We had little expectation on rhythm bench, it was the least bias group, and that's why we were all surprised how good and impactful the performance was! Their performance made the fans look for them for the 2nd time, and now, I see bench team new biases popping here and there. It was really that good! and when you are following the show closely, the impact will hit harder, because almost everyone thought no one could touch that Groove starting line up, but this bench team really scared them, even their director said "they might steal our song". that's why so many people are so mad about the score gap, because everyone thought it was a close fight. but that score gap was a crime
I'm so in love with Bench Team Rhythm's performance. It's so stunning! This episode though had me crying pretty much start to finish so I look forward to your reaction lol
I personally think that the live audience's standing position affects their choices. Those at the back of the audience may be unable to see clearly what is going on on the stage, so vocals become an important factor in their decision. No matter how close or far, singing can be heard. Lee Changsub had given a practical advice to the trainees, which is to focus on the stability of the singing, so the live audience, can't see the camera movement, the stability of the singing will make the audience feel better.
Such an unexpected but correct way to describe it. I have been wondering why the teams that I have presumed to become the winning team or have a meagre margin to the other team seem to be collectively wrong, especially the mamma mia and prison team. Both of the respective team winners does possess strengths, but just doesn't stick out to me in a synergistic way choreographically? However, after your explanation, I have partly understood that standing position really does play a significant part in live performance.
Team Groove Bench "Mamma mia" made the concept sexy which doesn't fit the song meaning that's why I also prefer Team Beat main. Theirs also more difficult choreo.
I wasn’t supporting Rythm Bench or voting for them during the entire 2nd global fan vote, but after this performance, I’m including them in my lineup because they truly deserve it. I honestly didn’t expect them to intercept the song, especially since Groove Main was their opponent, but when Episode 5 aired, I was stunned. They delivered such an incredible performance, and some parts even gave me goosebumps. Hearing Changsub say they might steal the song from Groove Main gave me assurance that what I felt while watching is valid, they did well performance-wise. Still, I know they won’t get the song, but receiving only 101 votes feels incredibly cruel for them. I'm also a little bothered by nip slips on some parts of groove main performance, I know my Park Hannie would totally nailed the song though vocal wise esp. his parts it's like the song is totally made for him.
7:12 same here! I would vote for team beat. They have good teamwork and understands more the song. The choreography is fun and catchy to watch. I was waiting for this, thank you for your analysis! We also get to learn a lot of things too from your videos! ❤️
I think every single viewer agrees on Team Beat being the Winner. I haven’t seen a single person agree with Team Groove winning this (unless they wanna be edgy and different). But the general public all agrees something doesn’t feel right with Team Beat loosing this round. No matter how you look at it. Team Beat choreo was much better. They were also much more in sync. Even vocally Team Beat was on par with Team Groove here. Like if you play them one after the other. There is not much difference. And I personally enjoyed Kairi and Woongki vocal colours for this sound and the chorus. Team Groove vocal colours for the chorus sounded monotone and bland, whereas team beat vocal colours gave it life. That’s just my opinion. I disagree with who won. Thought both teams boys worked hard! I just personal have a problem with the on-site voters. Many who went on-site admitted they voted cause Team Grooves showed abs. Which is bloody ridiculous. Revoke Live audience votes, cause this is the stuff they vote for over talent and objectivity. Or get processional voters
I love your "on point" dissection of performances. Every team showcases excellent performance. Voting for the team you like has become a matter of preference.
As i remember Dir. Changsub told to Groove main vocal not to move while hitting the high notes to become stable, unlike rythm main vocal move a lot while singing the chorus
Also, this is still the stage rehearsal. Not the one shown in the show. You can sometimes hear fans screaming because they use the live audio instead of the rehearsal audio.
