This is so cool to see. I had this exact card fail to read on me and gave it to a shop to recover data. I didn't really understand what he said he was going to do to try to recover data and found this video. Hoping they are also able to recover 100%. The data was VERY important to me on that card. I'll be using a proper case for card storage going forward.

This guy can do everything. I was brought to some videos of his by RUclips and I'm glad I watched them. I'm actually addicted. I'm in IT so I can relate to it -- it's nice to see what these guys do when we have a client tell us they really need the data recovered from a hard drive.
You can fit so much in these microSD cards and they're so tiny, yet this guy is able to recover data from it.
I see a ton of other people like myself commenting with the same thing. Somehow this channel got promoted/blasted a ton and it deserves some attention from other IT enthusiasts out there.
    Keep up the amazing work.

When I was camping in Australia, I had my 64 GB SDXC card in its plastic cover in my wallet.
But it I am pretty sure I was laying on my wallet during my sleep in the tent. Totally stupid.
On the next day, it could not be read in camera.
I already sent it to recoverfab, Mr. Hiersche, Dresden, Germany.
I think, they checked the card under the 'microscope'. Their findings were, that it could not be fixed anymore.
I think it's because of NAND damage? I only had to pay the shipping costs.
Now, I wonder if I could give it a second try...
    Great video. Thanks!

Does this mean that if I have some card I can risk -- would reflowing be a quick way to quickly fix the solder balls to get data off the card? Card may have a simple BGA fault.
I did a reflow with an oven on an LG G3 back then just to get data off it I suppose I would need less time on a simple SD card. What would be your best guess temperature and time to try out?
I have a card here that have some photos that weren't copied. Photographer friend already lived to terms with it a year ago and reshot the photos, getting the old ones would simply be a bonus as there are some good candid shots he said.
    Thanks a lot!

SanDisk is much more durable, but it is monolithic. All cards (that are not monolithic) are flexible. Lexar is the brand that positioned it's controller in a very easy to bend spot making it less reliable. Lexar and SanDisk recover very well. I would recommend cards that can be recovered well as oppose to any other features because when sh*t hits the fan people need the solution to be effective.

Out of curiosity - would it be more efficient to create a jig that you could re-use with controller etc and pogo pins so that you could just place the chips in and save having to reball and use a 2nd donor card and resolder? or is this not feasable due to a non-standard pinout of the memory/controllers meaning that 1 jig would only work with 1 make/model of card?
