This is way sweeter than it was when the first models came out a few years back..very nice :)
Gonna be a very nice gun when they finally get production going. A very unique gun indeed! Since it is so unique it is good that Bond Arms is the Mfg since they do a good job of QC. Thanks for the review Dan.
thanks for being the 1st in 2017 to post a vid on this as I am excited to get my hands on one
Thanks Kevin. Im excited about it too
Another great vid, thanks for posting it.
Thanks bud
Have appreciated your updates from SHOT Show. Thanks for effectively representing those of us who couldn't be there!
I really appreciate that Craig
Holy Batman...that's one awesome stash!!!
Sweet great interview Dan!
Wow that is a cool design.
Thanks Joey
Neat design. Thanks Dan
just found my new summer carry can't wait
I cant wait for it either
been wanting one this for few year. not sure if ill ever be able get one in mass hole chusetts. like the little changes bond done to it.
Thanks for checking it out Shaun
I remember Boberg having reliability issues, I hope for $1100 the kinks have been worked out. Nice look at it Dan
Yes we talked about that and Bond is confident the Bullpup will be reliable
Only works with some ammo. That Boberg was known for pulling bullets apart while feeding.
wv9mm never did get what the Boberg or whatever it goes by these days did that conventional compact 9mms didn't do cheaper and more efficiently
In another video the guy said he's tested the Bond Arms Bullpups with many different types of ammo and the only ones that had separation problems were blazer brass and federal champion.
It's interesting for sure. Nice conversation piece.
I cant wait to get this beauty in my hands to show you what it has to offer
Second year at Shot with this and they still aren't releasing it until June? Wow. I hope they ironed out the problems.
Very cool gun. Like the G-10 grips.
Thanks pinkie. I cant wait to get this
$1100.00 I'm out
wiseguy436 Right with ya😂
wiseguy436 yep..I just spit out my water!
I'm out as well....
Yeah, I like it but that's damn steep for a pocket gun.
wiseguy436 hey wait for me dude lol
Awesome!!
Looks super nice thanks for showing us this. At this price point especially for a concealable 9 I don't see myself getting one. Too many other quality options for far less money are available
I will know more when its in my hands at the range. Im excited about it
Did they fix the problem where the Boberg would literally tear cartridges apart? Are they also going to produce the 4" barreled version?
They said they fixed all the problems. Im not sure about the 4" barrel
very beautiful pistol and very easy to carry
I agree Surbhit
Sweet!
Thanks man
I was interested in the Boberg when it first came out (like unique designs/approaches) but not after a goodly # of reviews/reports of difficulties. I noticed Charter commented they made some design changes so hopefully the original problems have been ironed out -- but I'd sure want to see solid, long-term 1000+ round reviews before even considering this (especially at that price point).
Bond withheld its release until they are positive the gun is ready to go. Im super excited about it
With that mustache he looks like he's part of the Clanton gang lol
I'm 100% buying the .45 version that I missed when Boberg made them. But I understand that the 9mm is going to be way more popular. I'm very glad they aren't doing significant changes like what Remington has done to Rorhbaugh. Although the changes were much to the better in that case, the production was delayed by years as a result.
Good stuff Pete
Man i was hooked, but the price is going to be way out of my range. Thanks for the video.
The price will drop to the mid 900s IMO
they're crazy with that price good luck
Boberg sold their model for $1300. Bond, who made major improvements, has an MSRP of $1100. I think the price will drop over time
perfect for my jogging gun , i usually carry a g26
Neat!
Wow! Interesting
Thanks buddy
springfield has a new bobtail EMP
I see failure issues with that double arm feeding mechanism. Wait to see how reliable they are before I pounce and by then they will be 800ish
I agree with you on the price dropping
I enjoy your channel. You get right to the point without 30 seconds of self-glory and music like others do. IRT this redesigned gun, do you know the trigger pull weight? Or do you recall if it was at least reasonable? Semper Fi.
Sry George Im sure of the trigger weight but I remember it was a very smooth trigger. If I can get ahold of this BA Bullpup I will measure the trigger poundage
Thank you, Sir!
So, when is the .40 S&W version coming out?
Im not sure their are plans for it. Maybe so though
I'd definitely be interested. I've yet to find a better CC pistol to replace my Kahr CW40. It is very basic, DAO, light and extremely compact. My CW40 replaced my Kimber Ultra CDPII as my CC. I would like to replace it with something a little fancier one day, but it has been hard to replace it.