Yes! I will continue to review the full cams even if they aren't the official ones in the show in order to not be swayed by how it gets shot by SBS. I do get to watch the episode later and see the official takes which is fun!
as a starlight and the biggest vixx stan before!! I AGREE with how prison reminded me of vixx's peak era of error! just the intro itself made me remember my love for vixx!!! very nostalgic!! i'm so happy that you mentioned it here~
@@jess_holyfield i was so sad when i saw the score, its like whatever their performance is, it seems like it is already over whether they perform or not, it is not base on performace anymore seeing the score :'(
That’s the truly unfortunate thing about competition shows based on popular votes.. SO MUCH ROOM for discrepancies based on feelings. I don’t blame the audience for having that much power because they are being honest on who they are which is a fan… they aren’t claiming professional adjudicator or judge but a regular human who loves watching people perform. I’m hopeful we get to see more growth from members and I honestly find rhythm to be VERY LUCKY with not having anyone get eliminated this time despite having two members have a previous yellow card
A lot of people at the onsite venue, especially towards the back, chose team Groove and they stated because their vocals were more impressive/stable and they couldn't see everything on stage clearly from their view so vocals were more important. Also the native Korean speakers stated Team Rhythm's pronunciation left them confused because it was unclear. I personally prefer vocals so I pick team Groove, but their execution was amazing as well.
Them losing to Groove was an acceptable defeat, (I mean Groove are undeniably the best vocalists in UniLeague as a team overall) but the score gap was not it. 295 to 101? A 194-point difference? Not even reaching 120 or higher? But moving on...
@@nylawalker1629 of course, the pronunciation of Team Rhythm is not 100% good because they are not Korean native speaker (they are from different country in Asia) It is not called universe league for no reason.
Wow your analysis is very detail. Much appreciated. I just re-watched the full version RUclips videos of Mamamia. And watching Beat is quite exhausting. I mean except for Woongki, other singer was not highlight or demure, making it difficult to locate who is singing the lines. They dance and sing at the same time. The choreo didn’t alow the 'singers' to shine. Quite the opposite with Groove team. The singers were easily spotted as they moved or dance slightly different and always take center stage. I am no dancer nor performer. So this is just a random opinion. All in all, I do preder Beats stage. It suits the song. But I get why Groove won the vote. I like Groove voices better. It has more texture and layers. Each member has different tone and they somehow made the song richer. Is that on purpose?
I thought this round was fabulous to watch. I really love mama Mia as a song and have been repeating it hahaha. Last week before groove bench’s performance was posted I was watching beat and loving it. Then I decided I liked the song better after hearing groove’s version. I think for me in a live performance being able to hear the performers sing it and how groove was able to hype it up yelling and going whoo! Etc. that got me really excited. To me that really counts. I absolutely loved beat’s choreo though! Prison is really so nostalgic on many fronts and I think both performances were very good. Ultimately again though I really like it when performers can sing not necessarily loudly but in a way that commands your attention and I think Groove had the advantage in having more members who could do that. Park Han was vocally fabulous in this but the others also shone. For me both teams choreo had the very nostalgic elements (heck even those led designs and their clothes were nostalgic 😂). Rhythm bench had the fuller choreo but it wasn’t that groove’s was bad so I don’t think there was a huge difference there. Vocally team Rhythm bench executed well but I think Groove was just better considering all the members. I think they also had a lot more comfort level to not just hit the notes but also to emote their lines a lot better which helped bring out the angsty vibe more. Thanks for highlighting Gijoong it is nice to see since I think there were many comments about his voice cracking when he sang in previous rounds. I have always thought that he dances with very beautiful lines (you can’t dance ugly and perform next to people like Hangyul, Feeldog, Chan 😅). I also like his vocal tone and it’s nice to see him improve vocally being in Team Groove. Changsub is the right mentor for him. Last point in this looong comment….one thing that stuck out for me was Team Groove has a lot more variety in vocal tones and colors vs the other teams so Changsub is really playing to their strengths tho I hope to see their dancing improve as the show goes on. And hopefully the other teams spend more time to tweak their vocals 😊. The next rounds will be fabulous for us as audiences. Now off to learn how to sing Prison…those old school songs are so karaoke friendly 😂
True!! Gijoong has a good voice. But people only criticize him because of his cracked vocals. Can't we appreciate his efforts? Why do we have to keep bringing up his mistakes. I'm sure he didn't do anything wrong during practice. And also changsub wouldn't have given him that part if he couldn't do it.
@ well if others aren’t making mistakes and he does it is fair to say he needs to improve. And yes I am sure Changsub gave him those chances for a reason. It is a competition in the end tho so I hope he finds it in himself to unleash his full potential. Team Groove feels like the right environment to keep him on that path!
