Hey! As someone who has GAD/Panic Disorder, I can relate so much to how rough it is to get adjusted to medication and the struggles of finding the right dosage/what's right for you. Take your time and take care of yourself! It is indeed a lifelong journey (been dealing with this for over 10 years now!) but the proper support makes all the difference. Best of luck to you!
The struggle is real. It took me six decades to FINALLY be correctly diagnosed and now with the help of one ssri capsule a day, a lifetime of insomnia is over.
The worst thing was being MISDIAGNOSED and put on medication that exacerbated the problem. 🤬
My advice: Keep learning and keep looking for the right healthcare professional who specializes in your health issues. They're learning more every day. And keep your primary doctor in the loop. ♥️🙂🖐️🍀
I wish Mattel’s basic Ariel with the plastic fin had articulation at the knee like the one in the sister set with the fabric fin. I prefer the fancier plastic tail, but I NEED that knee articulation. It makes the mermaid so much more fun to pose!
I wish they made the sisters with modeled clothes too because i think they'd be much more movie accurate, the fabric tops/tails sets limitations
As a therapist myself, I can't advocate enough for people to explore their options when dealing with anxiety, especially this modern times we live in.
Anyways, I am so excited for both the monster high Ghoulia and Rochelle

Edit: I agree that for the mermaid dolls, using molded plastic isn't a problem. Little girls will want to play with their mermaid dolls in the bathtub or in their pools, mermaids make sense with water, and it's a lot easier to dry off and clean plastic than it is fabric

I find molded on tails for mermaid dolls in general nicer as the details are usually more clear and don't shift around like fabric tails do. But it really depends on the type of doll and for which audience they're aimed at
As someone who dragged all my mermaid Barbies to the pool as a kid I think the best mermaid dolls were the ones with the silicone tails. They swam so beautifully ☺️. The tail wasn’t legs, it was an actual tail with articulation at “knee”.
Deciding to take anxiety meds was one of the best decisions I have made for my mental health. Adjusting can be difficult at first, but it's worth it in the long run. Take all the time you need. We will continue to support you. 💕

I think I'll be alone when I say this but I feel Monster High dolls are coming out faster than we can collect them. It seems like every day, a new doll is released.
Youre totally not alone! With only like 2-3 weeks gap in between Skullector Elvira, then Ghoulia, then Rochelle, then Chucky and Tiff. Its too much! Thats not even including the playline where they gave us like 20 dolls in such a short time. I think its way too much

I mainly collect Rainbow High myself, and the Junior High dolls are super cute!
As a dog groomer I really wanna see the VIP girls lean into that, a hair stylist with a paw print outfit is 100 percent a dog groomer doll and I need it.
One of my friends recently started taking anxiety and she's also been a bit calmer and more reserved because of that and it's completely fine. Your videos inspire me to be less ashamed of my hobbies and interests.

What did you think about the Barbie Fashionistas Down Syndrome doll? She's really pretty and her dress is the only pretty one in the garish release.
I love her! She’s so cute and sweet. I agree her dress is one of the better ones in the new lot that’s been released. Idk if I got lucky but I really love the hair quality on the doll I got of her. It falls so nicely and naturally and is really fun to swish around. It also feels very silky, too.
I agree she's very sweet and cute. she has the fashionistas body I think, that's the only con I can think of. but it's understandable since this doll is specifically made for children not adult collectors.
I dressed my disney store ariel in the blue gown and its so adorable 😭 it came with a headscarf that Im obsessed with. I definitely prefer it to the retail version

i have the tweevils and regular bratz and i LOVE the articulation..i’ve had them for a little bit and i probably repose them multiple times a week;
for that reason they’ve been getting more love than my other dolls atm.

The Chucky and Tiffany doll drop was absolutely ridiculous
They literally dropped incredibly early in the morning and most people where sleeping when they dropped they where wayyyy expensive for what they where
Not even to mention that they revealed the dolls 30 minutes before they dropped
You do whatever you need to do for yourself, we will still be here, supporting you and cheering you on. It's been a dry doll season so far anyway.
If your analytics shows people skipping over your mental health explanations in this video, know that I only skipped past a lot of it because I have also struggled with mental health issues and medication struggles and I was like “oh okay cool yeah I know exactly how that is, you don’t have to explain yourself to me, I get it 👍”
(as opposed to like, “ugh this is boring, I don’t care, just get to the dolls already”)
Good luck with your medication journey! It can take a long time to figure out med combinations and dosages and it can be a frustrating process at times but it’s so worth it once you finally find the right balance! Don’t give up! You’re doing it!
I got the “basic” TLM Halle doll with the plastic tail. She’s so pretty in person! This is the first doll I’ve ever purchased for myself in my entire life, and the first doll I’ve owned since I was probably 12 or younger. I wanted something to “collect” from this movie, so this and one of the Funko dolls is how I’m starting.
from the groups i’m in, it seems as though not getting the Ghouluxe Ghoulia doll shipped is a big problem here in Canada. It might be different in the states, but i’ve seen dozens of people talking in the groups about her not even shipping yet
Getting meds right is hard, I'm ADHD and Bipolar with Trauma issues, and I had to go to a day program at a mental hospital. I was there 8am -3pm 5 days a week. It was like adult babysitting with classes for managing mental health and coping skills. It was hard, I lost my job. But I'm proud of you for getting your meds sorted, it's hard, but worth it.
You don't need to explain yourself to anyone, but I understand why you would want to! I think that comes with an anxious brain.
It's always a joy to watch a video of yours, but knowing you're prioritising your well-being is an even bigger joy