Sweet, sweet. Trouble is the intended purpose puts it at risk for being taken for evidence. That's the sort of thing most won't risk more than several hundred on. The price tag makes it a range toy and collectors' item. Here's hoping it succeeds long enough to have more appropriately priced versions we can actually use for concealed carry.
They are claiming the Bullpup will shoot incredibly smooth with amazing accuracy. I cant wait to check it out
super nice. pricey. Wouldn't mind having one. but I couldn't ccw a 1000 dollar gun be to scared I'd scratch it lol. my kahr 380 and my ruger lcr get most the carrying time
It really is a sweet pistol
Looks like they reinvented the handgun with this unique new firing mechanism. I wish them well with this new design. The pricing is steep for me...
Considering most other Bond guns are relatively inexpensive I'm surprised they went for a price point over $1000. I hope it sells , it's a neat little gun. I certainly can't afford one though.
This gun requires significantly more manufacturing than a derringer does.
The price will drop over time. The price mentioned was MSRP
@Sunshine Shooter sure, and it's definitely an innovative new design, but if Honda sunddenly started making a supercar and charging ten times the price of a civic wouldn't you be a little wary? That's how I feel about these guns.
@The FireArm Guy That's good, I could imagine these selling at like $700. I hope they continue to work with the bullpup type of magazine, I think the accuracy potential in handguns could really go up from stuff like this.
"Considering most other Bond guns are relatively inexpensive" Are they? They sell little derringers for $400-$600+. They make nice quality firearms and that's reflected in the price.
What a great, modern approach to designing a handgun. I bet that would be a great gun to have. I think of this as being more worth the admittedly still high price than the Hudson pistol, which though it has some nice features, isn't as innovative.
I would choose this over the Hudson
Agreed definitely. Alas, I don't want to spend the buc-buc-bux on this, but maybe someday.
I really want that. Looks better than the boberg imo. Was really hoping he said 800 so there is some slight possibility I could get it...for 1100 I'll be getting the hudson. Not that I could comfortably afford either right now. Just recently bought an m2.0 and couldn't be happier...I'm an m&p kinda guy tho.
It does look a lot nicer than the Boberg.
In another video they said the MSRP would most likely go down when large scale production took off.
It's a cool design and not "over priced" as some people keep asserting. A lot of unique engineering in a small package is going to cost more than a striker fire pistol. It seems they have improved on Boberg's design.
I agree Aba. Many guys want a great gun but dont want to pay for quality
Nice looking gun, but no way at that price point.
Boberg sold their gun for $1300. I think this will eventually sell for mid $900s
The whole "your life is worth more than x amount of dollars" is a weak argument. There are guns as good or better than this Boberg rip off for $400-$600. It is not about spending the absolute most on a hand gun to defend my life with, I want the most reliable, accurate, concealable 9mm hand gun on the market.
Will i am oh yah, Bond bought the design and all the dies and machinery from Arne Boberg so I wouldn't call it a "Boberg rip off".
But it is the ultimate marketing farse. Such as the word organic, lovely word used in marketing and sales.
The bond bullpup is interesting but others have the right idea. Would you buy a $100 drill or a really nice $1000 drill if they both made the same sized hole?
Cool looking gun but too expensive and I am not sure about reliability. I do like seeing new designs. For now I will stick with my Kahr CM9 pull the trigger and bang. Maybe after it has been out for awhile and all the bugs are worked out then I might consider it.
I hope to show you one once they are released
Nice gun !! Luv to have one but not at that price .
Price has dropped a bit since first introduced
interesting..... $1,000+ too much for me
Some nice engineering going on there but they need to work on the overall price as even street price is going to be $1k...Good stuff...
Reminds me of the H&K P7. Brilliant design, but required a lot of hand fitting and extra precise machining and lots of small parts. The P7 was very reliable though, and this design has already had problems.
Still, Bond Arms makes niche derringers, so it might be a good fit.
When you are going to review this?
I've been trying to get a hold of one from the company for review. The list is very long people waiting for the BA Bullpup. I think once they get caught up, I will be able to review one. Getting them at the local store is impossible
lol this guy's mustache
yeah it might be a lot of money, but its a pretty cool design.i'd like to shoot one
$1,100.00 for that?!?!?!
Well, Bond Arms makes nice quality firearms and that's reflected in their prices. I mean, their little derringers go for $400-$600+.
