    My partner and I were in the same phone company: I was paying 20 euro with a prepay plan and he was paying 45e with a bill pay plan, only because he was paying with the phone they gave him!! It’s a total scam and people need to be more aware of this. Thanks for making this video

    Hello Jose! There is a new TCL flip phone that appears to be launching soon! I just discovered it today on their website. It’s called the TCL Flip 3. The user manuals are available to download as well as all the specs! If the date on the simulated screen shows Friday, June 28th. Maybe that will be the launch day?? Cheers!

    In Canada main network (New phone, data plan $100+ a month with phone payment) Secondary networks work but I was unable to make calls sometimes from 5pm-9pm since I live in a area with a dense population and a big mall. My solution was to get a voice only plan without data bring your own phone for $25 a month it works good for me I don't need data when I am not home.

    BTW Thank you for all your awesome videos, especially the dumbphone reviews!

    In the UK my network mainly does PAYG but I can switch my 'bundle' to recur each month so it's like a rolling month to month contract which gives a slightly better deal (but can turn this off at any time to be purely PAYG). They also do regular 18 month contracts but they're not particularly advantageous.
    For rolling PAYG, unlimited minutes/texts & 2Gb data it costs £6 per month. With 5Gb data it's £8 a minth & with 20Gb data it's £10 a month. I've never used more than 4Gb & that was rare... most months I'm under 2Gb. Have never spent more than £90 on a phone & usually keep them for years. Smartphones & online 'presence' hold zero interest for me. When I retire in 5 years one of the first things I'm doing is dumping my smartphone & going back to a 'brick'. 👍

    Hey José, Dose this also apply to Internet and wifi at home? Are there any reliable internet providers, other than the big companies?

    • @JoseBriones
      @JoseBriones  22 дня назад

      Good question! There are some cheaper alternatives for Wi-Fi at home depending on the area. I highly recommend Astound or Frontier. They can be great or horrible depending on your area though. Also, the CalyxOS foundation offers a good deal on hotspot that you can take with you as an alternative.

    Could you do a video on 4G dumbphones without bloatware? In theory the Punkt MP02 is the perfect device for me. In reality I use it for a year and I am heavily dissatisfied. Responsiveness is bad, the power capacity is relatively low, typing could be better and overall there are always problems here and there. It is just not smooth to use, especially if you keep the price in mind.
    Meanwhile the usecase is absolutely mine: Useful in future due to 4G, usable as a hotspot (so I can work remotely with my notebook), having a good alarm function and lacking of any bloatware. I just don't want Facebook, Whatsapp or something like that pre-installed.
    Very hard to find something like this.

    Having lived through multiple fires and evacs, I’m happy to pay extra to AT&T postpaid knowing I won’t be deprioritized when everyone is trying to use their phones in an emergency.

    Great tips. On the phone side, I don't buy newest phones since it's not worth it just to have better cameras and bla bla bla. Pointless. On the network, I stopped paying high prices since I'm 90% of my time covered by Wi-Fi network.

      Yeah I would avoid used phones - too many issues - glitches - no warranty - so many scams to rip you off - go for a brand new phone
