Love the show Steve. My OCD is flagging the following. Ears of Khorne (sorry), sheaves (plural of sheaf) of wheat. And I think the legal case was McVities vs HMRC as biscuits were a luxury item under tax law so had full vat levied, unlike cakes which are. A staple food so zero VAT. But yeah, they baked a big one. This is what GW should of been doing for donkeys years, Actually talking to the giant online content creators instead of just hiding in a corner and pretending they dont exist. Fingers in both ears shouting so they cant hear feedback. I know were a lot of moaners complainers nit pickers who drink paint water but its done from a place of love... And possibly too much exposure to glue vapor sitting in dark rooms in summer with the curtains closed.

On the jaffa cake: it was slightly more nuanced. There is no cake institution, it was to do with whether they would have VAT charged on them. One of biscyuts and cakes is not charged, the other is, so there is more profit from the uncharged one at the same point of sale price.
Other “fun” vat issues include whether a dippable pringle would be exempt as dipping constitutes food preparation and vat is charged on food that is ready to eat.

The Jervis Johnson story makes me think of Adam Savage's maxim of "you don't need to know how to do the whole project, you just need to know how to do the next thing." Which is a variation on the theme of "when cleaning up, don't clean *everything*. Just pick up ONE thing - one fork, one dirty sock, one box of Daleks, whatever - and put it away. Then do the next thing." There have been times when I've walked up and down the stairs in my home twenty times, carrying one thing at a time, because I just didn't have the spoons to do it "efficiently," but by doing it one thing at a time I got my living room cleaned up and broke a depression cycle in the process.
And this is my first introduction to Dave, but he seems like a pretty good person, for an Ontarian. :p

  • @Benjambles

Tzeentch's biscuit is definitely the technicolour monstrosity that is the Party Ring.
    Khorne is the Jammy Dodger.
I think it's an ear of corn and a wheat spear (which is what's on digestives).
@pat - It sounds silly, but I used to have an old laptop that would overheat all the time, and it lasted way longer when I stuck a roll of pennies on it as a heat sink - just replaced the roll of pennies when ever it got too hot.
For me 9th had way too much of the 'and then this happens, and then this happens, and I get to do this because you did that, and re-rolls!' etc that Age of Sigmar has. If it wants to be reactive, it should go to alternating activations, or keep stuff on the board until the end of the turn so that everything can act in its own turn.

The old British education system doctrine of intentionally abandoning children who struggle was appalling.
That coupled with mental health is epitomised from a scene from Full Monty, when a character was considering committing suicide:
    'Try drowning'
    'I can't swim'
Imo those that need more work are always the most rewarding when they succeed. Not to take away from those with affinity for specific skills, but I get a big feeling of achievement when helping, and witnessing students achieve what they thought impossible.

About the dry brushing from the elbow not the wrist: I think the technical point is that a rotation from the elbow describes a wider arc than from the wrist, so the brush's motion across the model is a closer approximation to a straight line.
This is why I dry brush from the shoulder, and use a 4 foot long brush. 👍

I remember when the online sales policy came through. It was a big deal in Australia as we could buy from the UK and sometimes the US (the Australian dollar was very strong at this point) and get product for half price, even with exchange costs and with free shipping from certain stores . Have always felt that this was one of the reasons the policy was brought in as local sales here fell through the floor. Since then it's been the occasional UK eBay seller that comes and goes with a good deal, before they get shut down. I did have hope that maybe the UK-AUS free trade deal would have a small effect, but now I don't think it will.

Dave has posted yesterday on Instagram that he is off to the UK, please let a second visit to the Painting phase be one of his stops.

It's funny, I watched MWG since the beginning, everything from nipple glass [don't ask lol!] to Chris paints. And now I have family in Welland. I guess I really should go now, eh?

Thank the Emperor that Dave is using his powers for good...with his level of charisma and that voice, he would make one hell of a cult leader!