Sccy, 9mm, lifetime warranty, never had any issues with mine, $200. For $800 difference they can keep that. Do they have a marketing manager? Cause they need one, you know, to gauge the market.
Boberg sold their model for $1300. Bond, who made major improvements, has an MSRP of $1100. I think the price will drop over time
CybermomusKing, Bond Arms makes very nice quality firearms. Their little derringers sell for around $500-$600+. The $800 difference is more than justified by the difference in quality as well as the complex and non-conventional way the gun operates.
Whole new design, now thats interesting,,,
Same design as the Boberg.
I dont remember the boberg doing that, his dam mustache confused me,,,
THEZOMBIEBUNKER Yup the XR9S. Two of 'em on GunBroker right now.
He literally said in the first few seconds of the video "This is an improved Boberg design..."
Sunshine_Shooter I know, but of course they'd say that. As far as I know they only altered the coatings and grip. Nothing extremely radical. I'm hoping for the best, as the original design did have issues with some ammo, and it could jam if you didn't fully rack the slide. That's a serious issue.
My PPS is literally impossible to force-jam. It just works.
Awesome, sign me up!
Wow super cool imo but super expensive!
+Brass Max The price will go down over time
It is a beautiful gun. IF it is truly reliable and will cycle all types of rounds, I may want one. Due to the complexity of it's operation, I can kind of understand that price... but ouch!
I think the price will drop over time
TheFireArmGuy Yeah. People got to remember, I'm sure a gun with that type of action must be quite a bit more complicated and expensive to produce... *Not to mention the R&D time they must have into that...
Atimatik Army, Plus Bond Arms makes nice quality firearms and that's reflected in their prices. I mean, their little derringers go for $400-$600+.
45 version?
Boberg made one, I'm not sure if Bond will.
I like but not paying the bolberg prices actually. cost more. loves the bolberg I shot before
Boberg sold this gun for $1300
when..?
Its out now. People are buying them quick
I want one now. I hate the wait.just heard the price. I'll stick with the sig p938 which is a much better shooter than the boeberg and lots of options on a very small gun for just over half the price of this.
Bond Arms will make this much better than the Boberg gun IMO
That's purty
First time I ever saw a rear loading magazine, but $1100.00 is a little steep for me. Interesting design I must admit.
let me guess it's not available in California
Do you have any pistols for sale
Not at the moment
TheFireArmGuy thank u for replying
Wow $1100, I love the innovation just not the price. Make it ~$400 and I'm .40 and I'm in.
Well, Bond Arms makes nice quality firearms and that's reflected in their prices. I mean, their little derringers go for $400-$600+.
Cheeze, all the squacking about the price, but they have no problem with a two-grand hand fitted 1911, or nine hundred for a cheaper Sig! This is a brilliantly designed HAND MADE pistol full of hardened and polished parts, many of which have more than two functions!. It accurately delivers Plus-P ammo at 100 feet-per-second faster than anything its size. The tong mechanism literally PULLS the cartridges out of the magazine, LIFTS them up, to INSERT them straight into the chamber---no feedramp issues because no feedramp! Also no magazine spring problems, and the recoil spring can be very light too. Sure, like any semiauto pistol, if you don't lube it properly and use cheap, weak and badly crimped ammo it could jam. The Boberg had a cult following of happy customers and a six month waiting list to buy more, and there are lots of RUclips vids to document that. This is a fair price for "jewelry that shoots." And there are many folks who CAN afford one---I just wish I could! But I don't blame the gunmakers for that.................................elsullo
Great point made brother
At $1100, they'll make it to serial number 3, assuming the give number 2 away as a prize. Cool idea, but about obtainable as tourist in space at this time.
The price will drop over time. That was the MSRP price
Larry Elliot, Bond Arms makes nice quality firearms and that's reflected in their prices. I mean, their little derringers go for $400-$600+. Also, in
another video they said the price should drop once production is in full swing.
Neat little gun, but I'd hate to need a fast magazine change adrenalized full-throttle. Take a lots of practice to make that second nature.
It's no different than any other single stack pistol.
I dont think that will be an issue
If that mustache could talk...
Too funny
$1100 wow completely crazy, where does that outrageous come from?