I watch UL because of Changsub, but I am quite invested on the show now. Tho I am not voting (nope, not going to that hell no more), it's just nice to see that they are getting better. It doesn't matter what teams they are in, as long as they're improving.
The format of this show is INTERESTING and I found myself looking forward to the show mechanics more than the rankings which has NEVER really happened to me before watching this one! Super fascinating!
@jess_holyfield It just sickening to read the comments that are too ignorant and blatantly biased. They ate the narrative that are being pushed forward. Sad and laughable at the same time. People forgot or choose not to acknowledge that the broadcasted videos are heavily edited. And that blaming the live audience is futile. It's one vote per person (correct me if I am wrong), thus it's all goes back to preference, like what you said. It reminds me of Kingdom when the Vocal line of one team got full vote and the other team got zero it was heartbreaking to see despite I wasn't rooting for them. At the end of the day, this is just a TV program, being so invested to the point of being rude is just show how people need to get a life outside hehehehe... peace 😊
OMG so cool you are doing this especially because PRISON performance was so polarising. It is super interesting to read the comments as well. I understand that the performance on camera and the experience onsite are super different and that could explain the disparity of opinions. The PRISON performances and the finals scores are so enlightening and interesting for those of us who are interested in stage versus broadcast performances. I love the song, (INFINITE vibes!!) I love both groups and I love both performances. And I absolutely love how this show is becoming a lesson on the art of stage creativity. I do think that there are several ways of viewing these kind of shows and reacting to them. As you said, some people prefer a more emotional approach and some people are just interested in the technical and artistic sides. As usual I would like people to be more forgiving with producers and writers of this shows who introduce dramatic elements and push narratives. They have no choice. It is their job because that is the format and they need to follow protocols. They have a lot of pressure to please everyone, those who like the emotional content and those who are just there for the art. In this episode, for example there was a VERY heartbreaking moment with an older contestant crying. Some people who are not into this kind of drama might have been bothered. But if you consider this show as a mix of artistic performances and storytelling, that whole storyline was really well crafted. There was a buildup and a climax. And the climax with the sound of him crying filling the whole stage and the green rooms with everything else silenced was breathtaking. Again, as dramatic storytelling it was really well made. To me it was also an honest commentary on how older idols struggle and how tough is the idol profession. Anyways, my point is there are also lessons to learn from the dramatic elements of these shows. The fact that the reactions of some viewers are sometimes so emotional irrational and painfully rude should not demerit the value of the show.
This is very well said! Completely agree with you here so much. This is why I’ve tried to take the approach I do when watching any show on Mnet (and now SBS) because they know how to manipulate a narrative… whether good or bad. I am hopeful that I can be a middle ground for opening up the discussion for productive conversation, and those who try to test the waters by commenting aggressively heightened emotions directed to me and who is participating on the show, will be met with a HEAVY reminder that you will not be able to fly like that here.
@@jess_holyfield I hope you did not have bad experiences on your channel. I feel like you are always very careful on how you express your thoughts. I have had some bad experiences, never on your channel, especially when "defending" MNET and trying to discuss the concept of evil editing. I am passionate about anything related to media and I love to discuss it, but I understand that people are into other sides of korean content...
They have same choreography, same arrangements of songs. It's a battle between who interpreted the song really well. They both slayed. Groove team vocals while Rhythm Bench Team Choreos is wow.
Prison sounds a lot like BigBang's Haru-Haru, Blue and Monster for me.. First time I heard the snippet from the previous episodes, I immediately thought of BigBang.. 💕 For voting, I have 49% vote for Rhythm (because of the performance) and 51% Groove (mostly because of Park Han), it's so close for me. I was just let down on the very evident voice crack at the end for Groove as I have a higher expectation on vocals in Groove since that's what their Director is focusing on.
