@@FrankStephensondesignAre there other examples of "high profile/veteran" designers doing this in entertainment media? I can't think of any notable ones. This sounds like a great way to make some extra money. If something you designed was downloadable content (DLC/micro transaction) and you got 5% of the revenue from that car or whatever, that would be a lot of cheese.

Thanks Frank. I was lead car designer on this project, way back in 2006. All commenters should appreciate these cars were designed in 2006, and sometimes way before that (as some are from other Burnout games). Comparison with modern cars after that date means I was ahead of my time! My favourite is one I personally designed, the Watson R25 Racer and Frank guessed correctly that I do indeed have an Automotive Design education…
Go get your education kids, it gives you the chance to do cool stuff like this.

They could've went full GTA V and done some absolutely crazy cars when it comes to the graphics, but it seems like they decided to focus mostly on the shape and simple lines of the cars and only started doing the graphics after they were happy with the overall shape of the vehicles. I’m glad to see some people who actually worked on those cars in the comments, feels so good to see them enjoy the fact we like their work and know how to appreciate it
Burnout Paradise is still to this day my all time favorite racing game, and my most favorite car from this game was the Carson GT Nighthawk, it was the pinacle of coolness

Loving the analysis being brought into video games as well. Especially because I don’t have access to real sports cars but I could actually see these cars and use them in game.

I'm surprised you didn't mention any influence from old Dodges (Charger, Challenger) on the first one. I think that's closer to it than a Chevy or Pontiac. Great video, these are always fun!

Don't think I haven't noticed your nice bottles of whisky back there! What are your favorites? I personally think Lagavulin 16 and a bottle called Nikka From the Barrel are hard to beat, given reasonable budget.

So interesting to see a critique for a non-existent cars =)
And there are pretty many games that have those. I can easily remember "Wreckfest", "Flatout 2", "Split Second", "Ridge Racer Unbounded", "Crash Time", "Live for speed", even a "Cars" franchise (which will be very fun) and more
