It always amazes me, so many great Stones' songs that are just dripping with Keith Richards licks and people will credit everybody BUT Keith Richards for how good the song is. Are Keith's incredible contributions just ubiquitous?
Keith Richards is an idol for a lot of people, this man is a legend and a hugely respected person in absolutely all social circles.
@@jeremybares I had the typical "who's the greatest rock guitarist" conversation recently with the singer in my band. He threw out some names of some usual suspects. I said "Keith Richards". He didn't even argue. Album sales, ticket sales, radio plays, influence, longevity, there really is no contest.

It’s because we live in the age of note spam guitar players.. guitar music isn’t ‘good’ anymore unless it’s a million notes per second.. basically ego playing
The reason people hate on Keith is because he can do so much with so little because he cares about it so much.
The word underrated gets thrown around a lot when it comes to songs and usually incorrectly. THIS SONG, oh my god this song is criminally underrated. Arguably Jagger’s greatest vocal performance. Soulful guitar, beautiful Nicky Hopkins piano licks, brass and gospel choirs.
Jeremy you captured the guitar part perfectly. Bravo my man.

the term underrated gets used yes, but you rate it higher than some perceived notion, its not played all the time on the radio or used in advertising..if you rate it highly thats good, it is truly a great recording and band

Really, really good job.Some of Keith's best work. It's easy to forget how innovative he could be before he settled on grinding out stuff in open g with the same old chord shapes from Goats Head onwards.
I hear a lot Nicky's piano style in his guitar around this time, if you see what i mean. The way he hammers on the D string when playing a C chord, for example.

My favority album of all times is Exile On Main Street, followed immediately by Abbey Road. And this song is, maybe, the best one of Exile, in my plain opinion - which changes everyday, but always to pick other Exile's song out. Thank you very much to share this video to people like me, a long standing fan of the Exile, since it was reeleased here in Brazil. Then, I was only eleven. But already owner of good ears.

This is one of my all time favourite songs so I am very picky as to how faithful people play this song accurately and I can honestly say you smashed it out the park Jez! I must ask what effect are you using to achieve the Leslie sound? Thanks again for another brilliant video!
Thank You from the Heart 🫶 To be honest, I just used a digital Leslie effect that was barely different from the original, but so that my sound could be clearly distinguished from the sound of Keith Richards' guitar.

I used the Leslie effect found in the NUX MG-300 pedal.

That Leslie Effect sounds great. Keith did it with a Leslie speaker amp from a Hammond B3 organ. I’m sure you are using an effects pedal. Nice job !
