Hi thanks for a great video. I tried changing the orientation and it work great in Sketchup. But for some reason the change does not work when I render in VRAY. The material is still in the wrong direction in the renders? Have you seen that problem before and do you maybe know a workaround?
All the Vray materials with textures have a handy size hint at the end of their names - for example the first floor material you picked says "120cm" - all you have to do is enter that for your size (SU will automatically translate it to Imperial) and BAM no guesswork! Or I should say "little guesswork" as you may need to adjust here and there but I find for the most part it works pretty well and is usually a great starting point.
Thank you very much for this video. I have some issuses positioning textures in Sketchup and rendering them in V-ray. When I rotate the texture Sketchup, it will move as I want it to. But when I render it in V-ray, the render has the old position of the texture. Any idea what causes this? Hope to hear from you!
@@pablorodriguez6792 Dude I figured it out! Right-click on the plane and click on 'Reverse Faces'. Then add the correct texture again and it will behave as it should be!
Hi Justin, thanks for all the super useful videos. I think I'm right in saying that materials must be applied to groups/components (not individual faces) for displacement mapping to work? My problem is that I can't then go inside the component and adjust the texture position on individual faces to align my brick texture properly. If I explode the component to align the texture correctly then my displacement mapping stops working! Any help much appreciated.
You are awesome brother, u help thousands of students like me. I want to ask how I can change the color of vray texture? If change from the material tab, it changes in skectchup but remain same in vray.
Hi, could you please work with the import object photo on the Sketchup Vray? Also I need to know about the options on the top and left side of the page that I am a beginner.
I am rotating the texture as you said, but in the Vray Rendering image, the texture postion stays the same (even thou it is changed in the modeling space) . I dont have that problem with resizing , just with positioning. Any idea why is that happening?

first make group or compenant after aply material and change pos.vs...
When I resize material in the edit tab, nothing is changed on the floor I'm editing, only the new material is created, without v-ray adjustments that I need. Any help?
@@TheRenderingEssentials Sorry my eanglish is not very good. I`ll try again. If we want to see the displacement in a material we have to aply the material to a group, not to isolated geometry. In that case, how can we place or rotate the material in the position we need. Thanks a Lot!

The same problm here 😢 do u find any solution ?
😂 Been using Sketchup for a decade and missed all these drag icon to edge techniques. Thanks!

You just have to adjust your settings, to do so go to Extensions ->V-Ray -> Tools -> Colorize Textures
@@ElisabethToyen omg it was so simple and for months I was disturbed due to this issue. Thanks a lot

I did all the texture editing but when i render it, the changes i made does not reflect on the final render image. Why is that ?
why my pattern rotates after rendering to the wrong direction? even when I changed position of it?
No idea on this one...
I have the exact same issue
did you figure out how to fix this?
THIS FUCKS ME UP EVERY TIME
Try to apply the material to both sides of the surface and do not apply the material nside group or component
I rotated but still didnt changed in my vray. Dont know whats the problem
Thank you very much because of your video!

Hello!
In case of applying the texture to a group in order for the displacement to appear, how are we so posed to transform our texture ore rotate it?
I don't understand the question

How can i see bump or reflection bitmap in viewport when its different from diffuse?
In defult i can see only the diffuse.
Did not know that one !
Thanks
Glad you liked it!
I have a problem with this function, which is when I change the position, the bump map does not follow, do you know how to fix it?
What version are you using?
Hi! The "texture -> position" tool doesn't work if you add the material into a component. You have to add it into a component's face :)
is there any way to apply vray multi-sub texture to the selection ?
Wouldn't you just split the face up in SketchUp and apply different textures to different faces?

No clue - "It doesn't work" isn't really enough information