You are doing a great job here doing your analysis. Remind me it is yours opinion. Just dont mind people with negative reviews/ comments. Have a nice day!
thank you Jess for giving another nuanced pespective in your busy Schedule. @48:40 that it's a voice flip / yodel. It may be unintentional, it may happen when you loose the breath pressure, but I think it kinda matches the performance. Would be cool if they add it more and other vocal textures too for a retro / pop vibe. But maybe I am too greedy because they are harder to do when you have to move alot, and maybe complex for beginner singers. -- This show format is really competitive and fun because you may cheer up for teams and think about the balance of them and not just popularity of individuals as end up happening with other shows. that I am used to after ep4 or 5, see the public may stop caring for half of the candidates due lower chance of winning. This show honors a bit more other candidates outside the heavily pushed ones. Could be a bit a more. There are still some low screentime and poor highlight distribuitions. But until now it's have been well paced and enjoyable.
Thank you for reminding me of the NAME of that switch! I literally love doing that so it makes it fun to clarify it in terminology! I personally would love it more but agreed it would take some time to get their bodies and vocals balanced to make that happen the more complexity is introduced in the overall composition! I was having this discussion over on the Patreon side about screen time, and part of me believes that some influence on who gets certain amounts of screen time may have something to do with how the first global voting panned out. Because in SBS head, why focus a lot on people eliminated when you could “help” the public want to vote for their favorites that you create the pool in. Does that make sense? Call me a Universe theorist 😂
I think it's also worth considering the 'singers who dance' thing isn't always the defintion for all idols and it really just depends on the type of idol group you're in esp in the newer gen, I mean positions are there for a reason right, some companies even just take two trainees who can actually sing outside of a recording studio and focus on dance, visual, etc. when looking for the members to complete the group. Sure they have to learn how to sing to some degree but the position they were hired for is always gonna be the priority, maybe it's just me but that's what makes me believe an idol group is closer to like a complete prod performers than singers who dance. Nowadays it's even rarer to see singer idol groups as those who are more successful were always the ones who puts equal focus on singing, dance, visuals, virality, even acting/facial expressions and more because they always end up being more interesting on stage and get more fans or recognition.
The red warriors hasn't moved on yet and I am sorry that you are experiencing such harsh words. The other team is also suffering from such comments in all social medias. They're probably minors or immature adults. Thank you for the video!
I agree with the directors choosing who they need. Changsub, for example, chose to trade in members to strengthen his bench team. Sirin will strengthen the bench vocals and Juwon will strengthen the dance component. Team Groove is quite notorious for skimping on choreography and focusing on vocals. And the Abs exposure. I feel that Team Beat performed Mamma Mia better. I reckon they maintained El Capitan’s original intentions. I doubt he intended the song to be sexy or else he would’ve told his team to do it as such.
Hi Jessica. Thank you for these analyses. I enjoy hearing your observations. You are obviously coming from a lot of experience, not only in dance, but in observing several generations of kpop. I also love that you were wavering between the two teams in the battles for both songs. I had a hard time deciding who I would vote for as well. They were all great in their own ways. It really came down to the viewers individual preferences toward the various elements of presentation, many of which your pointed out. I have a suggestion for you since you have touched on some choices made by Changsub and the Groove teams. I think you would gain a greater understanding of those choices, like the harmonized melody and the voice flip if you watch BTOB's Killing Voice video. It doesn't have any dance, but I think you will have a few "A-ha" moments when you hear the singing. Thanks again for your reaction videos!
Jessica, sending you lots of love ❤❤❤ Thank you so much for allotting time giving us detailed analyses on this episode, Wishing you best year ahead and happy Holidays too! ❤❤❤
For Mamma Mia the improvement in stability was so small for how much simpler the choreography was. And I heard some big volume changes mid change and an almost honk link sound around 30 sec in. You might need headphones, I can hear the vocal mistakes from Mamma Mia Groove and it was jarring.
correct me if i'm wrong but over on team beat starting vs. team groove bench (mamma mia), you said you preferred team beat bc although groove had more stable vocals, the choreo doesn't do much justice to it-something along those lines, and base from what you said, then i think that's also the case for team groove vs team rhythm (prison) performance. anw, thanks for the feedback
It is really evident in your reaction that you enjoyed the TEAM RHYTHM BENCH performance. That is what we have felt. They may not be that good yet in pronouncing the lyrics, but perfromance wise, Team RHYTHM BENCH really was enjoyable and REMARKABLE to watch. Their vocals are not that weak and are promising too. That is what we felt. The VIBE, THE CHOREO, THE VOCALS, the overall impact. Twas really amazing. And they ONLY GAVE THEM 101 VOTES? Just because their diction and vocals are not clearer? Hello? Sirin? Zhinuo? Yuxin? And even Ayumu served their positions so well, they are indeed STABLE. It was a NECK-TO-NECK perfromance they would have gave them 200 plus votes rather than 101 votes. To think that Groove’s choreo is plain, simple and not that pleasing. And to think someone did a mistake in the choreo also someone got the wrong pitched towards the end ? 😭😭😭😭 sooo unfair !!!
