it felt like an eternity ..... obviously in other stores the rebate you get instantly at the registers as the price is marked down so yes even 2 weeks is a very long time
This is all done to reduce the desire of people to do all of this. Unfortunately. Can't thay simply hang a box in the store where people could drop this form? Or fill it out online?
I also sent in a rebate after buying a generator and never received my rebate l've always received a rebate for a lower amount add l can't speak to anyone per the phone l'm so upset
So I waited for a rebate, I received a post card with the rebate. Didn’t look like anything associated with Menards, thought it was junk mail advertizement
I haven't needed an envelope or stamp for 6 or 7 years. Menard's management know that in 2024 using mail service is now an inconvenience for many people, which insures a significant portion of people won't bother with sending claim. It's also not a rebate, a rebate implies cash back, Menard's only gives store credit, usable only at Menard's, insuring they still get more of your money.
It is a lot easier now. However, you make looking for a matching number sound like a lot of work. It might take you five minutes to have an employee print you out a matching form if you can't find it, and in those five minutes, you've basically saved/ earned $20. That's basically $240 an hour. Not a bad wage. To me, it was worth the hassle even before.
Yeah but it depends how busy the store is if an employee is readily available. Or if you left the store and forgot the slip now you can get it online. The closest Menards for me is 35-40 minutes away so forgetting that would not be ideal.
I'm sorry but its all complete nonsense. There is no reason in today's day and age where rebates can't be submitted online. Secondly, there is no reason why it should take more than 2 months for you to receive your rebate which isnt cash back, it's store credit.
That would be too easy. I'm sure there are over 50% of people that simply forget to send their rebate in. Then for the others it gets them back into the stores.
i know it just a promotional gimmick to get people back in the stores but two option i think be better have some kind of a rebate card put the rebate on or log your receipt into the website the process just take too long can you use menards rebates online to pay i never could find a promotional code will work
@@stevenssbargainbarn2294 I like the idea of that because if you use Menards frequently the paper rebate cards are annoying. Cards are more expensive and I'm sure they like the idea of potentially losing a piece of paper. Who knows? I've been getting a lot of rebates though and actually submitting all of them ever since they went to this single form though.
@@isabelmolina8589 I dont think there is a limit. The fine print on the back of the form just says multiple rebates can be used with one rebate form. :)
Pro tip: Save alot of rebate receipts (the bottom portion where u cut off) and mail it in all at once along with that blue form. Do NOT staple or paperclip anything as these are hand scanned by team members.
IF you send them all in at once then you will have to wait extra long to get the rebate on the others. SOme people dont want to wait. Plus, you could lose out if you wait too long and they expire
Basically your voluntarily consenting your private information, so they can sell, solicitate this information "name, address, phone number, email address so on so forth", for a measly 4 to 6% savings depending on state Tax.
I noticed that there is a final mailing date on the form. I assume if I take this to the post office and they put a digital stamp on there or whatever post office markings, that it should be fine. I've never done this before but we have about $400 in rebates and don't want to love any. Thanks for the video, super helpful!
I bought all materials for my back deck because I wanted the rebate. Over $3000+ and followed the guidelines as instructed and have always done before successfully but I never received the rebate and they told me they have no record of receiving it. The whole thing seemed intentional to me honestly. It was odd that this was the rebate that disappeared. I would be upset but I would have bought the material there anyway and realize that it could have been accidental since it was around the peak of the Covid 19 madness.
I sent in two rebate forms and never received the rebate. It is a rip off. They need to provide the rebates at the registers. It would save everyone's time and stop the frustrations.
@@lcas2891 A lot of people say this and I found out that I made this mistake. Menard's sends your rebate in a small flyer type of envelope that the ends tear off. It looks like junk mail and many people throw it away not knowing what it is. A friend told me about it. I bought about $15K of building material and it was delivered. I mailed the rebate a couple days late and it still came in. I used the $1600 rebate to buy more building material.
Same here. They intentionally make it difficult in the first place. If they really cared, you would be able to just submit the form online.. But this process is intentional. Who is going to be able to prove that they throw out 10% of them?
Thanks for this! I wasn't sure if I only have to send in that bottom part or the whole receipt. Didn't want to send the whole receipt in case I have to return something which it says it would void the rebate . I have sent in a lot of rebates in my time but they keep talking about the rebate receipt and since the whole thing is a receipt it's confusing . I wish they would put something above that line that says send in the bottom part only and keep the top part!
How long has it been? You can check the status by going to the same page I show in the video. I just got one of mine back and it took almost 3 months. It normally takes 6-8 weeks, but lately it has been taking longer.
No, I just mail in expired ones with good ones and they have never rejected them. Prior to me sending in my expired rebates, I searched Reddit and there were a lot of people claiming to have sent in expired rebates that were months past the date on the receipt. There was even someone claiming to have sent in rebates that were 2 years past and they still received the rebate. I think the trick is to send in multiple rebates at once and hide the expired ones in the middle.
If I use the in store blue one that I just put my address and stuff on, can I put multiple receipts for one little form? As long as they're all before the mailing date?
Hate them. Mail in rebates are outdated. Set up a loyally program that automatically puts the "rebates" onto your account there. If a small movie theater can have a system like this, so can Menards.
Absolutely HATE this Outdated System for rebates I'm hearing many people don't ever even get them or they get lost or stolen not sure what's the bigger problem...
I do wish they had an online method but the mail in method isnt as bad as it seems. Whether its online or by mail, you'd have to enter your name and address anyway. The worst part is mailing it, but I wouldnt make a special trip from your house to the post office just for that. Just drop it off the next time you happen to be going that way.
I honestly think they stick with the rebates knowing a lot of people won't send them in. I made a purchase at menards a couple weeks ago and got a mail-in rebate......11 cents. I'd lose money submitting that by itself.
I'm a software guy - It would not be hard to develop something that would take the rebate # and/or barcode and match it with the transaction to allow the transmission of a digital rebate. My guess is that they don't want to make it easier because more people would do it.
Why can't you just do it online? It's crazy they still force us to mail these in and waste paper money and time its crazy!!!
They need to make this so you can do it online instead of mailing it, not everybody has a printer
it felt like an eternity ..... obviously in other stores the rebate you get instantly at the registers as the price is marked down so yes even 2 weeks is a very long time
Wow. It feels like going back to the 80s. I wonder why there's isn't an option for doing it all on the website.
They are now dating the rebate tickets if you don't constantly mail them you don't get the rebate. Started shopping elsewhere

Mail in rebates are pretty much a scam. The store knows 99% of customers won't do it. And for those who do, I'll bet most don't receive anything.
you got to spend money to make it worth your time!
