buy one
dji zzah where it at tho
Great review, all points well covered, but 2 suggestions: please provide a road view while driving hard in a canyon or twisty, and please fire the sound track musicians and hire someone who can do a better backing track. Thx!
Genesis coupe quality, reliability, warranty, and POWER waaaay better for the price
Eric Gutierrez Quality?
Eric Gutierrez what about chassis balance? weight? steering feedback? shifter feel? center of gravity?
But the genesis has like no feel for the same money... its just a pretty korean mustang essentially with some show and go.This platform keeps is speed easily in corners and will catch up with much more powerful cars... not to mention you can actually enter corners at much higher speeds with this car.. just tune it a little and make it yours
LegendInThaMakin yes for the price if u haven't driven or owned a gen coupe then you really have no say sir.
Farhan Chowdhury for 27k base there are much better choices
This has nothing compared to the Australian version
