Local businesses thrive here...... Yes shops closing at a rate of knots, the high street dying, trouble with people running riot and litter everywhere..... Yes my town is thriving alright.
I live in Raunds not far from Rushden, while Rushden Lakes is great for shopping it can become busy very quickly, you will spend a lot of time queueing especially at weekends, be careful when leaving as the main roundabout is a hot spot for accidents. The countryside around many of the villages is stunning Rushden Lakes has killed much of the town centres in many of the villages
I absolutly love the mention of the cavalcade. Which hasnt run for atleast 6 years. Considering this video is 1 month old. The maker should have been aware that we now have the East Midlands Steam and Country show which is in now way connected to the cavalcade.
Drugs ravage rushden and it’s a shame, I felt like I was in gangs of New York when I lived there, only because of the historical architecture and tight streets, else it would have been green street hooligans…
I'm not sure but I don't think you live in Rushden, the town centre did used to be great as another comment said the town centre is dying the choice of shops is awful now unless you like nail bars or Turkish barber shops and the town has it's fair share of trouble and beggars ,you make it sound idyllic however the video itself was nice I have lived here for 55 years Rushden is declining year after year I so wish we could go back to the 80s
@@planet101You show two unoccupied units in your video at 0:52, two of several. One was a gaming shop that shut a few months back, the other, the dry cleaners, has been closed for years. By all means highlight the positives of our town, and - though many other locals might disagree - there are a few, but don't spout outright lies. Our high street is dying and the Rushden Lakes complex, which you so praise, is what's killed it.
@@planet101in the first 200 MTRS, the High Street has 12 empty shops! It has a burnt out pub. You very carefully avoided the old burnt out cottage next to the church, where drug dealers ply their trade. People arrive in local taxis to buy and the taxis wait for them across the road. No mention of the feral rats causing problems on electric mopeds, bought with the proceeds of illegal activity. Yes, on the whole the town looks nice and mostly it is, but cutting videos of Hall Park to make it look like different places would lead to disappointment for anyone visiting off the back of your video.
@@samuellawrencesbookclub8250there are no shops at the Lakes, that would have come to Rushden High Street. As with every town, online shopping and supermarkets selling massive ranges, cheaper than smaller shops. It is not Rushden Lakes
Nice!!

It’s a dump mate…
ruclips.net/video/rd5pb71i7xQ/видео.htmlfeature=shared here’s a glimpse of the real rushden, and was actually filmed in Wellingborough/Rushden.
I only can say that the road conditions are terrible

all the shops on the high street are occupied, it doesn’t look like abandoned, the one thing is roads like moon surface, very sad