I am saddened at how the points were distributed because it made them feel so disheartened. I know that feeling and to think your team doing their best wasn’t nearly good enough is a freaking sucker punch. I’m very proud of ten being the mentor he is and saying that he doesn’t care of the results because they did well and I would wholeheartedly agree with him! They should be PROUD! And hopefully this would help some team rhythm bench members gain more followers who want them to succeed and vote them in the lineup!
10:3318:4020:37 Do you think he is a main or a lead dancer. His dances are quite impressive. Or he should be another position? Because he wanted the center position of the group. Is it sutiable for him?
I personally love Beat's Mamma Mia. Although, I do understand why the audience voted for Groove since they're pretty stable and fun. My only qualm is the concept Groove chose. It really doesn't fit the song in my opinion (or maybe I just prefer lighter concepts in general lol). It was a pretty close battle tho so it might have just been a difference in audience preference, but both teams did really well
I preferred Rhythm because they focused on performance but delivered exceptional vocals. Groove focused on vocals but still messed up the vocals (Kijoong voice crack) and the dance (Seo Jeongwoo).
A lot of people will agree that Cha Woongki from Team Beat owned Mama Mia😭 Sadly, they lost. Altho, Groove did great as well. It's just that Sexy Mama Mia isn't giving, especially bc of the meaning of the song.
Groove was more stable and clean in vocals but for the choreography and performance it's def. Rhythm even changsub says they might lose the song to them.
The onsite votings on this intercept round is so not giving they're obviously groove biased that time. I like the beat main performance more too but they still lost their song and though rhythm bench did so great it's acceptable that groove still won because of vocal aspect but losing with such a low score is just unbelievable given they're performance.
sorry about using so many words! I am genuinely trying to write less... anyways just one thing... isn´t it so much better to watch the performances with a wide angle and a fixed camera? When will they stop using steadycams, getting "inside" the choreography, breaking the continuity of space and the flow of the performance!!! Who thought that was a good idea? That is not how a choreo is supposed to be viewed! Seriously this trend needs to stop. Also the powerpoint nightmare on the LED Screen background is sometimes too much (some are actually very good though).
Congratulation to Team Groove winning Prison 💚 but Team Rhythm bench deserve better than that 101 pts ❤ Anyways, people should stop being mad at the audience but should be blaming the Management, they're the ones who creates the mechanics
The official UL channel has published the dance practice for all teams for this challenge and they all performed better there ofc, moving cam, but more details caught. As non expert, i prefer rhythm starter team for Ignition, then Beat starter team for Mamma Mia, and Rhythm bench team for Prison. But for the audio only songs, now already released on Spotify, i prefer both groove teams. And for performance in this challenge, I think rhythm starter team and Beat bench team were the best among all 6 🫢 Beat bench team were so under appreciated especially the one from the last challenge (Hard Carry). Hanseo x Kairi 💥 But even sadder, we found the same situation, even worse, I might say, in this episode 5 you're about to watch 😞 The dark lighting in the beginning of prison is such an enemy ugh. There's so much more to say bc the video is long thus inspiring so much to discuss about but I'm kinda stuck. I don't always comment but as always, thank you for your insights! Merry Christmas Jess 🎄💛
Medyo na off ako sa comment mo ngayon kisa sa comment mo before sa UL. Parang may pinag tatanggol kang group. Samantalang before namman may unting d lang sabay pinapansin mo na. Tas pati pag kanta pinapansin mo na. Hahaha. May point ka. Pero, it looks like being bais. 😂 pero thank you parin. 🎉
I totally agree with you when you said that these are singers that dance, and not the other way round. I’ve actually been a dancer for 10+ years, but somehow I surprisingly gravitate more to vocals when it comes to pop or kpop. And that’s probably why I am not that picky on the dance side, rather, I am more critical of the way how the vocals and lyrics are delivered. I think I had the exact same thought process as you when I was watching the performances which is rly cool to see hahaha 🤣
Correction if you think that Kim Gijoong from Team Groove didn't do a Voice Crack im 100% sure your wrong cuz everytime he Performs he always find a way to messed up his Vocals and have that Voice Crack 😂 Analysis Failed ❌ and you said you loved it ohh gosh 😆
Hey there. Thank you for taking the time to comment. I don’t know if you feel that by my preference on whether his voice cracked or not completely invalidated my hour and a half analysis. This would be disappointing news as someone who is a dance analyst with layman vocal perspective, therefore only being held to your constructive feedback based on something I am not claiming to be a professional on as an educator. Looking forward to hearing a more refined feedback!
