Sirens of the South & Midwest
Добавлен 25 авг 2019
Hello! My name is Andrew, I’m 16 years old and I’m from Enid, Oklahoma. I was born in Oklahoma City and lived in The Village, a suburb of Oklahoma City, for about 2 years before moving to Enid in late 2009 and have been here since then. I have had a big interest in sirens, storms and railroad crossings since I was around 3 years old. My interest in railroad crossings has faded over time though, so I don’t frequently post videos of them.
Since 2020 when I started uploading videos here, my channel has been dedicated to recording and uploading videos of Outdoor Warning/Tornado Sirens in the South (Primarily Oklahoma) and the Midwest (Primarily Kansas). It’s been a great journey here, watching my channel grow and become more known in the siren community, and I don’t have plans to quit anytime soon.

At 12:00:06 the City of Ponca City conducted a weekly test of their Outdoor Warning Sirens on Thursday, October 24th, 2024, the test consisted of about a 2 minute and 20 second Alert. This 2001 rotates at around 5-6RPM so I’ve been wanting to get to it for a while. Unfortunately it’s unreliable, so this is the result. This is the 3rd and probably last time I try to record it. At 12:00:14 the City of Guthrie conducted a monthly test of their Outdoor Warning Sirens on Friday, October 25th, 2024, the test consisted of about a 3 minute Alert. At 12:00:04 the City of Moore conducted weekly test of their Outdoor Warning Sirens on Saturday, October 12th, 2024, the test consisted of a 3 minute Alert. I wanted to get an ambiance between a few 508s here after the new ones were installed. Obviously it doesn’t sound different there’s just more 508s mixed in. New area in town for an ambiance anyways. "Minco" sounds really fun in my opinion!
Did any other sirens fail?
Hi
Is it inactive permanently?
Don't know why they would replace it, probably something simple, usually is.
@@Blue10AEMia It has radio and rotator belt problems so it wouldn’t be too difficult
@@AWT5020 can you try and record another federal SD-10
@@AWT5020 those are my favorite sirens
@@nicodimatteo There’s plenty of them still around so I’ll run into more SD-10s to record in the future, I have no idea when and where since it’s not a priority
Those wasps tho
Its not activating cause it don't wanna get stung 😅😅
Why is it inactive permanently? And is it analog dual tone? When was the old system and the new system introduced here and Broken Arrow? Tell me the history of it.
@@Jake-w3l I have explained this multiple times to you. The 2 3000s left in Tulsa are inactive because they have been replaced by the WPS-2910s in the area. The city started the process of replacing their 3000s with 2910s 10-15 years ago. As far as I know, all the 3000s were analog and I’m sure some of them were dual tone. Broken Arrow started the process of replacing their aging system of earlier this year. As of now, they have replaced about 20 of their 4004s and their last remaining 3000
triplet sth!
Delicious
Siren wires broken.
@@bliayang8284 The town doesn’t use it anymore. They disconnected it from the system
Juicy STH
Finally lol
Beautiful
Bruh I'm dead 😅
So why they got rid of the thundermod thing
@@JakInnaBooth It didn’t cover as much as the standard tones do. So overall the system was a bit quieter
As if more wasn’t over covered as it is 😂, I know why though, we have a couple towns where I’m from that are tornado magnet towns too
That's creepy as hell.
I lowkey miss living in Moore
sounds like the hayfield

Will you ever go to mustang to record the 2001-130
just you wait till they get a new siren :P
@@Nirvoxide new siren in mustang??
@@cooljay130 no! i was commenting on their coverage haha
How's there coverage from your prospective
@@xX_Sirens_Of_Northern_IowaXx Very good. They have a siren every 1/2 - 3/4 mile and their sirens have about a 1/2 mile range
@@AWT5020 so typical Oklahoma Siren Coverage 😁
@@xX_Sirens_Of_Northern_IowaXx Lol yeah
@AWT5020 they need just a ATi on the east side of town then they'll be covered 😆
@@xX_Sirens_Of_Northern_IowaXx Lmao
How did it get high pitched
@@Holly-kt5bm The intake is blocked
Is it inactive permanently?
@@Jake-w3l Yeah
@@AWT5020 Why?
