    At 12:00:09 the city of Moore conducted a weekly test of their Outdoor Warning Sirens on Saturday, June 25th, 2022, the test consisted of about a 3 minute Alert.
    As soon as I heard that Moore switched their tones back to the standard tones I had to go down there. I took a few weeks because I was moving into a new house and then I went to Texas so this was my first free weekend. I set the audio recorder down here to get this ambiance while I went to record a Modulator. I'm not disappointed at all! I'm glad these tones are back, Moore finally sounds normal again. I decided to set the audio recorder here again since the last time I set it here Moore was still ThunderMod so I wanted to hear the difference.
    Testing Schedule: Every Saturday at 12:00PM | Weather Permitting
    Location: Behind the Goodwill Thrift Store at 805 S Eastern Ave
    Sirens Heard:
    Modulator 5020 (850/1020hz) - 0.55 Miles | 2,896ft
    Modulator 5020 (850hz) - 0.62 Miles | 3,256ft
    Modulator 5020 (850hz)- 0.8 Miles | 4,240ft
    Modulator 5020 (850hz) - 0.87 Miles | 4,585ft
    Modulator 5020B (850/1020hz) - 0.99 Miles | 5,220ft
    Thunderbolt 1000AT (Chopper Level 5) - 0.7 Miles | 3,702ft
    Thunderbolt 1000AT (Chopper Level 5) - 0.71 Miles | 3,733ft
    Federal Signal 2T22A - 0.56 Miles | 2,941ft
    Federal Signal 2001-SRN-DC - 1.08 Miles | 5,719ft
    Federal Signal 508 - 1.12 Miles | 5,934ft

      @@shshduProbably. The tornado that struck Moore, Oklahoma on May 20th, 2013 touched down at 2:56 PM Central Time and dissipated thirty-nine minutes later at 3:35 PM. Right at the time when schools are dismissing children. All I can do is hope that the kid screaming in the background wasn't a student at one of the two elementary schools that were hit by the storm: Briarwood Elementary School and Plaza Towers Elementary School.

      @@DeadChan67If you have watched coverage of the May 20th, 2013 tornado that struck Moore, Oklahoma there are a few instances where you can hear the tornado sirens in the city wailing. I watched coverage of the storm by Oklahoma City's NBC affiliate KFOR channel 4 and in a phone call between the station's chief meteorologist Mike Morgan and a field meteorologist by the name of Mike Bennett I heard the wailing of tornado sirens in the background. Bennett explained that the tornado was on 19th Street approaching South Santa Fe Avenue and that he had to turn around and get out of the path of the storm at South Moore High School. While I'm not from the area I have tremendous respect for the crew at Channel 4 for the way they covered the May 20th storm: Mike Bennett and Emily Sutton tracking the storm on the ground, Mike Morgan covering the storm in the studio, Jon Welsh tracking the tornado from the helicopter, and Linda Cavanaugh providing information about the school districts in the path of the storm.

    • @AndrewWT5020
      @AndrewWT5020  Год назад +1

      I’ve only heard 5020s and 5020Bs in Moore so they were about the same loudness. I do plan on eventually recording the 8032B which would be the loudest one

      @GabrielCL2T22A Год назад

      @@AndrewWT5020Oh okay! My loudest siren I've ever recorded is the 5020T at Oakridge Elementary. really loud, but not the loudest siren I've ever recorded... The 8032B is a good siren to record I think. I've recorded that siren many times and it won't be the last. I am more than likely to record it this weekend if the weather goes in favor.

    • @techyyystech388
      @techyyystech388 Год назад +1

      The Modulators in Moore (most prevalent/continuous sound in this video) were running thundermod tones for a little bit, and were recently switched back to their standard pitches. Thundermod means they were essentially just running different pitches meant to emulate thunderbolts, the lower-pitched sirens which you can hear occasionally throughout the video. Thundermod seems to have been pretty controversial and those tones are no longer used.