The new VIP dolls look super adorable! I love the different hair styles and outfits they each have and they’re also really expressive as well. It makes them really pop off and I’m also excited for the Chucky dolls from Monster High as I think their designs are pretty cool. Though I may not like Disney’s live action remake stuff as I am an animation fan myself, the dolls look pretty solid. Ariel herself looks neat and her sisters are something I can see a lot of kids and collectors would be willing to get as they each have their own visual perks and stand out on their own. Overall pretty cool new releases. But I’m glad you’re doing well and if you ever go through something like that, we understand. Take as much time off as you need. ❤
My anxiety medication has changed my life but it does take a while to get used to. Awesome that you’re taking the steps to help yourself
Ugh, I get the adjustment period. My first medication somehow simultaneously caused drowsiness AND insomnia... Happy you're starting to get the help you need, and I hope you luck out and get matched with the right medication for you on the first try!
Some unsolicited advice- make sure to be patient with whatever med you are taking and expect it to possibly be a not so great experience (at first). It took me about three months to adapt to my antidepressant/anxiety med. For a few weeks towards the end of that three months I felt "nothing." Everything was numb. I felt no sadness or happiness. It was awful. But then, things began to level out/get back to "normal." Also, as you age (you look very young to me) and that prefrontal cortex gets all nice and fully developed/you learn new coping mechanisms, don't be afraid to get off it. Just make sure to wean off slowly and safely if that day comes.
I love when you talk before a video! And I hope the meds work out well! I've been on multiple medications for my anxiety, OCD, and depression. For a while it was hard af for a while to find the right dose and medication brand, when it finally worked, it WORKED GREAT!! Good luck on your journey! :)

I’m glad to hear you are prioritizing your health and yourself! If it means anything I suffer severe anxiety, especially at night, and it can snowball into a plethora of unpleasant consequences like sleep paralysis or days without a full night of rest, but your videos are always reliable companions to coping skills in helping get to a better headspace or relaxing when it can literally feel impossible.

Something about the Rochelle doll is off to me. Like, going for the Victorian French aesthetic is a no-brainer, but it doesn't feel like they did that. It might be the details or that damn mermaid dress shape.
I hope your adjustment period goes well! As someone who has severe GAD and social anxiety, it's been great to have my brain be settled after going on anxiety meds.
I have to admit, I wasn't excited for the live action Little Mermaid, but the Mattel dolls look cute.

I sent the video you did about the modern barbie to my mom, and she found it fascinating. She said she watched the whole thing, which surprised me. She doesn't usually watch videos we send.
As for this, I got Ghoulia - she looks fun - but I do agree on the over designed aspects. I happen to like Maleficent so I was debating, but 150 is a bit much. Especially as I just don't have a lot of shelf space in total so I have to limit my purchases of anything (books, dolls, plushes, etc) Mal's design is fun, but I'm not sure if it's 150 and looks a bit... overly pretty if that makes sense? Movie!Mal is elegant but cruel while this doll looks a bit more like any doll. Not COMPLETELY, but her face lacks some of Maleficent's pizzazz.

This isn't a doll comment but the whole finding the right dosage thing? I GET that. I FEEL you on that. It's grand that you're taking care of yourself like this, because the benefits won't be instantaneous but they will be WORTH IT.

I love the Vanessa and premium Ariel dolls! They’re the only 2 I’ve unboxed, and I adore them. The only Disney Ariel doll I have is the 2023 LE, and she’s staying in her box. I have to say I haven’t owned a doll since the 90s, but The Little Mermaid has been a gateway to collecting Barbie as well.
Finding the right medicine and dosage was was so crucial but exhausting for me and I feel better hearing you talk about it. Good luck! I remember being very exasperated and nauseous, so take care of yourself and don't worry about content. We want you healthy more than we want long/more videos!

her original minidress already looks so much like a casual--fied version of a 50's dior evening gown! it's THE archetypal parisian chic! i cannot for the life of me understand why they did This instead
I wish the boots were black not blue. I think it should have had a shorter dress so you could see the boots. And the black cage part over the top should be down to the floor. Maybe even with a train!