@@Jake-w3l They replaced it. They got a new system of 2001s. There’s one right down the road from this CTI. CTIs aren’t good sirens anyways so the 2001 will do much better for them
It’s shaped like a megaphone. Right?
It looks like and I Force or a Quadren. Right? And it looks like a Mentos tower. Right?
Is that the 2t22 from the new twisters movie?
@@Jake-w3l No. The one in Twisters is in El Reno, OK
Imagine how insane this system would sound in attack. Such a great ambience as per usual for Moore!
I thought it was supposed to be active. And now it’s inactive permanently? And did it used to be active in 2010? 14 years ago?
@@Jake-w3l This was the last 3000 in Tulsa to be active. It was active until 2017/2018. Then they put up a 2910 not far to the southwest of it and ever since then this 3000 has been shut off and is permanently inactive
@@AWT5020 Yeah, it lived a really long life. 35 years. The last 3000 saw the new 2910s around it. And it will bring back the old system of Tulsa good memories. Right?
Q1so I guess Moore and OKC are involved not Norman? I thought it would be the entire area testing but I do see where the point is since Moore Is the most recent due to all the wild storms of the summer Q2 if okc dose sounds dose that mean Moore and OKC sound as well if there is a tornado or what happens
@@joshstarr5080 OKC, Moore and Norman all test every Saturday at noon. You can year a couple of Norman’s Whelens, they’re shown at the bottom of the screen. Most of the OKC metro cities test on Saturdays at noon. If OKC sounds their sirens then not even all of their sirens will sound. They have their sirens divided in around 40 sectors since the city covers so much land. So when they sound the sirens they will only sound the ones in the sectors that are affected. Moore will only sound their sirens if there’s a direct threat to anywhere in town. So even if OKC’s sirens are going off and you can hear them in Moore, that doesn’t necessarily mean Moore will go off or there’s a threat to Moore
@@AWT5020 ok thanks was wondering
The double windups got me like
Another great ambience! Also, it sounds like your audio recorder got a bit overwhelmed by the noise this time.
Is that a 3V8-H, a 5V, a 7V8, a 10V, and a 14V?
Honestly, the windup is creepier than the wind-down.
@@GabrielCL2T22A I still think the wind-down is creepier
I think it’s shaped like a megaphone. Right?
It sounds like an FS Equinox and an FS Eclipse 8. Right?
@@Jake-w3l Yeah, they’re all 8 port. Plus Eclipses and Equinoxes use the same chopper
Are the 2t22s still functional?
@@settingsun3470 Yep. All of their sirens are perfectly functional
Yes
Moore NEVER disappoints.
Nope. Moore is awesome.
Did you know that they are 4004s in Tulsa that are dual tone except 1 that’s single tone? And there’s a 4008 that has an ESC 864. And there are a lot of 2910s all over Tulsa. And there are 2 3000s, 1 is next to an EOWS. But they’re inactive permanently. Right?
There are approximately *2 confirmed* dual tone analog 864 units and one unconfirmed dual tone unit near tcc northeast campus, and lets not forget about that 1 single tone analog unit that no one has exact coordinates to so it’s exact location is a mystery. The 4008 with the esc-864 can be heard in this video according to the description. They also have a few WPS-2800 units that replaced WPS-3000 units back in the day, I think TRP fan *look him up* filmed one of them a couple years back. they also have a WPS-2805 at the university of Tulsa.
It sounds like an FS Equinox or an FS Eclipse 8. Right?
The most Moore experience
theses wind down sounded like same thing every year it's always same good condition but it's not terrible or creepy at all but nice ambience it's so bit reverberation when they stop man
Thats lowkey terrifying I love it
Friggin love it
Moore’s got one of the creepiest ambiances out there, especially after 2013
This is actually pretty good this is not bad at all.😅
How do I see a Whelen WS-3000 in Oklahoma?
I’m not sure what you mean
@@AWT5020 They’re really rare. Right? Especially Oklahoma.
I think that will bring back Tulsa’s good siren system memories. Right?
Yeah, most of the 2910s used to be 3000s
@@AWT5020 Rest in peace, 3000s. They lived a really long life. 15 years. The 2 3000s saw new 2910s around them.
