🔎 About socials:
If I tag socials, then this should be done for ALL players (without a single exception), and not just for one person. Socials of some players can not be found (players with default nicknames, some Asian players, etc). I am convinced that it's extremely dishonest to tag contacts of few people and not to tag all the rest, so there will be no social links in description.
But I respect the players whose matches I post. Therefore, if you are sure that videos presented "as is" are not acceptable, I will stop posting content with your participation and remove the ones posted earlier.
If you want to tag socials by yourself, feel free to post usernames in comment section (RUclips may remove links).

⚠️ All of the footage was captured by me directly from the in-game replay system (openly available for all players to view and share public replays) then edited in DaVinci Resolve. All footage represented on my channel is copyright free. The purpose of these videos is to provide educational high level content of Guilty Gear Strive, so the viewer can learn new combos and more!

As to be expected, Gobou - the most oppressive Asuka user - also known as Solitaire Ogre, has demonstrated that he is such a strong player, that he commonly will make disadvantageous match-ups appear Asuka-favored; such as the May/Asuka match-up.
What makes the Asuka vs. May Match-up hard for Asuka, is due to a few key factors: According to Gobou, a May user can utilize jD in the air to avoid all of Asuka's magic, and if this continues on before the Asuka user can get any return by forcing the May player to block the cubes, Asuka will run out of steam (resources) and lose the round or game...
Additionally, the risk/return when landing a single hit as a May user is far greater than that of an Asuka user - and in many circumstances - it only takes one good hit from a strong May player to nearly drain, or fully deplete Asuka's Mana gauge; and because of how weak Asuka is against May's rock, paper, scissors situations while in the corner, if you do not have access to any good spells to defend yourself, then the round/game is more than likely over.
Another point I would like to make, is that Gobou declared that Asuka has the hardest time of any character dealing with jump-ins, and the arc of May's jump, coupled with its height, is a nightmare to deal with as Asuka; and that is why you routinely see Asuka players getting counter hit by May's jHS, followed by a Burst (if available) from the Asuka player.
I would also like to mention that I watched a replay of Komekome's Asuka vs. ゆう(Yuu)'s May, and it was... a bit hard to watch... as he - despite having far better defense than any other Asuka user in existence, essentially got annihilated... it was due to the same reasons as to why May is difficult to deal with as Case 3 Asuka; however, Case 3 is so much stronger than Case 2 in every way, that having better defense in many match-ups - does not even matter. Case 2 at the highest level does not have the ambiguity of mixups and firepower to make your opponent fear or respect it - as Case 3 does -- and that is why Case 3 is the meta for Asuka users; in Gobou's own words, using Case 1 or Case 2 "is only making every match-up and situation harder on yourself." So, if you do not play primarily for fun, playing the weaker Test Cases for the entirety of the round can get discouraging at times, and non-Case 3 Asuka players should be prepared for that...
Last, it's been several weeks since I've shared this information with the Asuka community, but I still cannot believe that this fight depicts a mid tier character (Asuka) and a top 5 character (May)...
Sorry for the long post, but if you've managed to read the entire post, I appreciate you...
Thank you for your breakdown sir!
I swear Gobou is the biggest Asuka glazer alive. “Mid tier” my ass
we love you asuka guy
Gobou certainly makes this match-up not look that bad, but I believe you if some of the other matches he had with Yuu here was likely the other way around than the replays shown here.
@@popeneiad7968Play Asuka and become stronger than Gobou - only then will your opinion on Asuka's tier placement hold any weight...
Equally important, I heard that Zando believes Asuka is not mid tier, but a bad character overall - so even weaker than what Gobou had stated.
0:59 this mixup was crazy..
3:50 nice way of escaping there.
may with that cursed ass dustloop in game 1
You say cursed, I say blessed

6:18 remember one is never enough
6:11 may playing catch
Does ゆう have tournament showings/a Liquipedia entry? I can only find what seem to be different people based on the name. I've been watching them on this channel for a long time and only now realized I have no idea if they've won anything, despite ostensibly being good enough to win even national-level tournaments.
According to Daru_I-No, Yuu is generally too busy to catch the sign up time frames for most major tournaments - and that is why they do not have any strong tournament results under their belt...
Imagine being May at 3:55 and thinking you’re going to play the game
we get it... buff johnny