@jess_holyfield girlie don’t even bother with this one. He did voice crack (pointed out in the show) but it could be seen as a stylized choice cause it worked. It was a vocal crack not a voice crack. Those can be done intentionally. This one wasn’t intentional but since the song is pretty emotional anyway, it fitted and the live audience just saw it as an style choice. I do it sometimes as well (I’m a singer, not professional but self trained for about 4 years) i fully agree with your analysis but I do think Team Beat sounded better than Team Groove since Team Beat’s choreo was already harder and had way less idle time, while groove center parts most of the time had them idle emoting
@@Mizu-Takasuuu nuh dude if you think that kind of Voice crack see it as a style and loved by the Audience your wrong 100% wrong. let's see it this way if you think about All of Team Rythm's Contestants are all international no Korean 😏 it's basically common sense to think that they are in a disadvantage when it comes to Live Audience Voting and for your info a lot of Contestants in Team Groove are already Famous or Known in Korea and let's be fr here no matter what the results of The Performance of Team Groove they will win anyway and there's a lot of Biaz voting in Knetz and that's the reality of it im Chinese and my Friend is literally there watching so she knows a lot 😂 let's get back to the topic 😆 and also if you think that Voice Crack blends well in that song then your a 100% wrong again 🥱 even Director Changsub's reaction says it all.. 😂 he's reaction was like : again everytime? bruh i swear All of his Performance he always got that moment of him having a Voice Crack 😂
Groove mamma mia looks boring without the abs + the incorrect interpretation of the meaning song lyrics. It was the dirt cheap tactic of Abs that got the onsite vote. Rhythm bench Prison Choreo is 100x much better but the lighting was so bad. Most of the time it was too dark or too blinding. Groove Prison PARK HAN + Kenta Vocals is much better but even with the simplified choreo other members are not good. Put PARK HAN TO RHYTHM so He can dance + sing.
Hey there! Thank you for the suggestion! So when I’m quiet too long on a reaction, I can get feedback like this but for opposite reasons 😂 and not only that, I have a higher chance of getting the video blocked because I’m not providing “beneficial commentary” to the material, therefore “stealing it” even when I don’t make revenue anyway from it, and can make my channel have a higher chance of getting deactivated. I’m sorry if my commentary was prematurely given for your preference and I do try to continuously find a middle ground with these! Much love to y oh!

i Personally think you are only choosing base on who is on the Higher rank, but if we will be analyzing it honestly, you have a bad hearing if you did not noticed that Sirins voice has more clarity and soul compared to park han who is only shouting, you are blind if you did not see that rhythm bench choreography is harder and with many movements to make their voices unstable but they still sing the song better than the the other group, you have a bad hearing if you did not notice the voice crack of gijong, they are barely dancing to be stable with their vocals but still gave a crack voice performance compared to a powerful performance. You are being bias if you did not noticed this differences.
Hey there! Thank you for taking the time to comment. I kindly ask to respect the space here. Accusing me of being blind and deaf and questioning my integrity as a dance analyst based on one SBS full cam from any point of the rehearsal/live performance process is not the most respectful approach to providing constructive feedback to me. These are humans who are not perfect nor will ever be. I can tell you very plainly who had more complexity in composition and I can provide a decent layman perspective as a vocalist, as I spent an hour and a half doing just this. This is not Reddit. Please refrain from being critical of the participants in order to justify the praise of other contestants. This is a subjective competition with subjective criteria with an SBS narrative of camera focus…. I humbly believe the finger of “bias” if pointed to me should have both hands pointed to your live audience and your tv network that is releasing each episode.
