  • We stumbled upon ZPN Energy earlier in the year when out filming content for the channel, where we met Mark Sanders-Barwick. His interview was really insightful, so when an opportunity came to meet-up again this month we decided to head down to Coventry to find out what was really going on.

Hi Dave. Nice to see a main stream RUclips looking into less able persons issues around mobility and naming the companies raising to the challenge and hopefully name the others.
Offgrid charging 👍👍 if you only have to pay for the investment and the supply is free then true flexible charging rates could be here based on wind speed and sun shine per 1/2 hrs. But hang on we live in the UK 🤔

Glad to be a patreon member and love that new business is now being seen in this industry. I could always see this is where the business will be growing and could never see how the Government never helped this sector. This will be huge andwill change how the grid works in the future. Smaller areas that don't have the infrastructure will use battery storage to help, allowing larger wind or solar farms without the restrictions of the infrastructure. They can be then fed to the grid at the rate the wire will allow.
    Great one Dave.

If a typical food giant store covered their acres of roof with PV and fed their own battery banks, they could charge a lot of shoppers cars at a low price.
    Every little helps.

Those ev chargers will need some kind of grid connection eventually, even if its just for winter time supply, or to sell extra generated power that dosn't get used, if you have enough panels for winter, then it will be mostly wasted for summer, so long term they should be connected.
If they had variable prices depending on supply from panels etc, then perhaps they could control demand and not be grid connected?

Love the idea of independent EV charge stations but they will never be free. Wind Turbines in particular will require maintenance.

Why does anyone run out of fuel? Well I did south of Birmingham in the early 90s in my company ice car on the M6. The zapme is a great idea, hopefully I'll never run out again.

    Hello mate

Would be fun to do the math. With a piece of land, (€1 million) 1 large battery system: (€1 million), 1 Windmill (€1.2 million per/MW) and a solar farm (€1 million?) + 15 chargers (€1 million) installed .
Without running costs, (maintenance) and interest, that would be at the minimum of €5.2 million to start with.
But that's just a very rough estimate. I am not in that business, so it could be several times that number.
We add €0.6 million per year for interest and to keep everything running all year round?
Lets assume each charger can make €200 a day x 15 chargers is €3000 a day.
Per year that would be €1.095.000 . . . . when every charger is used without downtime 365 days a year. Minus that €0.6 million per year, is €495.000 per year profit.
Would take you 10 years to play even and make serious €
But this is just a fun math without any hard data.
