My little sister was in one of the front rows with a friend when Tommy collapsed on stage. Everyone thought it was part of the show but my sister's friend, who was an experienced nurse, immediately knew he had died because she had heard the so-called "death rattle". Tommy was definitely one of my favorite comedians.

My dad was in Egypt during WWII. I have a photo of him wearing a fez while in his daytime gear. Even wearing the fez he looked very handsome. He loved comedians like Tommy Cooper. Its not until you grow up that you realise how clever he was getting the tricks wrong. Good video Alan, thank you.

The Sunday night he died I was watching him on tv at the palladium and I went out down my local club and I couldn’t believe it when I walked through the door and my mate told me Tommy Cooper had died I thought he was pulling my leg as i was just watching him before I went out. Great video and a fantastic tribute to another comedy genius 👏👏👏

Hi Alan. If you go on Google maps and set it to satellite view, look at the cemetery, and it actually shows you exactly where Tommy's memorial stone is. He has a daughter, my age which is 69, and their children can't all live away from where they are buried.I know it is 1984 but if someone is fit and well then why can't they visit. Tommy left £327,000 in his 1984 will which could buy 4 or 5 London Detached houses. Also, did you notice no sign of his beloved wife "Dove" , who died in 2002 on the headstone? I just read he had a 17-year affair with his married travelling assistant: Mary Kay. though, apparently, Dove went into denial over this and when told, did not want to know about it.If Institutions like Tommy are neglected, then what chance do the rest of us have ? :)

Never got to watch Tommy Cooper during the 70's up to his death in the 80's as my Old Man had a hatred of Commercial TV and had our old black and white TV doctored so we couldn't watch ITV. There are loads of TV shows missed out on. It was Morecambe and Wise and the Two Ronnies for me.

Never a Sir or lord god what a laff that would be a great guy a taxi driver once said he picked tommy up to go to a show when dropped him off tommy put something in his top pocket tommy said have a drink on me later he checked to what tommy had given and pulled a typhoo T bag out his pocket only tommy could do that what a hero.Pity about the grave disgusted.