We had little expectation on rhythm bench, it was the least bias group, and that's why we were all surprised how good and impactful the performance was! Their performance made the fans look for them for the 2nd time, and now, I see bench team new biases popping here and there. It was really that good! and when you are following the show closely, the impact will hit harder, because almost everyone thought no one could touch that Groove starting line up, but this bench team really scared them, even their director said "they might steal our song". that's why so many people are so mad about the score gap, because everyone thought it was a close fight. but that score gap was a crime
omg yesss i really thought it was a close match! that gap was unnecessarily big

Rhythm bench makes me want to sing along with them and the cheorography is insane thats why i choose them more than team groove

However, after your explanation, I have partly understood that standing position really does play a significant part in live performance.
the onsite voting alone is unfair af. what do you mean these boys careers depend on just these 300+ random audience like 💀
Team Groove Bench "Mamma mia" made the concept sexy which doesn't fit the song meaning that's why I also prefer Team Beat main. Theirs also more difficult choreo.
Team Rhythm Bench performance was full of emotions

Thank you for being a part of this journey with me and I always love looking forward to these every week!
I AGREE with how prison reminded me of vixx's peak era of error! just the intro itself made me remember my love for vixx!!! very nostalgic!! i'm so happy that you mentioned it here~
That song had me in a CHOKEHOLD!
i still do think overall bench of team rhythm should have been the winner or it should have been a close fight not 101 bench - 295 groove.
I watched the episode and was very surprised by the gap. This matchup I would have had the closest out of the three 🫠 bless it
@@jess_holyfield i was so sad when i saw the score, its like whatever their performance is, it seems like it is already over whether they perform or not, it is not base on performace anymore seeing the score :'(
That’s the truly unfortunate thing about competition shows based on popular votes..
@@jess_holyfield i agree!
The most stupid thing is the score between the two.
Yey! Happy holiday Jessica, 'been waiting for this breakdown/reaction
Happy holidays!!
@jess_holyfield
It just sickening to read the comments that are too ignorant and blatantly biased.
@@jess_holyfield oh I am so sorry, I just finished your video and saw you have not watched the episode... I hope I did not spoil anything !
I love Team Rhythm Prison version. It is more all rounded performance. it has still good vocals, but the Choreography and Theatrics❤
Team Groove mesmerized us with their voices, while Rhythm captivated us with their dance. My baby Han finally debuted.
@@prometheuses_ look at Han!
@@jess_holyfield 😭😭😭😭😭😭i'm proud of him
They have same choreography, same arrangements of songs.
For voting, I have 49% vote for Rhythm (because of the performance) and 51% Groove (mostly because of Park Han), it's so close for me.
--
This show format is really competitive and fun because you may cheer up for teams and think about the balance of them and not just popularity of individuals as end up happening with other shows.
that I am used to after ep4 or 5, see the public may stop caring for half of the candidates due lower chance of winning.
Thank you for watching with me! I knew when I got into RUclips that would have videos with this type of response. It happens!
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO DIDN'T TOOK THE "VOICE CRACK" NEGATIVELY IN TEAM GROOVE'S PRISON. It added emotions to it😭😭😭
I agree with the directors choosing who they need.
Team Groove should lose.
Jessica, sending you lots of love ❤❤❤ Thank you so much for allotting time giving us detailed analyses on this episode,
Wishing you best year ahead and happy Holidays too! ❤❤❤
Thank you for following the journey alongside me! Been really enjoying it!
i agree with you team beat starting team deserves that mamma mia song
For Mamma Mia the improvement in stability was so small for how much simpler the choreography was. And I heard some big volume changes mid change and an almost honk link sound around 30 sec in. You might need headphones, I can hear the vocal mistakes from Mamma Mia Groove and it was jarring.
Right?!?!?! Team Beat should’ve won, they were better than Team Groove😭
correct me if i'm wrong but over on team beat starting vs. team groove bench (mamma mia), you said you preferred team beat bc although groove had more stable vocals, the choreo doesn't do much justice to it-something along those lines, and base from what you said, then i think that's also the case for team groove vs team rhythm (prison) performance. anw, thanks for the feedback
Finally..i love your detailed analysis..even to the tiniest bit
😭😭❤️❤️ thank you ♥️
It is really evident in your reaction that you enjoyed the TEAM RHYTHM BENCH performance.
