  • Raven MPV 7100 Preview - Beta Test
    Mowing an overgrown lot. The Raven performed pretty well.
    The blade motors are pretty powerful. This was with a beta model of the Raven 710, later to be called the Raven 7100.

    They ask me if I wanted to be on list I guess they didn't want to got into TN I call after seeing this that's the impression I got from DGP. Did any chargers come with it? I was glad when you said steering was improve did the do anything with generator as far as 220 Volts.

    Just picked one up. It did not come with 12v charger, called customer service and they shipped one within two days...
    very pleasant experience!

    I went back and mowed this entire hill. It did a good job.

    They did not provide a charger, i haven't had any problems starting it even after a few weeks of non use. I have not needed to use the choke to start it at all. It does not have a 220 volt port but they know about the request. They have asked whether i'd like to have suspension on the back and four wheel drive, which i think would be very cool, if they can lock it while mowing. I noticed on their website they have an MPV 7000C version shown, look interesting.

    The mower is a beast, i went back and mowed down this whole area

    Just a thought, if you had mowed from the other direction, it would have worked much better. You were making the chute throw all the grass from the previous row you cut and that just clogged it up more.

      TexasScout Noneofyourbusiness did that on purpose. Wanted to see how much the blades could handle and what it would do when there was too much. The blades cut out but as soon as the grass cleared again they started back up on their own.

      Agree. Any grass that high takes a few passes to make look decent

    I think I would keep my Steiner 410 with its 26 HP Honda engine , 60 inch deck and 4 wheel drive that cost me a little above 1,200 as of now . Sure it's not as cool looking but it will mow grass like a golf course and go almost anywhere . Never got it stuck and dont plan too . Because it is heavy and if it sank in the mud it would be stuck and a pain in the butt to get out .

      I don't disagree if the only thing you need to do it cut grass.

      joejoeMan923 A Steiner does more then just cut grass.

    I worked at lowes when these came out. They were such a HUGE pile of crap straight from the factory. We probably sent 4 straight back with major defects that kept them from doing the most basic of functions.

    Any updates on these things? I can't seem to find any updated info online or their site.

    The right tool for the right job. Ditch the mower and use a bush hog. Many a commercial operator would pass on putting their Scag, Snapper, Hustler or other costly piece of equipment through this type of tall weeds/garbage grass.

      Ron Williams You are right if you need to cut this type of stuff regularly. I don't but every once in a while there is something like this that needs to be cut. and the Raven can get it done.

    The sound of the lawnmower really takes over the narration and it's pretty hard to here at most points

    It'd be nice if you could hear, maybe figure out the volume over the mower, no idea what you were saying... Oh, and when you mow grass that tall and thick ... You should run the mower where it throws the grass AWAY, from the uncut grass, otherwise , you're you're making it thicker, EVERYTIME you make a pass... Smh

    Now this is grass like in Ky. during spring rains season. Sorry but my Murray Performance Mower does a better job. Plus it cost 1/5 that of the raven, which I would have money to buy items that raven has on it - OH, I forgot, it will pull a 69 Chevy 3/4 ton camper special with a flat tire.

    That's just too funny. how to kill a Raven MPV 2.0

    • @joejoeMan923

      I was testing it's limits, I surely would never do that with my Husqvarna. The Raven had no problem with that grass, just a little when the grass build up to much to motors stopped but then restarted on their own once i moved forward a little. The Raven is still going strong a year later.

    Chad h common sense tells me that before claiming something is junk you may want to experience it. You are not going to haul around a cart with a huge pile of rocks with a zero turn And if you need to go to the edge or your property which is far away and run some electric tools your not going to do that with your zero turn..Ok maybe you don't need to do that but i do. I also run my electric blower and hedge trimmer at the front entrance to the street a quarter mile away. And i can get there fast. All i can say is Harry Home owner was very glad to have his Raven back, and he's glade Denver global is very responsive to customers and stands by their product. oh i also like being able to ride quietly in electric mode. help when i need to put the mower away at night and i don't want to wake anyone up.

    OK, this vid answered my "will it mow TALL grass" question. The answer is no.

    • @joejoeMan923
      @joejoeMan923  9 лет назад +1

      TexasScout Noneofyourbusiness you wouldn't want to do it everyday with this but it certainly handled it fine. I mowed that entire hill with it.

    So much for quality of cut! There is none.

    • @dibs3615
      @dibs3615 6 лет назад +2

      Well, it is tall, It's to be expected that there'll be a shitty cut when the yard it done. Kept reasonable length and groomed it should have a higher quality cut.
