      Can you put volume on the materials like you can do on Rhino with the available files that those websites give you? To make the material pop out and look more realistic and three dimensional.

    Great video. Going over the "basics" you always learn something. It's great that you cover every little button that we sometimes skip over even after using SU for years. Thanks!

    Just wanted to take a second to let you know how much I appreciate these videos. Just started using sketchup a couple days ago for deck plans. The way you describe everything and get to the point is so helpful. Although it's still a task finding and learning while trying to complete a project, I feel much more confident. Do you ever do live streams to help with specific questions?

    The last section of your tutorial you posed the question of "how to get collections to show up when you start a new model" Have you learned more about this? I am trying to streamline my SKP workflow and the collections tool seems like a great place to keep my materials organized. I use my collections in every model I work with. Something that has also been a pain is the process of saving materials to the collections folder. I can't just download a jpeg to my external materials folder. I have to save the image, create the material, and then save it as an SKP file. Not the most efficient workflow especially if I am trying to share this knowledge with coworkers when I doubt they will adopt this multi step process. Thanks again, your videos rock as always!

    Brilliant video as always. Thank you so much. I'm a design student on my final project and the building's walls have detailed brick and flint work. Would I be best to split the face with the line tools and try and apply different textures/materials that way? I tried take a photo and applying it as one texture but it doesn't look great as it's not seamless and no one part of the wall is the same (angled brick work, windows, etc). Open to any recommendation but couldn't find anything on this. Many thanks

    Hi, love the tutorials. I am trying to find out how to apply colors from an electronic color material board Instead of having to look up the RGB numbers. That is extremely time consuming.
    Thanks!!

    How do you prevent Twinmotion from globally changing a material. When I rotate the grain of wood it rotates everything.

    Hi! I have been trying to figure out how to pick a material is SU for Mac. I have 100 textures in a model. I want to apply the same texture to for example a chair. I want to pick the fabric and go to the new chair and apply that texture. In widows this is easy but not sure how to do it in Mac. Thanks!

    Hai sir. Thankyou for the informative video.
    My question is, why the sketchup file is always slowing down while adding and rendering the materials in it?
    Please help me with this.

    Can you help me get my materials window to resemble yours? Entity info, materials, components, styles, tags, and shadows all open as separate windows.

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  5 месяцев назад

      If you're on a Mac, they're going to be separate windows. You can dock them together by dragging them together, but there is no tray with windows on Mac

      Thank you for the quick reply. My materials window looks different from yours. It does not have the edit button. Also, whenever I right click and try to edit. It tells me I need to add materials to the model before I can edit. I am not sure what I’m missing but thank you very much.

    There is no "Texture> Positioning" in 2024 version, Bro

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  21 день назад

      I mean technically it's "Texture>Position", but there definitely is, Bro. I'd suspect you're not right clicking on the raw surface that has the material associated with it. Or you've got a color, not a texture applied. Or it's a softened / smoothed surface made up of multiple edges. Start with something simple, like a single rectangle and a brick texture or something