Thats just the MSRP. Price will drop over time
The Boberg was $1300. Non-conventional designs are expensive and Bond Arms makes nice quality firearms and that's reflected in their prices. I mean, their little derringers go for $400-$600+. Also, in another video they said the price should drop once production is in full swing.
500 to 600 maybe, but 1100 bucks? No way. It'll sell about as well as the boberg.
Boberg sold their gun for $1300. I think this will eventually sell for mid $900s
Yeah, I remember that, I didn't want one of them for that either. It looks like a nice conceal carry piece, but just too much for me, even at 900 bucks.
FireArm Guy: I pre-ordered the Bullpup for $997 on 02-06-2017 I already have a Boberg XR9-LBond arms is also selling the Original XR9-S with a coated barrel and unlock block. It will also have the BondArms name stamped on the frame along with the Boberg name for the original price of $1300.People are buying them as a collector item.Norm
$977 sorry for the typo + $33 shipping
500 to 600 is what Bond Arms sells derringers for...
1100.00 holy batman. No way
I will let you shoot mine and maybe you will want one
LOL
Will you let me shoot it? kek.
run about 8,000 rounds through it then do a review to test the validity of $1,100.00 of CNC Milling.
You'll need a new barrel in any gun if you fire 8,000 rounds through it. Aggregate testing (multiple guns with over 1000 rounds each) is well over 8,000 rounds with no misfires though.
$1,100.00 is too steep.
Thats MSRP. I think it will sell for the mid 900s
Interesting concept but the price will limit its acceptance.
Price will drop over time
Why?
2 months ago they were shooting for 900.00. Look like they missed.
Or home rifles
High MSRP plus lots of moving parts, I'd look but not buy. If it was chambered in .45ACP that might be interesting.
I will be getting this one as well
Sounded cool till the MSRP oops!!!!!!
Still $977 the last I looked! 😳
I think over time it will drop like most new guns to the market
You guys said the same thing last year.
They have been working on making this incredibly reliable
$1100 when I can get a 357magnum pocket gun?? AAHAHAHA.
Yep...I am OUT too! 💰 Way tooooo much!
That was MSRP price. It will be lower
I just don't know what Bond Arms was thinking when they were coming out with this pistol. There are already lots of compact 9mm on the market. Most of them are of good quality and over half the price. This seems to be a very over priced compact 9mm that will not sell very well.
Many people love it and the price has dropped since this video
I want this so bad, it hurts. Anyone want to buy a house in California? I'll let it go cheap if you give me all the guns you have that can't come with you!
Lol
Haha I want it too
Haha I want it too
I like it!!! $1100.00 no way in hell.
The steep price doesn't concern me. I'm not buying because it's hammer fired. Striker fired equals Day 1 buy.
I thought the original owner, Boerberg, was insane with his price. A grand?!?! yikes
Boberg was selling their gun for $1300. Bond improved its reliability
$1100! I will rather spend that kind of $ on a nice 1911 or may get two Glocks of different calibers.
That is the msrp price. The store price will be much lower
looks a bit rube goldberg-ish, can get 4 kel-tec PF-9's for one of those, if you got a grand burning a hole in your pocket, why not?
I definitely want one
Mustache
Not a great design. With the way it feeds you can have case and projectile seperation. InRange tv demonstrated this.
Bond has been working to solve that issue. This will be more reliable than the Boberg
Good to hear. Hopefully they hear everyones cry for a lower price as well.
Innovation cost it seems.
looks like a cute and awkward gun. I cant tell if I like it or it scares me.
Interesting but pricey.
Boberg sold their gun for $1300. I think this will eventually sell for mid $900s
reliability?? tons of parts....screw that!
Its a Bond Arms. The reliability will be there
Meh, I'll wait a few years to see what the price drops to.
I think the price will drop over time
??maybe ....$550 max.......
The Boberg models were even more. Bond made the gun way better
$1100 for a novelty?
I think its a first class pistol. Cant wait to show it off at the range
TheFireArmGuy I'm jealous. I would have bought a Hudson instead.
Wow! $1100.... I don't think I'm going to get one for my burgeoning collection of weird interesting guns. Cut the price by $800 and you have a sale.
Price has dropped since this
@@TheFirearmGuy I'm sure it has, but anything over $600 is out of my budget for a handgun. $800+ price range in my mind is rifle and shotgun territory. If only my job paid, more but who doesn't wish that? Lol.
You just lost a customer because of that mustache.....
Jk! Nice firearm but expensive
Too funny Rambo
