@@pripyat23 I called it a "d-beat" until I watched a bunch of videos on d-beats. Turns out a d-beat is a lot weirder. My old band mate called it a "skate beat" but I think I like "fast beat" better.
It's also a NOFX, green Day to a degree, blink 182, avenged sevenfold, yellowcard, rise against, bad religion, alkaline trio, rancid, the vandals, and every other early punk band beat
One of my favorite things to do during punk drumming is double tap both the snare and ride 😊

Hanneman was a big punk fan and drew inspiration from it.
All of extreme metal drum beats came from hardcore punk. Core was in metal from the beginning
