one of my friend drop out of college, and now he the president of the an advertising company, he drops out because he thinks studying architecture will lead him no where. and it seems he got the right decision. :) and the rest of my other friends who graduate college are still struggling to get money.. LOL.
What about you buddy 😂
For specific professions (doctors, lawyers, etc) you obviously have to go to a school that will provide you with the education that will allow you to be a certified professional in those fields. But business isn't necessarily like that because there are a lot of success stories of people who no post secondary education who are successful in business. That being said, a lot of these people were my clients and it took them years to be successful because their success came from trial and error. Alternatively, having a business education can shave off years of failure because you have a base set of knowledge (plus a network of people who can help you...ie. your friends from school). I'm personally a proponent of having a side hustle while still in school because then you're getting the best of both worlds. Plus you can market your product/services to a dedicated audience (students!)
Lemme break it down for you guys.. settle for a 9-5 job is more like giving up for what you've already got. But a business on the other hand is of hope. There'll be ups and downs but you never know what's on the other side. It's not always about making more money, but being free, being your own boss, it takes lotta balls I must say.
Go to college only if you are going to enjoy the path through it. Most people go to college just because "everyone else" do, or it's told they're going to pay you higher. At the end they become frustrated. Education is important and necessary, but you can educate yourself too, I think it's more genuine
Business gives you freedom and more opportunity, while 9-5 jobs will give you a comfortable life , you have to decide what you want to do. Just follow your passion.Simple.
PASSION IS NOT GOING TO HELP YOU HAVING FOOD IN THE TABLE AND ROOF UNDER YOUR HEAD. GET A SECURE CAREER THEN FOLLOW YOUR PASSION BECAUSE PASSIION IS COST MONEY AS WELL.
@@xyrkiejohn26 If your passion is in high demand and makes you money, then you CAN follow it. Other than that, do whatever it takes to succeed and follow your passion later.
@@wturner777 This man gets it
If the business clicks then . U will be sitting on top of them cash piles ya know that
Graduated from college with an degree in business administration, then re launched my existing brand. And started one more 🤷🏽♀️
ONE OF THE BEST VIDEO I HAVE SEEN ON YOUR CHANNEL.. I WAS CONTINUOUSLY SUFFERING FROM THIS QUESTION AND NOW I GOT MY ANSWER.. THANKS ALUX FOR ALWAYS HELPING ME
considering 40% of high schools are drop out factories, it starts to become a huge waste of time. I was getting detention every single day because we had to go through "airport" security every morning, they never checked our homework. I missed 80% of 9th grade but my teachers didn't know me and passed me anyway, that's when I left.
Are you successful
that's relative, my life isn't luxurious but I would be considered spoiled by many. I work 20 hours a week, Im currently making $1,100 after my expenses for food and spending and I can spend hours per day studying, reading and watching any subject I desire. I told my boss I don't want anymore hours for 8 more months lol
WHATS YOUR POINT?
Well, if you still have to ask this question you should probably go to college because it means you don't have a solid business plan yet and you aren't convinced with your idea.
@@hanakosakaki You can still get a job without college tho, especially if your ultimate goal is starting a business. Even if you don't want to start a business, university is probably not rly worth it unless you've decided on a career path
I want to go to college for business management so I have knowledge to to start a business I live in the UK so college is free
Emoji Dog I recommend if you have knowledge that's great but you might wanna get a network or chain of people and college or University might be a best option because you can get freshers who have talent or skills required to the business and some of them might be like you who already know how to start a business. So that's my opinion on that but choice is still on you. And remember a college student is fascinated for many things so u can hire them for less cost rather than hiring professionals who charge more.
HERE IN THE USA COLLEGE IS NOT FREE EVEN GOING TO COMMUNITY COLLEGE IS VERY PRICEY AND AFTER COLLEGE IS NOT GUARANTEED YOU GOT YOUR CAREER RUNNING, I GRADUATE WITH BUSINESS DEGREE, I DID BUSINESS ANALYS, MARKETING, ENTREPRENEURSHIP BUT ITS NOT FOR ME SO NW I WORK IN HEALTHCARE, I AM ABLE STILL USE MY BUSINESS ETHICS AND DECISIONS . I WORK FOR NON-PROFIT BUT AT LEAST ITS A SECURED CAREER.
Why not both? Go to a business school and take entrepreneurship, school will even fund your business
How can u plz plz answer me I will never forget u if u answer
@@rethinkworld2300 this is late but a lot of business school have different entrepreneurship competitions where individuals or teams make a product. Winner receives substantial amount of money from school.
@@blahblah7585 but I think the video argues that you could just do that without taking a degree in business.
