I'm guessing the magneto gives a pulse every revolution but the igniter trips once every 2nd revolution.

Hi Sam, I need some help regarding my igniter timing. My igniter trips slightly retarded yet if I turn the rod one turn one way or the other its way advanced or way retarded. I need to turn the rod only slightly but then the flats are way out. How do I just give it a little bit. Regards from Australia.

you can add or remove shims on the ignitor body to set trip arm latch off timing
