Religion is not an off the cuff remark. It has practical affects namely purity and working for our fellow man(widows included). Practicing religion is defiantly a honorable endeavor. They sung it beautifully but still Guy Penrod sung it better and the best! and soulfully and you can really fell the song with his voice range and you can felt that he was really praising God not just performing the song.

If you want to hear a far better version of this song, check out Charlotte Ritchie doing it live on YT. It puts this performance to shame. I think I’ve watched every video of this song, and Charlotte absolutely nails it. If you’re not moved when you hear her sing it, you need to check your pulse to make sure you’re still alive.
Just listened to that chick’s version. Not even close to as good as this one. It’s like she was trying to do a country crossover deal. Interesting but the original will always be the best.