@@armaansaini8548 you could skip it if you have strong power and believe that you'll be able to raise sufficient capital. For most people school is just the easy way out
Go to college, but go to a trade school or learn a specific skill that can land you a job right away. Avoid general majors like communications and anything that ends with 'studies' lol
College was an absolute necessity for me. I came from so far down, raised with such toxic indoctrination, that I needed those years to unlearn the thinking - or at least start to - and gain problem/issue solving skills. Liberal arts degree the first time around, sure. Fed a bill of goods, "Get a degree, any degree, and you'll get a great job." Hit the real world and found it wasn't like that. Got bitter and set the goal of making a movie with a favorite pet topic of mine. No movie made yet, but in the process of pursueing that, I realized I needed real vocational skills, so went back to school and studied engineering. Learned typing and clerical skills, took business classes and studied business structure... The more the project has moved along, the more it's been my salvation, because through it I've pursued self-development and making myself more employable in many forms. The thinking I was raised to? Not only is it a flat-out lie, though common (especially if you think the world stopped changing back in the early 1940's, like my Dad quit changing his thinking about then,) but that thinking is down-right a recipe for failure - at life, and even as a human being. No, I haven't accomplished the movie yet, but that goal has already rescued me from being down in the absolute dregs of society. What's another way it rescued me? If I hadn't been so driven and ambitious, learning all sorts of entrpreneurial attitudes, thinking, and skills, my first husband would have crushed me. After we got married, he thought I would change and make my life revolve around him, not my goals. No details, but it really got nasty then impossible. If it weren't for that project of making a movie, which is, for me more like, "Let's see how far I can get..." then it would have taken me a lot longer to realize that he was no safe harbor, but a millstone around my neck instead. Needed college to even start thinking differently, without people telling me, "You can't." But ambitiion has driven me to at least improve my life.
Exhausted network engineer! looking to start something on my own, Anyone with any inputs/advice who has been in this situation?
Vignesh Daulath you can try network marketing business. It's the most fastest and reliable. Sure and shot success.
Happy life
bark over yep. Have tried it as well! Based on past experience what i leaent is if the company has a product combined with network marketing..it'll survive for max to max 5-6 years, if its service based company then its a scam.
Got a qn, does network engineer means you know how to design or create an algorithm?
Design & Implementation.
Vignesh Daulath bruvs, you got an email or something ? I would wanna ask some questions about algorithm :)
My dream is becoming Dictator , do I need college?
Lmao, the new Stalin!
No, join Indian politics.
No, what you need is to keep dreaming!
Off course, you will have a better recognition to rule if you are a professor. You are already a part of the system
kkkkkkhahahahahaha, you nailed it.
This couldn't have come at a better time 😅 I've been working on a business plan for a little over a year now, and have recently graduated highschool (I was a mid term grad, so basically two days ago) yesterday a local small career pathway collage called and said they messed up the papers and that I hadn't actually been accepted (they had said I was about a month ago) so all day I've been debating weather or not to try and go to another local collage next year
So, are you doing your business now!??
what busniess are u currently running right now?
Hi luna
I'm in the exact position that you were in
I just told my mom and she freaked out
I'm not sure if I'm making the right decision
How did it go for you?
Totally agree; if what you want to do in life does not require a degree why get one? ESPECIALLY with the amount it costs. I have a Masters in Counseling, I’ve always wanted to be a counselor and I could not work & earn $ in this field without a degree.
I regret not attending college earlier, instead of taking a low wage job. I am going to enroll in college so I can get the loan money and invest in my business. The worst that can happen is I fail.
I am still in high school thinking of starting a company but too much on my head this video really helped clear some of my doubts thanks alux 👍
Do it if you're willing to put in the work and can take the massive amount of psychological pressure.
Don't do it if you think starting a company is easy.
It is easier and less stressful to just get go to school get a job.
I have an e-commerce start up company called MIERS. Inc running almost 2years now and also a high performance student in college.
At first you will like it's the most fun thing to do when you make profit but along the way challenges and competition will slap you hard. And you will have psychological anxieties that's for sure.
But once you get past that down stage you're on your way to becoming a millionaire ♥️. There's no secret formula just keep going and invest time and effort in your business. Even sometimes when you don't make money that's ok you're investing in business skills.
Go for it at the same don't drop yet experience it first to see if you have the guts to be an entrepreneur. Goodluck.
What now buddy
I just finished high school and I'm in this dilemma, thanks alux
So know what?
No college. I tried business, but i have toooo many haters. I was drawing and designing my own pillows. So on to something else.
you get hate no matter what you do don't let them stop you
Suuuree to many haters.
Oh that sounds cool.
