i love the sonic forces synths so hearing this felt like an eel slapped right in my face. not that its bad, you did very well with your work! its just a such a jumpscare when its a part of the song i enjoyed a lot lol

This formula reminds me of what nihom falcom sound team jdk does on the ys games, which adds violines to give songs more personality. I love it.

Good lord it was the lead synth that was the main problem, I always knew it was a major issue, but to this extent? A simple change in one instrument makes the song much better, with a bit of polish you could probably convince someone that the main version was a prototype, and the violin version was the finished product. Also that Forces Reimagined footage in the background was hilarious, the main game’s level was too short for the level’s song, pfft.
Now that I’ve got a taste of the Sonic Forces ost without the overbearing synth im never gonna be able to go back 😔

My guess is that the synth was used to represent Eggman's control, like Eggmanland in Unleashed. A neat idea on paper, but in execution... :/

As FL User hearing FL Strings is quite a surprise. Tbh, to make it sound slightly natural, you could use strings from FLEX or FL Instruments, they can give some insane sound.