I just wanted to say congrats on taking care of your mental health. I also have an anxiety disorder and am on medication and understand how hard it can be to take that step. Im honestly so happy with the dolls for The Little Mermaid, specially the Mattel basic doll (which I have here on my desk with 2 other mattel mermaids!) And I also got the Ghouluxe Ghoulia and really hope that becomes a series! About Rochelle, same... the design is too much, too clashy and the $90 price tag was not it.

My "Goldilocks" med/dose (relieves symptoms without too many side effects) took six weeks to finish kicking in and it wasn't the first one I tried. It was frustrating to go through the trial and error, but far more sustainable than leaving those symptoms untreated. I appreciate you sharing your experience with starting psychiatric meds. De-stigmatization is so needed. I hope you feel better soon. Hang in there!

I'm pretty much skipping all of these, I have a backlog of dolls I still haven't got from the past year and older than that. These are some very slow moving months so far for the doll community I feel. Good time to rest up and save money.

I have been taking meds for years now (after being inspired to finally try again after watching a particularly moving My Cat from Hell episode where the CAT thrived on psych meds). A lot of them don't work for me or don't work super well. I started a new ADHD med last week, and my life has TRANSFORMED. I'm getting things done, I'm not struggling, I have energy, and I feel sober the whole time. (ADHD meds are stimulants - a lot of them will make me feel energetic or make my heart race but not much else.) So anyway, mutual celebration of taking these important steps!
i got the tweevils, ghoulia, and ordered chucky & tiffany, but besides that i don’t think i’m gonna be getting any of these dolls :( i will probably get the mattel deluxe ariel because she’s magnificent, but this really is just a weird time for dolls lol
Ahh I don't usually talk here but I gotta come in and say how happy I am that you're talking about your medication! I'm somebody who takes anti-anxiety meds myself and it makes me sad that there's such a stigma around it, so hearing other people talk about it always helps me feel a little better! Don't be shy to try different ones - I was lucky enough to find one that worked for me first try, but it's not that way for everybody - and don't be afraid to up the dosage when the time comes either. If it stops working as well as it used to, work it out with your doc. Above all, don't feel guilty for talking about it in your own space!! It's YOUR channel, and if people don't want to hear about your life, they can always skip ahead. I hope everything works out well! :D

hello, i just wanted to say i love your doll videos. one of my favorite ones was the video about the rare unknown dolls and my jaw dropped when i saw What's her face doll. I remember having one and wanting to get the accessories but never getting the chance to, it also put americas top model doll on my doll hunt list. I'm very curious of the future Disney villains Mattel plan to create, that maleficent's outfit looked amazing. I'm hoping that the others are a nod to the mid and late 90's villian collection edition dolls, i was lucky to find the evil queen, cruella, and maleficant because their face sculpts were really close to the animation o instead of (as i like to call it) prettied up. I'm keeping my fingers cross we get a few rare villians in this new collection by mattel like Madam Mim, Medusa from "The Rescuers" , maybe even Ursula's sister.

Talk as much as you want about your struggles. I have been on antidepressants for over 20 years, i know how it goes. It makes you human and real to talk about it. So these upcoming dolls are ok, nithing really grabs at me. Ill probably get Ariel just to have her. Keep the videos coming!! Hugs

took me awhile to find a good combo of meds for depression and anxiety, and sometimes the side effects of different meds really affected me x_x i wish you luck and promise that a good combo will make a lot of difference

I agree about the Barbie and Ken duo. Ken is cute and I like his combable hair. Barbie is ok, the skirt is joy, but I don't know what they were thinking with that top!
Oh I didn't know others were having issues getting their Ghoulia. I ordered two and have only received one but it makes it seem online that both have been delivered. I reached out and waiting to hear back.
something that I always thought is that maybe mermaid dolls could use that plastic the 2010's (I think?) Polly pocket used for the clothes so they could be easily changed but it wasn't fabric for the tails so you could change them into humans that idk wore like cool swimsuits
firstly, im so happy to hear about the medication! i myself have horrible anxiety (everytime someone has to take my bpm they always double check it because my resting is like a hundred n ten on average), and so i also take a fair amount of medication to help manage it. its been a while since ive had to start anything new so i cant really remember that adjustment curve, but i know it can be a Lot sometimes, especially on those more volatile medications. i really hope this works out for you and that until it settles itself out it wont give you too much trouble, i know my own meds are super helpful with managing everything and i really hope yours will give you that same support! n then second on all the fun dolly stuff, i also got ghoulia! shes my absolute absolute favorite character in monster high and so i got a fang club membership just for her, and im so thankful she managed to make it out to me just a few days ago, i was really worried she wouldve arrived after i moved here soon. i agree shes a bit Much, but i think her drama is more contained and settles into a more campy territory than overdesigned, unlike rochelle i dont think her silhouette has too much going on and overall im just so happy ghoulia finally got a collector doll (now we just wait for them to finally make her a creeproduction.....)