You don't get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies
Dont give up
The only thing that matters is what works in the real world. Imho, you can stand out of the clutter and still be better off than college students if you keep updating yourself with the right skillset and knowledge required for business. Good books, esp autobiographies are the best way to learn from strongest and the most successful entrepreneurs.
So, read everyday and try to be a better person.
As far as the recommendation goes, go for Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.
What should i do if my parents want me to go to medical school and become doctor but i am not passionate about it, i like to create new things and i get a lot of idea to work on, should i start a startup, what if i fail everytime?? Being a doctor is a little less risky, but my passion is a little on the side of startups and creating new things?? What should i do?
Programming, get a job then create shit on the side
I think it highly depends on the niche you intend to start a business. In my case, I'd rather go to college to build a knowledge foundation and a good networking.
Thanks to you guys I am staying motivated and learning. I appreciate and love the value you guys provide. Thank you!
So glad this video was made. It's so true when it comes to business students. I'm from California and went to The Arts Institute in Santa Monica, it was awesome goinh to an art school and learning the ins and outs of the fashion industry. I was studying Fashion marketing and management for 2 years. It was affordable since I helped my dad help me lol with tuition and car payments. I realized once you know the market YOU YOURSELF CAN GO GET IT and start something of your own. I only have 5k debt, it really sucks but it could be WORSE. I have something brewing and starting my own business KMROME. I've been studying the market for 3.5 years.
It's 6 year now what happend

Me to.
In South Africa, there are many institutions that offer to pay for your higher education as well as companies offering bursaries. There is also NSFAS, a government organisation that pays for your education for free, if your parents can't afford it.
I'm glad I saw this I started my own business and now those college grads are wage cuckin it working for me

WELL MY DEGREE AS BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION FOR PROJECT MANAGEMENT MAKE ME IN DEBT I THINK I PICK WRONG DEGREE.
Would a psychology A.S. & B.S. DEGREE be worth the time+effort is the real Q for me...because I have a HISTORY AA atm
personally I always thought psychology would be helpful in business if you could use it to better understand your competition. it could help with marketing strategies and company morale.
I need some advice guys, I’m currently majoring in Architecture and it’s about a 6 year career +2 more years cause I need to intern with an architect and then an extra year to get licensed etc etc.. that’s roughly 10 years for an average of 80k salary a year... and architects take time to grow... a long time before they start making massive profits and I calculate that I’ll be 50-60 by the time that happens... however if I start a business now, I’ll probably be in a higher position, money wise, then architecture... I might be wealthy in 10 years if I start a business... my dad started a trucking business and we just started to profit massively... we made about 200k last year... he use to work at another place where he made 40k... so... Stay in college.... or Start a business?? Please help and please give me advice, I’m young and I have potential... I don’t want to regret anything
I'm still struggling in High School any advice?
Well not sure
EVERYDAY. STAY INSIDE, I CANT GO TO CLUBS' SOCIALIZE, ONLY TO CHURCH. STILL, I AM SOMEBODY. I AM NOT DEAD.. LIVING LONG.. I WILL KEEP STRIVING, PAST JEALOUSY, AND HATE.. WHICH IS A CRIME BOTH WAYS'..
Go to college kids! At least get an undergraduate and a job to fall back on.
You could always grow your business on the side, even sell the startup if you strike gold.

What if I want to be a model? Or actor? Should I still do college?
Boa Hancock probably not. Get a job, and pick up any modeling jobs on the side.
Make your portfolio and ask or meet any magazine or any advertising editor show your portfolio if they are interested it would be good for you 😄
Daniel Let me tell you my story, pls advice me. Here in my country education is valued a lot and a big deal. In fact, I graduated valedictorian in highschool so people kinda expects me to be in any science or law field. Education here is like a treasured lifetime achievement even just finishing a college degree and honestly I also want to finish even just a business course but the thing is at this point of my life I want to pursue my passion to be a model and rock the runway and be a cover on fashion magazines. Yeah sounds ambitious but this is what I really want to do but then I also want to give honor to myself by at least finishing college and give pride and honor to my parents. Im really confused on what should I do because if I have to finish college which is 4 yrs then my career for modelling might be too late already. Im currently 19 yrs old and its hard to decide really😩 Please if you have any pieces of advice I will really appreciate it, thank you very much!
Aamir jhabuawala hello sir, thank you for the advice. I just made a new comment. I really need help. Your words would mean a lot for me thank you!

I like your videos. They are very motivational and educational. I'm always looking around for new videos on motivation and yours always deliver. Very nicely done. I have to say that no school taught me anything that I know. I had to teach myself everything that I know today. It took a lot of determination and self discipline to get things done. Both are Equally Important. 👍
College Is ONLY important for STEM fields. Outside of that they are completely useless.
Business will teach you the basics of business and economics but it won’t teach you success and financial freedom