@ yes, that is the downside of any survival shows. Knetz are so into visuals. In which they dont pay attention to underrated trainees.
10:33 18:40 20:37 Do you think he is a main or a lead dancer.
It was a pretty close battle tho so it might have just been a difference in audience preference, but both teams did really well
Is the vocal stability of the groove team anywhere in the room with us? 😂
park han carrying the team 😭
It's probably Bigbang's Monster Changseob was talking about.
That's what I gleaned!
Team Rhythm bench was robbed. I will never forget this scandal.
Now that u mentioned it, it does sound like b2st fiction!!!
Love it!
you should do universe ticket too
Nam Do Yoon, i just cant stop laughing just by seeing your face 😂😂😂
YESSS. VIXX😭😭. When the intro played, i def, knew it was error intro
Omg I am so glad you feel the same!
Yesss, the music is really oddly familiar on me too. Thought t'was just me. It has similarities with Vixx Error tbh so closeeee
Hi vocal coach 😁😅, i mean dancer choreographer, your voice sounds great 🙏😭🙂
Haha that’s very kind of you 😂♥️
The onsite votings on this intercept round is so not giving they're obviously groove biased that time.
Congratulation to Team Groove winning Prison 💚 but Team Rhythm bench deserve better than that 101 pts ❤
Anyways, people should stop being mad at the audience but should be blaming the Management, they're the ones who creates the mechanics
And for performance in this challenge, I think rhythm starter team and Beat bench team were the best among all 6 🫢
Beat bench team were so under appreciated especially the one from the last challenge (Hard Carry). Hanseo x Kairi 💥
But even sadder, we found the same situation, even worse, I might say, in this episode 5 you're about to watch 😞
The dark lighting in the beginning of prison is such an enemy ugh.
Love that we share similar sentiments!! It's been a fun show thus far!
I don’t want to spoil you but Bench Rhythm had the lowest score. It’s an audience issue thing.🤧🤧
101 score is just plain disrespect to the performers
Thank you for your perspective here ♥️♥️
@@Mizu-Takasuuu nuh dude if you think that kind of Voice crack see it as a style and loved by the Audience your wrong 100% wrong. let's see it this way if you think about All of Team Rythm's Contestants are all international no Korean 😏 it's basically common sense to think that they are in a disadvantage when it comes to Live Audience Voting and for your info a lot of Contestants in Team Groove are already Famous or Known in Korea and let's be fr here no matter what the results of The Performance of Team Groove they will win anyway and there's a lot of Biaz voting in Knetz and that's the reality of it im Chinese and my Friend is literally there watching so she knows a lot 😂 let's get back to the topic 😆 and also if you think that Voice Crack blends well in that song then your a 100% wrong again 🥱 even Director Changsub's reaction says it all.. 😂 he's reaction was like : again everytime? bruh i swear All of his Performance he always got that moment of him having a Voice Crack 😂
Prison remind me of Vixx (error), Beast (fiction) and Bigbang (monster)...really nostalgic.
YES!
You talk too much cant you watch first before commenting or watch first then rewatch it then say everything u need to say...just my suggestion
Hey there! Thank you for the suggestion! So when I’m quiet too long on a reaction, I can get feedback like this but for opposite reasons 😂 and not only that, I have a higher chance of getting the video blocked because I’m not providing “beneficial commentary” to the material, therefore “stealing it” even when I don’t make revenue anyway from it, and can make my channel have a higher chance of getting deactivated. i Personally think you are only choosing base on who is on the Higher rank, but if we will be analyzing it honestly, you have a bad hearing if you did not noticed that Sirins voice has more clarity and soul compared to park han who is only shouting, you are blind if you did not see that rhythm bench choreography is harder and with many movements to make their voices unstable but they still sing the song better than the the other group, you have a bad hearing if you did not notice the voice crack of gijong, they are barely dancing to be stable with their vocals but still gave a crack voice performance compared to a powerful performance. You are being bias if you did not noticed this differences.
chill man...
